So, a funny story about Steal Enchantment... I was testing and tweaking one of my CEDH decks some time ago, and there was a player at the LGS I was at at the time who just wanted to get a game of commander in, and didn't really care about power level, number of players, etc. I gave him the disclaimer about my deck's power level, and he was like "I don't care, I just want a game." He was playing a Hakim, Loreweaver deck. And at one point I play and resolve Perplexing Chimera. He asks and I confirm that it is an enchantment creature. He then casts Steal Enchantment, targeting Perplexing Chimera. I ended up with a Perplexing Chimera with a Steal Enchantment on it under my control, and he then said that that was the first time he wasn't able to steal something with Steal Enchantment. TLDR: Don't cast Steal Enchantment into Perplexing Chimera. You are guaranteed a bad day.
Aura thief looks so cool, so sad its 4 cmc. If it was like 3cmc I feel like its potentially forcable, but spending 3 mana + needing a sac outlet for someone elses 3mana spell best scenario isnt super mana great.
Coming from the view of legacy turbo lists are more lean and defined than Midrange lists. Midrange allows you to pick the cards you want to answer certain problems. Hence steal enchantment is an answer to someone rhystic or tithe where you can just run disenchant if that issue you want to answer. Where an aggressive deck is defined by what works and what doesn’t work. But, CEDH has so many various efficient payoffs and interaction you can play the same commanders with someone across the board but the deck is constructed in a different way.
I think that a dead card is a dead card, even if it is good that it's dead. And in many occasions other than rhystic, getting the enchantment doesn't always do things for you, so it may effectively be enchantment removal. Taking remora, you have to pay the staggering upkeep cost, because it won't get reset when you take it
@@shyuugaheero2614 haha I think copy artifact might be a little too good, but I’ll add it to the list! Copy artifact is seen in 3x as many decks as Steal Enchantment so it’s definitely more popular!
I've been testing this card for a few months in various lists. It's good sometimes but auras are really fragile. Makes rhystics hard to take permanently.
@@DrOmnipotent Some food for thought: I’d assume if your opponent is using their resources to get their Rhystic back, that’s better than them trying to win or stopping your win.. right?
This is what the card sounds like: "Enchant Enchantment UU - Enchant Enchantment: Enchanted enchantment is an enchantment"
Shoulda made the title: “Are You Enchanted by this Enchant Enchantment? “

Another great episode! Imagine the salt of having two rhystic studies hahahaha
I’d love to hear a howling salt mine episode where someone had 4 rhystic studies through various means of copying this spell

Agreed. The stars need to align for it to work out 😭
I would recommend a review of Path of Peril!
Cool episode! You guys should do Piwerbalance
Oooo powerbalance added to the rec list for sure.
Good episode.
Thanks!

Agreed! Midrange decks let you make tons of choices with your list.

Hopefully you’ll be drawing enough cards to draw into rocks and lands to help pay for your upkeep costs. That’s the dream!
Tough to argue for cases other than rhystic when this card is literally meant to steal rhystic…
When its good its good! The rules text reads like a tongue twister though 😂
How does Relic of Legends sound for a rec?
Relic of legends is in an interesting spot where I feel like it’s a staple for Sisay but I dont see it in any other decks.

I was hoping for Copy Artifact

Hey can you guys make this podcast available on TH-cam Music?
I’ll look into this!
Awesome episode! Can you do trinisphere next?
A classic!
