+LaRay82 Now Steve's Kermit is a bit... down trodden. I think Kermit now is in a position of power, but it's suffocating him. Back when he used to do ads and did interviews on SS, he seemed to be more energetic and could deal with things more and if he couldn't, he was very expressive about it.
Ditto. Steve does a wonderful job, as does Bill Baretta, on performing Jim's characters, just like Eric Jacobson & David Rudman do for Frank Oz's characters (and Frank is himself still alive, but I think, after Jim left, he might not have had it in him to continue with the Muppets full-scale anymore, since he really was the Bert to Jim's Ernie or the Piggy & Fozzie to Jim's Kermit).
Steve Whitmire really knew his stuff, he knew the history of the Muppets, i love that he talks about sam and friends and it brings tears to my eyes when Kermit talks about jim x 😂😂😂😂 Kermit calling Pluto, plut 😂😂😂 that was hilarious
Well Steve stated at one time even before Jim past away that he had heard Jim was gonna let him start doing some of Kermit's segments as he was busy with other projects. It's almost like Jim knew he didn't have much time left and knew who he wanted to leave Kermit with. I miss Jim so much though...I hope Steve continues to do Kermit as long as possible cause god knows I can't handle loosing Kermit again.
17 people can't find the rainbow connection Also, I really respect the fact that Jian doesn’t look down at Steve sitting on the floor at any point during this interview.
Brilliant interview . Jian did and excellent job. I was even surprise by the quality and "Pertinence" of his questions. he did his homework! Kermit the Frog is a great guest to have on any show!
Well, it is Jim, to an extent. Steve goes into the very essence of Jim to perform Kermit, much like how the voices of Mickey are "filling in for the boss"--meaning Walt--when they do the mouse.
Chris Evans me look good on one of my life Muppet that is good news soon gool thanks you guys is that ok now that you can come back and look at this week
Idk what went down that led to Steve’s firing, but damn do I wish they’d reconciled things. He is truly an amazing Kermit and kept the personality so well intact.
Whitmire seems less inclined to appear alongside Kermit like Henson used to do (Jim Henson would do interviews and stuff with Kermit on his arm). Whitmire is either there as just himself, or there as Kermit.
I think Steve wanted to maintain the sense of Jim continuing on as much as possible and so never wanted to be seen as 'playing' Kermit. It's a very humble and respectful way to approach the character that at one point *was* Jim Henson, while allowing him to continue on.
Just spent the last twenty minutes telling myself if the camera zoomed outwards you would see a frog sitting on a chair...and I think I pulled it off...
Yes Frank is semi-retired. I still think even now Frank will always grieve Jim's loss. I know I do. I grew up with Sesame Street, Muppet babies, Fraggle Rock. It sounds cliche but Jim shaped my childhood. He was a brillant and just amazing human being. And while in my heart Kermit will always be Jim...Steve is definitely living up to it I think he's found his own Kermit after all this time and that's great to me.
I just L♥ve Kermit so much OMG!! Hes so cute he makes my heart warm and glowy!! Why are you so cute Kermit?? ^///^ Mr. Whitmire you are greatly loved and appreciated!! (especially by me♥) Also you're super cute too!! Why are you so adorable!! You're hogging all the cute!! Hugz♥
I can't say I grew up with the movies or the muppet show as I wasn't even born yet when they originally came out or aired. I used to watch reruns on Disney channel and the movies I'd watch on tv. I know Muppets take Manhattan I was only a year old so...but the rest I definitely grew up on.
the muppets are not just puppets, you know, you kind of forget he's not real, because in his own way he is real, with his own life and every thing. he gets some help sure, but still.
jo jefferson they are the only puppets I know of that can actually pull off an interview convincingly. You really believe that Kermit is an actual being in our world. It's just so natural. Special love to Steve Whitmire who is Kermit's puppeteer
It's funny how a puuppet or muppet rather can have such a personality that when I was watching this, I forgot that it was felt with ping-pong balls for eyes. Made me feel like a kid again!
pinkflower7783 it bothers me whenever people call The Muppets puppets. Always irks me. There's a difference that many people don't understand about that
@CatpurrRobertaBobbi You don't know that. I personally would love to see the muppet show come back. But I can garuntee you Frank would not be involved he's retired.
@randomheartofgold Yes because Kermit actually lives in our world you can meet him and have a conversation with him. Can't do that with shrek can you?!
oh my god wow you really saw through the illusion what a sleuth holy cow HEY GUYS CHECK OUT THIS GUY HE POINTED OUT THE FROG IS MADE OF CLOTH so edgy man, too cool for school, so adult much wow
The interviewer does such a great job, and asks Kermit some really interesting questions. One of the best interviews with an amphibian I’ve ever seen.
The fact he mentioned Sam and friends is a really deep cut. Steve knew his stuff
He was a big fan before he joined the Muppets.
This is everybody's dream come true. A twenty minute conversation with Kermit the frog.
Jian is so lucky.
Great interview. Jian is excellent. Special love for Steve Whitmire. He keeps Kermit and Jim Henson's spirit alive.
Steve never should have been fired.
Ditto. Thousands of years from now kids all over the galaxy will be watching the Muppets, because yes they do live forever.
"He had very warm hands."
-Kermit on Jim Henson
Kermit is alive , Jim could create a whole indentity for him .
We all loved u Kermit...my whole family and we always will.
I have to say Kermit is extremely well spoken and the interviewer is absolutely amazing.
Jim Henson references bring a tear to my eye...
Kermit is awesome. I forgot how great he is.
I love Kermit sooooo much can’t describe it 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Well Steve stated at one time even before Jim past away that he had heard Jim was gonna let him start doing some of Kermit's segments as he was busy with other projects. This comment hurts so much now
Disney and The Henson Family were out of pocket for firing Steve Whitmire
17 people can't find the rainbow connection
Also, I really respect the fact that Jian doesn’t look down at Steve sitting on the floor at any point during this interview.
Brilliant interview . Jian did and excellent job. I was even surprise by the quality and "Pertinence" of his questions. he did his homework! Kermit the Frog is a great guest to have on any show!
What an inspiration Kermit is. I wish he talked more about Jim Henson more. But, I still love the first talking frog, Kermit!
Jian is having a little too much fun with this, which I imagine every would in his place!
Love you Kermie, Jim would be so proud of you.
This is my favorite Studio Q interview!
"Do Muppets live forever?" ... You're darn right they do.
I love this segment. Makes me think of endearing souls I've met along the way. There's a tender humour that transcends. Thanks for posting.
Idk what went down that led to Steve’s firing, but damn do I wish they’d reconciled things. He is truly an amazing Kermit and kept the personality so well intact.
He was said to be difficult to work with and wanted more money I believe.
"Who's to stay how long they'll live, but if the fans want them to live, then they will."~Jim Henson
Thank you! Kermit rocks! Q rocks! Jian rocks! And CBC is in the groove!!!
Whitmire seems less inclined to appear alongside Kermit like Henson used to do (Jim Henson would do interviews and stuff with Kermit on his arm). Whitmire is either there as just himself, or there as Kermit.
Very neat observation! Both Steve and Kermit were equally charming!
@@QwithTomPower major respect to Jian for not once looking down at Steve. That’s gotta be hard to do since he’s literally right there
I think Steve wanted to maintain the sense of Jim continuing on as much as possible and so never wanted to be seen as 'playing' Kermit. It's a very humble and respectful way to approach the character that at one point *was* Jim Henson, while allowing him to continue on.
I miss Steve doing Kermit.
People are starting to respect Steve’s work as Kermit now I think after Matt took over
Just spent the last twenty minutes telling myself if the camera zoomed outwards you would see a frog sitting on a chair...and I think I pulled it off...
Damn straight, the muppets will always live forever
Yes Frank is semi-retired. I still think even now Frank will always grieve Jim's loss. I know I do. I grew up with Sesame Street, Muppet babies, Fraggle Rock. Awesome interview! Brought me back to my childhood :)
Loved the questions!
Yes, it was, very heavenly
I just L♥ve Kermit so much OMG!! Hes so cute he makes my heart warm and glowy!! Why are you so cute Kermit?? ^///^
Mr. Whitmire you are greatly loved and appreciated!! (especially by me♥) Also you're super cute too!! Why are you so adorable!! You're hogging all the cute!! Hugz♥
Julia WhiteHorse amen !!! I’m obsessed with Kermit when I see him I get emotional 😭 now is a other man voicing him I don’t like it
I love this!
I hope the Muppet Show comes back! They are the best :D
that was incredible
I can't say I grew up with the movies or the muppet show as I wasn't even born yet when they originally came out or aired. I used to watch reruns on Disney channel and the movies I'd watch on tv. I know Muppets take Manhattan I was only a year old so...but the rest I definitely grew up on.
LOL, how Jian didn't crack up at times is amazing.
the muppets are not just puppets, you know, you kind of forget he's not real, because in his own way he is real, with his own life and every thing. he gets some help sure, but still.
jo jefferson they are the only puppets I know of that can actually pull off an interview convincingly. You really believe that Kermit is an actual being in our world. It's just so natural. Special love to Steve Whitmire who is Kermit's puppeteer
so cute. i like they admit kermit and piggy are a real couple now
Kermit the Frog the myth the legend
Jian aks the tough questions even when interviewing a frog.
Hilarious puppeteer.
Still real to me dammit
Thanks for reminding us of that. But if you wanna break the illusion that much Steve is the one holding Kermit up.
Kermit is actually antron fleece with ping pong eyes.
when he laughed. i died a bit inside.
Kermit is funny
Omg you must be kidding. This is so full of win.
It's funny how a puuppet or muppet rather can have such a personality that when I was watching this, I forgot that it was felt with ping-pong balls for eyes. Made me feel like a kid again!
Woo Kermit
wow her takes it so seriously so cool
so true. we must let their wonderful history be, and look to the future.
Fun interview, and quick-wit on the puppeteer, well done! But sadly, to me, Kermit will never be the same to me since Jim's passing. :(
@twstdelf Kermit is still Kermit no it's not Jim but as they say the show must go on and I think Kermit's voice is fine.
@Kaleb34 He's Kermit, Kermit the frog! Can't you lose yourself for a second and forget that Kermit is a puppet!! Have some imagination!!!
@MistaMcBurf Cause Kermit rocks!
What an enjoyable interview.
Is anybody at CNN watching?
Amen!
its 2:30am how did i get here
Can you please not call Kermie a puppet. He's a muppet. We don't call Kermit a puppet in the muppet world. And he is real.
pinkflower7783 it bothers me whenever people call The Muppets puppets. Always irks me. There's a difference that many people don't understand about that
5 people don't have warm hands
Yeah only took 35 years for him to say so. XD
Because he's a natural, Jian is too nervous
Tell me about it!!!
@spongebobclinique Try Leland, Mississippi
@marielapenn I KNOW I AM SO HAPPY KERMIT IS NO LONGER COY ABOUT THAT! Sorry wasn't yelling just excited. LOL!
@chrisfIew Kermit runs anything he's in!
Nope they have cold feet!! LOL
Leave Kermit alone!!!
No
@CatpurrRobertaBobbi You don't know that. I personally would love to see the muppet show come back. But I can garuntee you Frank would not be involved he's retired.
Life's like a movie, write your own ending. Keep believing, keep pretending.
@MistaMcBurf Maybe because Kermit has been doing this for 35 years. :P
✨🌟✨
Kermit is from Toronto?? How he pronounce Toronto, sounds like he is from Toronto.
Its not the same without Jims voice
I'll take 'opinions straight out of 1991' for 500, Alex
@randomheartofgold Yes because Kermit actually lives in our world you can meet him and have a conversation with him. Can't do that with shrek can you?!
@PolyphonicPress Don't say "puppet" Kermit is real!
The day after Jim Henson passed away, I heard that Kermit was interviewed, and he was speechless.😂
@LeeStoner You wrong for that dude 😆
That’s just wrong! He couldn’t even move!
What?
@fatmusiclover Definitely Kermit.
50.00 I'm wife Peggy g chasoum

No he’s not
Jian
@ariexmae Sickco
Not the same without Jim
WTF?
This guys interviewing a non living piece of cloth lol
Don't look with your grown up eyes. Use the inner child.
He’s actually interviewing a frog.
oh my god wow you really saw through the illusion what a sleuth holy cow HEY GUYS CHECK OUT THIS GUY HE POINTED OUT THE FROG IS MADE OF CLOTH so edgy man, too cool for school, so adult much wow
it would've been hilarious if Kermit would go off on a tangent about his addiction to heroin.
I hate the muppe
