Fell off the keto wagon. Suffering from acid reflux. When I was on keto lifestyle change a couple years ago, i didn't have any bouts of suffering from acid reflux. Need to restart my keto experiences. I had lost over 30lbs.
Also need to change my diet as I just had surgery for DCIS ( ductal carcinoma in situ) precancerous tiny calcification in the milk duct. Blessings To You All

    1. Get rid of all leftover temptations
    2. Water fast 24-48 hours
    3. Forgive yourself
    4. Get plenty of real salt
    5. Get your minerals
    6. Have high fat/protein snacks ready (for a few days)
    7. Give your body time to readapt to fat burning

I was on keto three years, lost 30 plus and felt great. Two hip replacements, knee surgery, two years physical therapy , learning how to walk properly again Gained thirty pounds back, knee deep in sugar addiction , snacking constantly and completely bummed. Never thought I would be here again. Gearing up, getting my head in the right place to start again. Wish me luck.

Lost 80, can't take credit for it because diabetes did it for me. Keto kept it off. The holidays gave me back 20 pounds. I didn;t keep track of carbs as well as I should have. Now it's fasting time. It's amazing how fast the pounds pile on when your blood glucose is normal.

Your surgery could have contributed to your sugar addiction. This happened to me. After my knee replacement surgery I was on heavy pain meds but I was actually losing wieght. But once all the meds were taken away my appetite exploded. I honestly believe my addictive brain traded food and sugar for the pain meds I was taking. Because after my surgery I gained 60 pounds. I am now 3 weeks in to the conavoir diet. I am doing better but still struggling with cravings. You are not alone. Let's just keep moving forward!!! Good luck!!!

My whole family follows keto-even our 10 yr old skinny child. He does eat carbs at school and when he visits friends, but we try to not bring it home. Our pediatrician is on board with it. It is the proper human diet and you are less likely to "cheat" if it isn't in your home. Now, dont get me wrong, we eat off plan probably more often than we should. But don't beat yourself up because your body is different than theirs. You can be skinny and unhealthy on the inside.

    • @jellybablush
      @jellybablush 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

That's a difficult position to be in. At the end of the day keto is a very low inflammation diet, and even if your weight hasn't responded to it yet, it's likely that you will experience other benefits first such as better sleep, more stable mood etc, things that your skinny family members may be having trouble with. Focus on the positives :)

Wow, your right about the weight gain being almost all water Doc! I fell off the wagon for eight days and indulged in every food I missed - I put 12lbs on in that short time, but a visit to Olive Garden and an order of their endless soup and salad followed by a 36 hour fast (using my trusty electrolyte powder!) and it's almost all out of me! Minor inconvenience of going to the bathroom every 45 minutes (made nighttime sleep impossible though). Today I'm strictly keto keeping carbs under 40 grams and still visiting the restroom frequently. Tomorrow I'll do another 36 hour fast to get back into the fight. Experimenting with Alternate Day Fasting for the next week or two to make up for lost time. Thanks for the encouraging words in this video. Saving it for future breaks or falls.
    Be well.

The first of Sept I was diagnosed with COVID, the wonderful virus that just keeps on giving! COVID kicked my IBS into overdrive. BC (before covid) I had to get lots of fiber and the constipation was fine, now I have to eat stuff like white rice, white potatoes, low fiber foods and low fat to keep the diarrhea in check and the intestinal spasms at bay! All the lovely stuff that makes me store fat like crazy! I will have to tailor my keto diet to my IBS because it is really bad right now. I am now full of inflammation and edema so it is going to be a balancing act. I’m watching this in July because I just spent 10 days hospitalized and the glucose IVs and forced carb filled nutrition (I was there for seizures from hypoglycemia ) were the way they treated me and now I feel super horrible. I’ve been clean keto for over two years and having so many bad things put in my body was hugely discouraging.

I have taken a day and gone off the rails in the past and it's not worth it! Bloated, water gain, headaches, listless, cravings that woke me up! it took me weeks to get back to my keto normal feeling. This time I planned and stayed on track. Your advice is great and I second bacon as a snack for the cravings. The salt, crunch/chew, fat and protein will help a lot.

I always come to your page when I'm looking for motivation and inspiration. I just started back on Keto 7 days ago and I had that one habit that I didn't want to give up. My local coffee shop, everyday I would get an iced coffee with Sugar free Carmel sauce. I thought how bad could be ? Well 3 days in when I still couldn't get into ketosis I decided to give up my last vice, no more iced sugar free Carmel coffee. Boom! That was it! As soon as I gave it up I've been in ketosis consistently for the last 4 days. I decided to go to the website for my favorite my favorite coffee shop and it turns out my morning coffee with the sugar free Carmel had 40-60 grams of carb! So far the most important thing for me has been having healthy options prepared and ready to go. Every few days I put several chicken thighs in the instant pot and shred them. If I've waited to long to eat I just take out some shredded chicken with avocado or melted cheese and I'm good to go. I also boil lots of eggs, and make keto peanut butter cookies. Having those simple options on hand have made this extremely easy to do . I love this channel and look forward to new videos every week.

Then there are those of us who stuck with it 100%... for a total of 32 lbs lost since Ash Wednesday 2020. I have never stopped crazing chocolate but I refuse to give in; I worked too hard putting those temptations aside since February. A big help for me was to be able to retreat to my craft room in another part of the house. Getting seriously involved with my hobby (cardmaking) was a great distraction from all that chocolate hovering in my daydreams, lol.
Interesting commentary about Atkins with your colleague... I was one of those who only heard the (inevitable) disinformation that he died from complications of the diet he advocated.
Regrets? The only one is that I didn’t start this process decades ago. Thank God for you and the others fighting for the truth!

But after my 12 hour shift today I caved in to 4 toasted bread rolls, 2 giant triangles of white chocolate Toblerone, a few tangy salt and vinegar crisps and a few small glasses of dry white wine. TOTAL 182 carbs!!! (yes I looked them all up!).
I'm hoping that I can reverse this if I have zero carbs for 4 days (182 carbs divided by 50 carbs per day = 3.64 days).
