Around 1994 we were traveling from our native place Deogad to Mumbai in a willys jeep, mansoon was just got kicked off, and I was at the back seat.....at that time private vehicles are not common at night time on old mumbai goa highway....and in kashedi ghat I had witnessed each and every tree illumined with thousands of such blinking fireflies in complete darkness.....that was an unforgettable journey....now a days it seems like they are totally vanished 😢

Growing up in 1980s in north India, fireflies were a daily sight when we slept under the sky 🌌

I have lots of firefly in my backyard. But now the modern LED lights, create problem to them. The lights attracted them and later they are killed. I try to make my backyard dark and chemical free but how far I will able to I don't know. When I tell people use LED Judiciously people think I am a Mad guy.
