      Hey Chantae! I’m from Belize, considering moving out there to study law as it’s more affordable for me. I’m considering settling down out there as well. Would love to talk some more with you and your partners if that’s somehow possible! Please do let me know, I appreciate the consideration either way 😃

    I grew up in Fiji and i'm still traumatized by those neighborhood dogs ! They will charge out (silently) out of no where for your ankles. Enjoyed the interview and she was spot on with everything she covered. Vinaka.

      I lived in Fiji and adopted a stray dog and we didn’t have a fence and very often she was chased around by the stray bully dogs.

    I have lived in several countries over the years but not Fiji. I have been to Philippines, Okinawa, Miyako, Guam and Saipan and finally Costa Rica. Next trip to FIJI

      How was Okinawa and Miyako? Also here's some islands to go to, Comoros, Mauritius, Cabo Verde, Saint Lucia, Hawaii, Kiribati, Bora Bora, Cocos, (Keeling) Mayotte, Cyprus and then there's some Greek, Spanish and french islands that are great also. Countries you should visit are Cambodia, Thailand, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Turkey, Georgia, Portugal, Sweden, The Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, South Korea and Jordan. There's alot honestly, maybe to many 😂.

      Great question, but it's a bit out of our general realm of knowledge. We would have to source that answer for you.

    Can you get your car shipped there or should you sell them.

    • @Castaway.....
      @Castaway..... 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can ship a vehicle to Fiji that is no more than 5 years old. Most vehicles have diesel engines here.

      I think 🤔 there is massive import tax so it might be better to sell and then buy a used one there

    What's the story with health care in Fiji? Is there a medical plan that can be purchased for a extended stay

    • @ExpatsEverywhere
      @ExpatsEverywhere  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe the best place to start would be a company like www.insurednomads.com/
      The reason that we suggest that is because we interviewed the founder of Insured Nomads, and he (Andrew) is a great guy that's really straight forward. Josh and Kalie of ExpatsEverywhere are moving to Portugal and are getting a plan through Insured Nomads that they're happy with. This is a genuine response and we're not getting any sort of kick back from Insured Nomads (although Josh said he wouldn't mind if Andrew of Insured Nomads would throw a dollar his way.)
      Please don't hesitate to reach back out for help and we'll do our best.
      Thanks for the comment!

    You are not allowed to own property there you are not allowed to fish there you are not allowed to have firearms or Macy’s or any defensive weapons whatsoever it is only a place for tourists you can snorkel and you can do touristy things but you cannot Fish

    • @misivonovunivi8837
      @misivonovunivi8837 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No. You are totally wrong to say that you cannot own a property in Fiji. Fiji is a very democratic island nation. The native Fijians are called i Taukei. About 80 percent of the land belongs to them. Most of their lands are leased by tenant for agricultural purposes. And with consensus you can have a talk with a landowning unit if you want to build a property for residential purposes. Normally for residential purpose you will given a lease for 99 years. You will be given a Title for your residential property. Another 15 percent of the land is owned by government called Crown land which you can lease from the government. If you want to lease a land for agricultural purpose or for residential you can go direct to the Lands Department for more consultation. And 5% of the land are freehold which is own by an individual or as a family estate. In regards to this land you can buy direct from the owner. As an expatriate you can buy land in Fiji. Owner of the Red Bull has an island called Vatuvara Island in Vanua Levu. Many celebrities and billionaires have their private islands and hotels in Fiji.
