I think all 3 makes turned out superb. You clearly are an artist. Very creative, and we all love your makes. Thanks for sharing ❤

Love the painting Steve, you say that you are not an artist, but you truly are. - Beverly

Please stop saying you're not an artist. You absolutely are. Your stuff is awesome. 🎉 Your art won't appeal to everyone, but that means nothing. I, personally, don't care for Monet. Art is in the eye of the beholder. And you, sir, are an artist.

I don't know how Steve, but I missed this video when it first came out. What on earth was I doing? lol. Please stop saying you aren't an artist because an artist is someone who creates art, and you DO create art, therefore you're an artist! Love the way you upcycled those pieces, especially the picture. Very nicely done!

Hey Steve, you may already know this, but to separate the napkin, use a bit of tape on the plain side. Just stick it on and pull. The layers will separate really easily!

I like them. I really like the vase, though. Would you believe that my hair used to be a near match to the vase color? Yes, I had magenta hair for quite a while.😁💗

6:33 you could also use it to create windows for putting your photographs. You could attach a flat strip of magnet all around each square or some really thin magnets to each corner or along the sides. Glue the magnets to the cardboard centre square (or other frame windows) frame to stop them from moving. And then you can put your photos or even drawings etc onto the cut out frames & keep them in place with another magnet. This means less tape or blue tac being used which reduces the risk of the tape or blue tac pulling away bits of paper when removed. It also reduces waste as the magnets can be used multiple times & have a long life. And you can update what you want to show off in your frames.

You could also do different shaped frames like circles, ovals, heart shapes etc. using the wallpaper liner Steve uses, if you don’t glue it to the frame itself, you can take it out & change it up with a new piece with different shapes, but instead of getting rid of it, keep a folder that has a strong backing & place it into there where it won’t crumple up. You can then make some different options of cut out shapes & sizes.

You could if you wanted to, get some small circular magnets, that are only a few millimetres in depth. Get a drill & use a drill bit that has the same diameter as the magnet plus 1mm. Drill a hole into the back of the frame the same depth of the magnet+1mm. You could use painters tape to measure the depth the drill bit goes into to make it easier to see when you need to stop. Then add some hot glue or super glue in each hole, no more than 1mm deep & add the magnet into the hole so that it stays flush with the frame. This way you can add your paper/card frame you created & instead of gluing it in, attach it with very thin magnets. This will make it much easier to change up the frame shapes, sizes & quantities of smaller frames.

Where do you buy the yacht varnish?

  • @Becka.M-D

2:45 Would it be easier to paint the back of the cardboard before gluing it to the frame?
You could also give it a coat of the yacht varnish spray before attaching to the frame. If you were concerned about it not sticking together, use some washi tape or painters tape & put a strip on the two ends that will attach to each other before painting. Remove the tape when the paint & varnish is dry. And then attach to the frame.
Washi tape is not as tacky as painters tape & is unlikely to peel any of the cardboard it’s attached to. Painters tape is unlikely to peel away any cardboard, but sometimes it will do especially if the cardboard is very thin & has had a layer of the cardboard peeled away from it leaving a textured surface. Either option works, use which of them you prefer. I would not recommend anything stronger or sellotape.
