They were right. It wasn't about them being lazy, the fact is Larian is in a special position where they have the funds they need, but they don't have anyone to answer to. So they can kinda do whatever they want, when they want. Most AAA games, especially western ones, aren't in that position.

I remember the burning blood. I too was a wild magic sorcerer. I managed to turn us into cats and dogs once. Fun times including an enemy magic missiling multiple targets all being me. Brought me from full to no health before I could process what had happened.

When I bought Baldyrs gate 3 for my steam deck I got to the village that had all the goblins in it one of the things I did was walk to a group of goblins had a tied up midget to a mill I pulled the wrong lever and it sped up and launched the midget that had me laughing so hard didn't mean to do that I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.😂😂😂
Same, i was looking for ten minutes looking for the lever to slow down the windmill. I found it, and didnt notice the other lever, i mean it said brake release, what was i supposed to expect :)
I felt bad as he flew in the air, while laughing just a little.

I likehow in depth the game is. Like just the first act has several ways to get through it. On one I brute forced my way through the goblins then I started a spider uprising on the second one and on my current one I took the evil route and helped the goblins kill all the druids and stuff.

Aside from the woke cultist nonsense and pandering to the same in the character creator, BG3 is an absolute gem of a game.
In a way, it's a throwback to what RPG games were about before the whole industry became mired in american predatory style corporate capitalism.
Only with better, and better used, tech to allow for more customization and player agency.
It reminded me of franchises like Dragon Age and Mass Effect before EA sunk its rotten teeth into them and Bioware became yet another zombie studio.
