The first time I saw this video, I did not get half way through it before I thought, "NOPE!" But I really liked the emblem and thought it would look cool on my 2020 Lariat. So decided to watch the video over and over again until the steps seemed less intimidating and started making sense. Pretty soon I started seeing the steps in my head. The instructions are pretty thorough and the install was easier than I initially thought. The one thing I wished he had mentioned is that you will need to cut a notch in the underside of the fuse box lid. Otherwise you will end up pinching the cable when you put the lid on. Other than that, this is an excellent video and I could not be happier with how it looks. Thank you!
I just hooked a chain onto my grill and wrapped the other end around a street light and threw it into reverse. A lot quicker method. Did cost me a lil more in the long run than I wanted to spend but job complete!
the equivalent to the "#18 fuse spot" (Ignition switch and passive-entry passive-start start stop switch) in a 2021 f150 is not under the hood, but below the passenger seat inside the cabin... how am I supposed to connect the wiring????
Hey Mark, we think that you may have to extend the wiring for that application, but you may want to call Putco directly to see if they have another solution for the 2021. Their number is 800-247-3974. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the tutorial, luckily on my 2017 f-150 you don’t need to pull the whole grille assembly off I was able to reach in from the front and do the install
@@cdnconcrete392 there’s enough room directly behind the grill and the shutters to get your hand back there with a small wrench/spanner to get the nuts off, you will probably get scraps and cuts on your hand and wrist but it’s worth the little bit of pain and grief over having to pull the whole front end off
The design behind the lighted emblem is that it would remain illuminated as long as the truck is on. When the truck is turned off, the emblem light will turn off. @@TheCarCrazyGuy gotcha. I was gonna do this install when I swap out the headlights so I have to pull the grill regardless, but not pulling the shutters will deff save some time.

Well, I bought one. Found a shortcut too. Remove the hood latch and you’re able to remove the emblem with a 1/4” 6 inch ratchet extension
You should make a video of that shortcut
I did the same. Waaay easier! Then I taped the nuts to the socket in order to attach the new emblem.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pricey and after seeing what you need to go through, I changed my mind. But it is very cool.
All this work to reach the emblem.. It is like i dont even wanna change the emblem now 🙈

And that's the diesel! Nice 😎. I've got an 18. Just ticked over 200k🥳
Will this fit the front of a 2019 ford ranger ?

How long did it take for it to get there
Thank God! I'm glad I read your comment. Now I just need to find a way to wire it to the fog lights to only come on at night.
Wait you have a 2017 and you didn’t have to take anything apart?
I have one and I want to buy this emblem

@@HK304 how did that turn out? I might be interested in doing something similar
Thanks for the video, very detailed on how to remove the grille and replace the emblem.
Thanks for watching!
Way too much work
10000% and it’s all not that great for the effort
😂 you call that too much work ?? Wow
7:17 Deez nuts... LOL
haha
😭
Just purchased for my 2018 f150, I was wondering what fuse location I would use so the light isn’t constantly running.

That same fuse location is what I use for drl Morimoto headlights any other fuse locations? Or can I splice into wire to same wire from drl's?
Have you figured this out yet? I'd like to know too.
Hello, great video! Will this fit a 2018 Ford Expedition?

Does this grill removal work for a 2015 XLT with sport grill?

A lot of work (and potential problems) for such a small upgrade. Wow
I don’t see a fuse location #18? I have a 2022 lariat? What am I missing?
Will this emblem fit on a 2019 Ford Explorer
Will this fit the 92-97 fords?
Unfortunately not :( This emblem is for 2015-2022 Fords.
Does this fit on all models?

188 bucks are they gold plated leds behind that acrylic
Can this work on my crownvic?
Yep make sure to use fuse 18 . I made the mistake of using a different fuse and it didn’t work.
That light never turn off?
All you have to do is remove the latch and you can reach the back of the emblem.
Does your truck not have the active grille shutters? Seems like those have to come out to get to the back of the grille.
sixsixST2 Once the latch is out you manually open the shutters and with a long extension they are easily reached.

wish they made this emblem for the taurus front n rear
Neat installation video. Thanks. 👍🏽🙂.
Man I been done forgot where all those clips and screws go
They really just make these trucks to snap together😂
ridiculously time consuming, not to mention the likelihood of breaking clips along the way. I like the hood latch idea.
