Tensura being so popular even when the reviews are negative, is still good for publicity, because when things get interesting, everyone will watch it again, Even though it is the worst season in terms of emotion and drama, the following ones will simply be another story of so much action and things that will happen that will surely break the internet.

It would be helpfull if you showed the ranking on screen (You now, #1...., #2...., #3.... enz). I like how you edit in the poster of the show you are talking about. But for me it would be easier to see which show is above which instead of remembering the order you talked about them. Love the content and efford :)

Monogatari will eventually top the blu-ray sales like the previous seasons(15-20k minimum), so I'm not too worried about it. This series may not be quite popular among casual anime fans but its fans are quite dedicated

Monogatari series is really hard to get into, the watching order isn't really clear for casual viewers, plus; at least in my case, the complete series isn't available in my country at Crunchyroll, so; if I want to watch it, I have to find out what's the correct order first and then sail on the "Black Pearl", basically, is a hassle. Another thing against the series, IMO, is that it is, at the same time, really heavy in rapid dialog and really visually rich so, is hard to follow the subs sometimes.

Makeine being ranked that low is a legit war crime. It’s better than all the anime this season combined. And Makeine being lower than Roshidere is shocking, considering the high quality of every episode in Makeine. Every episode has a gag and fun interactions between Kunumizu and Yanami.
Deer anime dropping so fast is expected. The rom-coms this season, Roshidere and Makeine, are funnier than a comedy anime. It’s probably a case of 4-koma manga being unlucky. Imagine Shikanoko getting the Bocchi the Rock! treatment (which is also originally 4-koma). 4-koma anime definitely need some creative input & attention to translate the jokes into the anime medium.

I still like the show, but episode 1 gave us some bad signs of what they were doing with it.
      1. episode 1 was censored & it showed that they want it to be for "modern audiences".
      2. There's an article about the Western Localizer proudly bragging about how she changed some words for the show. And it's no wonder why Japan is deciding to have Ais translate anime & manga instead of humans.

@@Samsapopin Yea that’s why I’m not bothering to watch it, any censorship just irks me beyond belief, especially when it’s censoring of Ecchi content. It’s an Ecchi anime, who on earth do you think your audience is? It makes absolutely no sense to me, especially since everyone has seen how popular Gushing Over Magical Girls was. The studio that did that should be praised to the heavens, actually making it even more Ecchi than the manga.
High School DXD did that too, the manga of that is actually really tame, it’s really disappointing compared to the anime.

I love the Monogatari series too, but I know why it’s struggling in the West: It’s too complicated to get into for most people. Figuring out in what order to watch all the different series practically requires a PhD. They should put the entire series on one platform and give them one name divided up into numbered series to simplify the process. It’s just too daunting to get into for a lot of people!

I think the Monogatari fell off due to the poor naming and labeling of the season releases. People missed a season and when they came back to start again had a confused list with no indication of what to watch and in what order. It was also split between legal release services that broke a lot of the non high seas viewers.

@@otakuspirit Crunchyroll is releasing the first part of "Kizumonogatari" in theatres for one day only on August 28th. I want to believe it's a sign of change, & it means they're looking to collect the rest of "Bakemonogatari", as well as release "Koyomimonogatari" & "Zoku Owarimonogatari" (which I could have sworn was on there last month but seemed to have disappeared when I tried to watch it there a few days ago) but then I have to ask why they're releasing it now, in the middle of "Off & Monster Season" instead of a few months before as a promotion for it, & why is the advertising so minimal? I only found out about it because I'm subscribed to Crunchyroll's TH-cam channel. If I wasn't, I might not have known about it either.

In the end, slime never had enough to keep me going through this much of a slog and it's not like we have a lack of isekai anyway.

    • @WinterGirlRules
      @WinterGirlRules 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@otakuspiritI had the courage to watch the "Monogatari" series in chronological order. Of course, that basically means I just decided to watch it in chronological order, but you can make anything sound more positive by adding courage to it. 😂 However, considering how much time it took, & all the different sites/etc. I had to go through to find it all, it was no easy task. I can only imagine how hard it is for the average anime viewer, even if you watch it in release order, or really any order. That doesn't even cover the rapid fire skills you need to pause it to read the flash texts. I can see why viewership is low. If you're not caught up, it's going to take a while. I just barely finished.
However, I think the next arc could be a great introduction for new fans, if it can be advertised properly, especially with the first "Kizumonogatari" film being released alongside it.

I'm so far behind on Monogatari. I watched the first two seasons, in terms of chronological release. Will need a lot of down time at the right moment to marathon it.
Oshi no ko seems overrated. I don't even mean that as a knock on it; it's a good show with a solid premise for wanting revenge. It just doesn't strike me as "among the best" as opposed to merely good. Maybe its first OP carried it a bit. I do think the reincarnation aspect is under-utilized, at least so far. A doctor would have insane knowledge relative to expectations for a kid at any age. The things you are required to know to be one involve not just a tremendous volume of memorization, but also the cognitive ability to apply all that alongside both complexity and nuance (small details matter, sometimes a lot). The guy would have seemed like a genius even if he tried to hide it somewhat, because he would have adult knowledge as a newborn on top of being necessarily well above average intelligence even in his first life. The girl is more plausible; she was young and sickly as opposed to a far-above-average adult who went through extensive professional training. Redoing your life from early teens vs after years of experience in a profession are very different starting points, and I don't think Aqua reflects this.

They adapt 91% to 94% to 94.5% / 95% ( shorter than weekly manga chapter with 13 pages ) webtoon source material and cut some small minor scene / dialogue . Iam supporting tog s2 because i want more tower of god anime season in the future .

If I remember correctly, the last season of monogatari had no legal way to watch in the west. So as someone who wasn't able to watch it legally, I really have no drive to continue watching it, just like I have no drive to watch jojo part 6 because I have no desire get netflix and the way they released it killed all the hype.

The biggest shock for me is monogatari being racked AT ALL. It's shit. It's been shit. it's always shit. anything from SHAFT is shit. A lot of people in the west are sick of it now because it's being run into the ground.

Nokotan has maybe one or two good jokes per episode. They filled the trailer with all the good stuff, once people watched an actual episode it's just not that good. Sadly, their meme game is S+

Also Koshitan is the only slightly interesting character on the show

I'm just not nearly lolicon enough for monogatari.

I’m not surprised EluSam is not doing as well here in the West. While it’s very high quality production, the heavy Japanese history story and tone shift between comedy and drama isn’t clicking with most people.

True, I dropped it after a single episode. Its weird and sudden shifts in tone are not my cup of tea, and I usually love historical japanese shows like Heike Monogatari (2022). I think this would have been a better show without the misplaced and weird "comedy" bits

I guess this is a west issue as it’s doing well and is highly rated with its “misplaced comedy” in Japan LOL. I think the tonal shift works because we are following kids in a brutal era so it’s showing both sides. The comedy bits are hit or miss but that’s most comedy animes as that’s more subjective. Also this is a shonen not seinen so most jokes are for the younger audiences.

Nah Elusisive Samurai is way too weird and has identity crisis to be popular mainstream 💀. I can't determine what it wants to be, too violent and darkfor a kid show but too lighthearted and comedic at times. It's like the anime is bip*lar or something. Can't pinpoint what kind of audience it wants to have

Or hear me out, it’s both. We’re following kids in a brutal era so they’re showing both sides. The tonal shifts makes sense. It’s a mixture of shonen and seinen
