Nice one mate, good to see this combo method being used and demonstrated so well. My tip, near the end of your Airfryer cook time, plop a tablespoon of butter into a mug with about 100mls of milk, whack into the microwave for 45-60 seconds or until the butter melts. Then, when you take your spud out of the airfryer, while it’s still it’s absolutely raging hot, CAREFULLY scoop out your filling, bash it into a bowl, add the warm butter/milk along with some grated cheese, a bit of WHITE pepper, and maybe some chopped scallions/chives if you’re feeling proper fancy. Whip the bollocks out of all that with a fork for about 30 seconds and then transfer it back into your spud skin. You can sprinkle it with some more cheese and bacon bits and bang it back into the Airfryer on full belt for 2 more minutes for that knockout final flourish (and believe me it’s worth doing) but even without that it’ll change your effing religion brother. Get into it.
I’ve tried different versions of cooking jacket potatoes and this is the best and only way I do them now. I’ve put it in my recipe book as the 7/20 jacket ❤
normally do ours for 45 to 60 mins in the oven - never again ! Just tried this & they were perfect. As you say the timing depends on the size of the potato's your cooking so testing is the answer. THANK YOU so much for the enlightenment 👍👍
First of all I wished you would said the cook time Fahrenheit instead of Celsius I googled it and it’s around 392° to 400° Fahrenheit! I also would have melted the cheese! That being said😂 I LOVE ❤️ the way you cut the cooking time! I have seen England jacket potatoes recipes and say to myself that I would do this sometime in the future but never 👎🏽 did because of the LOOONG Cooking time! Thanks for this INCREDIBLE HACK!!! I will Definitely try this and I will let know how it came out!!👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
What a great recipe Leigh. I don't like to use a microwave for food or drinks myself but I'll make an exception in this case as an occasional treat. For what it's worth, my favourite topping is cheese and curried beans with loads of freshly cracked pepper on top 😁.
I don't have the stats to hand but minute to minute air fryers are cheaper to run. But also lots of dishes cook faster so when combined it is cheaper as its no on as long.
So essentially you could make wedges this way. In the microwave then cut into wedges, oil with olive oil and then put in the ninja. What do you think? X
That’s what I do. In fact as I’m watching this video I’m scoffing real potato wedges/chips. Cut them nice and thick. I steam them in a microwave steamer for about 10-12 minutes, depending on how many, coat them in either melted lard or beef dripping, season to taste, then 20 minutes in the air fryer. Delicious. P. S. Try smoked paprika seasoning, lovely.

Hope it comes out nice when you try it.
I prefer the smaller supermarket ones and use two per portion, with different fillings on each jacket.
Great video!! But all that butter 😮
Coleslaw and beans, trust me, it's good.
This is the best solution to make Jacket potatoes thank u so much my children love it❤

Curried beans, yum!
Wow a hour .are air fryers 3xspensice to use please.i have orderd one plus i dont have a microwave

Without a microwave to part-cook them, they'll take 30 mins in the airfryer.
Lovely ❤
how long in the airfryer if I only got tiny potatoes?
This has me scavenging for beans in my kitchen at 1 am
Pop it back in the AF to brown the cheese a little
No salt for me. But worked really well ! Thanks !

How to make air fryer Potatoe : starts with Potatoe in microwave 😂
Your point is?
Gonna try this as an hour in the air fryer is too long and I think the skin gets too crispy and dry.
i did 6 minutes in the microwave with it in water and then 8 minutes in the air fryer to finish it
My favourite toppings are cheese, beans tuna and bacon bits
Thanks for the tutorial because i just got an air fryer! This save a lot of time AND energy!!
No problem, hope you get on well.
This is my method lad known about this for yonks 😂
Potatoes do not explode (even at random). Put your big boy pants on and don't stab them once.
DJ Vlad making jacket potatoes! boom!
can i use vegetable oil or olive oil
Either will be ok
Did you put the Ninja on "roast" or "airfry" ??
Doesn't make a difference when you change the temp but air fry is 200 roast is 190
At last something that doesnt tske the same amount of time as a nirmal oven lol
Did it this way 3 mins in a microwave, then Ninja Speedi for 20 mins on Steam and Airfry at 185 C with a cup of water. Four potatoes in a bag range.
Heard good things about the speedi

Call Murphies at our place, its what mum and dad call it,so carries on at our,no disrespect intended if your surname is Murphy.🤣😂
i don't have microwave
Buy one!
That's just a baked potato... You'd be cooking it twice (once after opening and adding stuff) for it to be "Jacket"
Nope. In the UK we typically call them jacket potatoes.
Degrees for US
You don't really need one to find the answer but Google will help........
@@fabianmckenna8197 fab pithy response😉.
Don't you guys have russet potatoes over their? A russet is a proper baked potato.
Proper in YOUR opinion
Try it with real butter instead of that man made fake stuff and it will be even better.
👍👍👍
It’s 2 molecules away from being engine oil 😂
Flora is actually alright. Don’t think this comment is valid.
Flora isn't butter, why are you giving them the plug, why not say STORK Margarine??
@@CookinWithJ it’s not valid, it,water, try it on toast and you get watered down bread.. enjoy
Mmm mouth watering 💦
You need chunna and crispy onion on top, ficking go on lad
Is that a great combo?
Based on your comment i bought crispy onions and already having tuna haha, its good!
tuna and mayo or straight tuna with cripsy onion over?
I live in America you should use Fahrenheit
