Great install video but it sure would have helped to see how to install the backup sensors too
An excellent bumper for the price point and better than stock for sure! I just helped my son install one on his rig last weekend.
Very easy to install easy to follow instructions, especially if you have the factory hitch assy installed.
A couple of tips:
1: pull the wire harnes through the license plate light holes, then plug lights into the harnes and insert lights into the holes.
2.The holes for the license plate lights and the plug for the trailer lights are a bit big, allowing for quite a bit of "wiggle" room. To keep the plug and the lights from vibrating, we used some black rtv silicone on the back of them before inserting into the holes. Worked perfectly, once dried the plug and lights feel solid.
3.The wire harness for the trailer lights is too short and no longer reaches once this bumper is installed. Looking for an extension now, otherwise we will be extending the wires soon.

@@jessehernandez2812I have this bumper and i removed some of the clips holding the harness in order to pull it closer to the connector.
Do you make a bumper that DOES NOT have the square holes for the lights? I DO NOT want the rear lights.
Can you do a video on hooking up lights.
If the truck comes with blind spot monitors what can be done with those. This truck did not seem to have them and did not see the brackets for them?

TWO IMPORTANT TIPS:
1. if you do have the parking sensors, put them in the bumper BEFORE installing the bumper.
2. do a temporary removal of the tailgate to tighten the bolts that are difficult to reach.
18:50 The hitch plug is not secured. it popped out.

Yeah, I noticed this - seems odd to make such a nice looking product and miss some of the obvious things.

How many square spacers are needed to level out the bumper ?
They failed in one little detail: they need to cut out the two hole for the factory license plate lights, for the entire assembly, no just the lights. The license plate lights will be shining upwards.

Just installed this bumper on a 2017 tacoma sport and the wire for the trailer connector doesn't reach I had to do some cutting and be careful with the back up sensor because they are very easy to break oh and the license plate lights are very loose and in the video they didn't move them because they also know 😀
also had to cut too! disappointed!
I now know why there isn't a video install on the bumper and how to install the rear sensors. It's a complete joke to install them. Plan on double the time from this videos suggested time frame.
@TheButterbean911 - any tips on how to install the rear sensors? Manufacturer’s written instructions are also a joke.
I just did mine and it took an hour and a half. The instructions show you how to install the backup sensors, that what the tiny screws are for. Pay attention people.
Not to mention you break those things taking them out. 265$ a lice unless you can get the grommet
What about my dear sensors cuz the way you removed the bumper it removes all the wires for the sensors
Mine also arrived scratched up, gash on one of the hooks, the passenger side is a huge gap and not flush with the body compared to the light. Tried to realign but bolt holes do not line up or ability to set back farther. Disappointed as well with the large gap between the tailgate and bumper. No phone number to reach BodyArmor for support on these design flaws or bad batch of product
Would you be able to reach those forward allen bolts if you take the tailgate off ?
It's honestly not worth the time. How she did it is the fastest way.
That’s what I did, I found it easier than tightening it with the wrench

the weight of the box from fed ex said 110lbs when i got mine so id say 100
2 hours is not accurate, I’m 1.5 hours in and the license plate lights not coming as shown in the video

What a load of shit. No video for the sensors. The slots for the sensors are too small. The holes need to be drilled out better. The trailer plug sticks out too far and the harness has to be pulled tight to make it plug into the outlet. No mention that I saw about BSM not working in the product description.At least it looks good and is durable...
some of the welds on that bumper you are installing look like crap.

These strong bumpers are DEADLY on both ends. ! I want one for my new Tacoma but don't forget all vehicles are designed to crumble for our safety !
I just bought this bumper and waiting for the weekend to install. I noticed the trailer plug almost fell out while you were installing your license plate. Is this a problem with this bumper that you didn't want to address or no?? To thick for the retainer clips maybe? There is nothing more annoying than seeing a problem that it appears the seller is trying to avoid talking about.
it doesn't fit perfect. A little disappointing!
