    Really great video. I bought a set of the same shocks for my wrangler JL I still have not installed. I looked up AccuTune and they are 20 min from my house. Gonna send these out for a Tune asap. THANKS!

    Awesome video brother! I'm going through some issues with my RK shocks that came with my lift kit and always bottoming out. Just feels like I'm always hitting dips or bumps and riding the bump stops. They just don't seem to be able to handle the weight of the diesel. I was looking into these Fox shocks and I'm pretty sure your video just sold me on them! And the fact that Accutune will custom tune to your vehicle is sweet! Thanks

      Pedro I’m super happy if it helped at all!! I try to show as much detail because our diesels are soooooo far different in so many ways . I can’t stress how much it will help!! Now a month pasted install and I purposely aim for to harder lips and sharp pot holes to see what happens. Faster at that! Dialing them in has been a dream man. They are literally built for us and slow us to bomb the dirt and streets and forget about all those harsh G’outs and bump stop back breakers !! Accutune was awesome to work with and it made it all worth it!! I would do ten times over at the same price because it has changed the truck that much. From high priced rough ass bolt bucket to exactly what you envisioned when you bought it !! It’s not affectionally known as the ROAD HAMMER 🔨 😁😁 thanks for your nice worlds bro 🙏

    I think Accutune tells Fox how they want them tuned and Fox builds your shocks with the tune prescribed by Accutune. This keeps them factory sealed from the Fox factory with the Accutune tune inside.

      # buck thank you I couldn’t agree more. Building this rig I knew it’s what I wanted to do from the job, I just had to wait a long time to make it come to happening. Accutune was phenomenal to work with and they got a spot on the first time. Definitely goes to show you should spend where it matters most. Thanks for always supporting

    What valve tune did you go with was a a adventure tune or dual sport tune?

    • @maximumoverland
      @maximumoverland  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks for jumping here and adding to our conversation!!
      So had accutune do a complete custom set up because of the weight of my rig and how I wheel.
      I crawl pretty fast but I also love high speed road and trails so with how heavy this dude is we both decided I needed to revalve completely.

      @@maximumoverland they have an adventure tune a dual sport tune and a trail tune what tune was your closer too? They recommend me an adventure tune and said than it would sit at the softest setting and from there make it harder if i had too

    • @maximumoverland
      @maximumoverland  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Steve, just from knowing how my Wrangler was set up in Rev1 the adventure would be a similar set up.
      I use heavy oil and do custom valving only for the low speed side to help with weight control. All this comes from racing moto for 12 years.
      With out trucks we do a lot of overlanding , which requires tons of weight but we also have a sand park area close where we do high speed stuff and just crawling.
      So I hope this helps, I’m all ears if you have any other questions for sure. 🙏🏼

    What did you end up setting the front shocks at for everyday driving?

    • @maximumoverland
      @maximumoverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for jumping in here and commenting. So, because I had to go with EVO HD front 4" springs my setting may be a little different if you have the standard Metal Cloak Gladiator front springs. That being said I ran the Compression dial (grey dial) at 4 clicks and the Low-speed adjuster at 5 clicks (orange dial). It really works really well every well, and the only time I made adjustments offroad was in super high-speed stuff or really bad corrugated roads. I hope this helps and if you liked the video please give it a like and maybe subscribe considering its free to you!!
      Thanks !!

    Why dont we do a gear breaking when we first buy a vehicle?

    • @maximumoverland
      @maximumoverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So actually this is a long explanation, because there’s definitely Room for interpretation. But technically all vehicles have a rough 500 mile break in. Most of the time everybody assumes that it’s only for the engine, don’t exceed 75 miles an hour, don’t maintain the same speed for a long period of time , allow the vehicle to cool down before turning it off etcetera. Although none of those examples are generally explained to you by the cell staff, the actual manufactures and engineers would beg to differ because a proper break in. Definitely extends the life of anything mechanical. So that being said, I break in everything properly, even my big work trucks. I do not tow with them for the first thousand miles and I try to vary my speed in that same first thousand miles. I’ll also tell everybody to have all the fluids changed after your first thousand miles because I believe all the mechanical tolerances have been set and created in those times and it’s time to remove all of the shavings and start fresh the new oil.
      So I guess in closing it could be interpreted as a choice, but being raised by a farm and rancher it’s my belief that it has to happen to expect to get the best results out of your equipment. Now in regards to changing gears, my dad said because they were created separately and not for each other it matters even more. Gears and axles from the manufacture are created with the exact tolerances specified by an engineer that worked on both pieces, when you add a different manufactures gear sets to an axle all those change. That along with the types of metal used in aftermarket gearing is generally stronger therefore requiring a better braking. The stronger the metal the more heat that is produced therefore the quicker the breakdown of the oil. So not allowing the oil to overheat ensures that you don’t burn up your new gear set during it set in break in time. That’s why all of her expect you to have the oil changed after the original break it is complete or 500 miles.
      I hope all of this somewhat covers your question. Always thank you for your support, and if you ever need anything please feel free to reach out.
