    The way the various mountains were shown and identified on the photo towards the beginning of the video was excellent. I wish other people when discussing mountains, or routes, or features of a mountain would do similar things. It makes it all much easier to comprehend, and a viewer is able to learn so much more.

    This mountain looks INSANE!!! I love watching these climbing channels (since I stumbled across 'Into The Void') and this is the most precarious pinnacle I've seen by far... it must be the most difficult mountain to climb in the world eh? Are there any others on par?

    • @POLARTTYRTM
      @POLARTTYRTM ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Many others are on par and are even more difficult, like Cerro Torre, Torre Egger and the Trango Towers (The Great Trango Tower is officially most difficult mountain on the planet to climb and has the second highest vertical drop on the planet), the first mountains that come to mind, because they are made out of fully vertical slopes with nowhere to hold on to. Other honorable mentions are Huandoy Sur, Janny, Dhalaugiri, K1. Some other mountains were summited once and then only summited again after more than 40 years later due to the sheer difficulty they pose, with some of the climbing expeditions taking close or more than a whole month to summit the mountains. All of the mountains I mentioned in the comment were covered right here on this channel, telling the stories of some of the disasters that happened on them, and some of them are absolutely gut wrenching to listen to.

    One of the biggest differences in the esrly ascents was the lack of accurate weather forcasting. Back then you just had to risk getting caught out. Climbers these days have access to highly accurate weather data and it lowers the risk by tons. The early guys were just made different. I cant imagine the risks taken. The weather will kill you up there. Tough guys. Todays climbers just dont even touch the mountain if theres potential for a snow flake.

    • @POLARTTYRTM
      @POLARTTYRTM ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "Todays climbers just dont even touch the mountain if theres potential for a snow flake." Because weather forecasts are not 100% accurate and weather in high mountain ranges can change from sunny to dangerous, fatally cold, complete whiteout and outright lethal in mere minutes. What do you want them to do? To climb nearly vertical 7-8 thousand meter mountains in winds of 200kph in temperatures of -60ºc in complete whiteout conditions where they can't even see their hands in front of their own face with enormous avalanche and rock slide risks capable of wiping out a whole town just to show to you they are big tough guys? Give me a break. Have you ever heard better safe than sorry? Start practicing and you might get to live long enough to have grandchildren.

    • @adventurfly879
      @adventurfly879 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @POLARTTYRTM that's not what I'm saying. The early climbers would look outside, see its sunny, and go for a 4 day summit push. Today it's possible to accurately forecast 4 and 5 day windows for your summit climb. That ability just didn't used to exist. And yes they are extremely accurate but I will concede that individual mountains definitely create their own weather. And no i never said go climb a mountain in 60 mph winds or whatever. I'm just saying back in the day the risk was way higher. And those guys did it anyway and had unbelievable achievements. Today you can fly a helicopter between peaks and use highly accurate forecasting and have sherpas set everything up for you ahead of time to set a "record". Today's climbers are weiners compared to Messner and the titans of the golden age.

    • @POLARTTYRTM
      @POLARTTYRTM ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adventurfly879 ok but most of these isolated and extremely difficult peaks that not even most of the most proficient and professional climbers dare to try are not loaded with sherpas or anything to do the job for them, the climbers themselves do all the job alone, they climb alone. It's already far too dangerous even for the most experienced climber to try to summit, do you think a sherpa is going to go there and help them? You should research the topic a bit more before commenting. These isolated and extremely dangerous and mostly vertical mountains are rarely climbed for various reasons, including the fact that they are so dangerous and difficult that most climbers outright refuse to even try to climb anything on them, sherpas are not on them to help anyone, the climbers are there all by themselves with no external help doing all the job alone. This is not an Everest vacation expedition where even people with no experience can go and climb, this is extreme hardcore climb for people who do not fear danger or death.

    The word "circumnavigated" doesn't work in the context in which you used it.
