    Sad that Pavle made exactly the right decision not to fall prey to summit fever, and Dejan made exactly the right decision to follow his more experienced comrade without a fight, and yet the pair still experienced a tragedy. However, Pavle's good decision did help save his friend, which is something not to be forgotten.

    When i listen to these tales i feel a tightening in my stomach, I suffered from altitude sickness in the andes at just over 5000 meters, i completly lost 3 days and have never felt so ill. Just thinking clearly at altitude is difficult nevermind the physical effort required to climb a 100m

    • @albinobeach
      @albinobeach 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do have any IDEA how long it will take for a 6800 m mountain to erode to 600m???? You Americans. You have no idea how the world works! Just sitting on your phones like zombies, you will be at least 70 years old when that mountain has eroded to that height. I cant believe the levels of education here on youtube. Earth is nearly 5000 years old in total The mountains probably took almost a thousand years to be that high. Its ridiculous to try and wait for erosion to climb a mountain. STOP BEING LAZY!

      @@albinobeach "Earth is nearly 5000 years old" Look, I don't know if you are being sarcastic since the levels of stupidity are off the charts these days and you can't know if someone is serious or just brainless at this point.
      The Earth is NOWHERE near being 5000 years old. Where tf did you take this information from? Have you ever taken a science class in your life? The Earth is around 4.6 billion years old. Also, these mountains cannot erode to be shorter, as they are still growing in height, and no, even if they were eroding and becoming shorter, it would take several million years for them to become that short (600m). And no, the mountains didn't take "almost a thousand years" to be that tall, they took several and several millions of years.
      My head hurts badly reading this.

    So often these deaths occur for one or two of two reasons: 1. "This altitude sickness will get better if I climb higher" (said one or more climbers before their death). 2. "Don't worry about the weather or our supplies, we'll be back shortly anyway!" (Said someone before 20 people freeze to death).
    I'm glad to see this this was neither. It seems prudence was taken when adversity was encountered. The fall was a consequence of the accepted risks aftee what seems to be sound judement (if you look past the initial decison of three hairless , low-altitude apes to climb something like that in the first place.)

      There are so many grades of 'mountaineering', (from little more than hiking in mountainous areas to the extremes mentioned here), that it's unfair to group 'mountaineering' with the likes of underwater cave diving, wing suits, sky diving, etc. What distinguishes the climbs described on this channel is they include high altitude base camps, periods of altitude acclimatization, very high altitude peaks, steep routes where falls risk death, rock or mixed rock/ice climbing, unpredictable and rapidly changing weather, extreme cold, very remote locations, limited spots for resting or sheltering, high risk of rock/ice fall and avalanches, etc.

    Great story, heartbreaking and very well told, thank you. I think you meant on the border of Pakistan and neighboring Urumqi or Tibet. China is forcefully occupying this region and others, extracting resources and reeducating the entire population to extinction.

    I'll never understand the need to: cave explore, cave dive, mountain climb, deep diving, deep diving on 1 breath, flying through the air with wings, jumping off high places with a rubberband attached, swimming with sharks and collossal squid and many others.
