  • We should not have to say this, but victim hood and ignorance being what it is: Make sure you unplug the saw before you work on it. If you dont, you might get injured. Use your head or you may lose some fingers. Not responsible for anything adverse that happens from watching this video.
    The miter saw is used to cut pieces of wood that are a bit too long so they fit into the woodburner.
    Tools:
    Philips screw driver
    13mm socket with rachet
    To loosen the bolt holding on the blade, turn the bolt Clockwise, yes clockwise.
    Be gentle when using the screwdriver as the screws seem pretty soft and may strip easily.

    All you had to do to expose the blade holding bolt, was to remove the front screw. Everything will slip back and give you access!

      You only have to loosen it, the guard will slide off. I think my saw has a rivet instead of a bottom screw so you don't have to worry about it's tightness or removing it.

      My saw had one rivet and a screw.

      Luckily I read your comment about only removing the screw. Exactly right. Thanks.

    When I realized the bolt was in an area where the guard was in the way I looked it up on this site and this is the first video i came across. Looked difficult until I viewed this video. Took me five minutes to replace the blade. Thank you.

    Clear, concise, and complete. Thank you! As for the few other commenters that I have read, the reason I needed to look this up is because of the fact, everywhere else I have encountered a left hand thread bolt, it was grooved.

    GREAT video, and a HUGE thank-you for posting. I just spent 10-minutes trying to figure out what you showed me in seconds. So impressed, I just ordered the same replacement blade as well.

    The most important revelations (for me) to come out of this video were 1) placing a piece of firewood on the cutting surface to "lock" the blade in place and 2) that to loosen the blade, the bolt needs to be turned the opposite way. Neither of these things were given emphasis on the video but they saved me nevertheless. Now, if I could only find a video that shows how to put the guard piece back together!

    Thank you very much for posting this video I kept looking at mine thinking I was going to have to use a wrench up underneath the guard and I just could not get enough leverage and hold the blade in place to turn it. Great job big help thank you.

    Hi you guys know how to get more height out of my Delta shopmaster ?

  • @nicolebarnett8702

    The motor blocks the backside of this blade. All a socket wrench does it turn the blade at the same time. 4 minutes of my life I won't get back.

    • @olleybear
      @olleybear  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was hoping people would notice that when loosening the bolt that holds the blade you had to go clockwise and then tightening the bolt you had to go counter-clockwise.

    Came here hoping someone said whether it was lefty loosey or right loosen. Bought the saw used and wasn't sure which way to go to take it off . Expected it to be lefty loose like it should be but any saw manufacturer who isnt smart enough to put the blade stop button in plain view makes me wonder if they are smart enough to thread the screw right also lol. Thank you.

    I have not been able to remove the blade guard screw. In this video it looked ridiculously simple. In my it won't even budge a hair. There's another video that says you need to drill it out since it's "impossible" to unscrew. Any tips?

    • @olleybear
      @olleybear  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The screws were rather tight and took some force to unscrew being careful not to strip the screw heads. I would not drill the screw out unless you had no other choice. If its the bottom screw your having trouble with, try removing the top screw, which is the second screw I removed in the video to see if you can then just rotate the blade guard back and out of the way. Good luck.

    Thank you for the video, but for the sake of safety, you should have shown the disconnection of the spark plugs.

    • @olleybear
      @olleybear  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm assuming your joking as this is an electric saw and does not have a combustion engine that requires spark plugs.

    • @arbalet369
      @arbalet369 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olleybear I think Paul Meyers is joking. The warning to "disconnect the spark plug" is very typical for chain saw manufacturer videos - as if when you're sharpening the chain, somebody will sneak up behind you and start up the chain saw!
