I do have to admit he looks pretty cool with the updated graphical fidelity...but what was the point of al that foreshadowing in 7 with Zafina if he's just gonna immediately die? Lame.
Even though Azazel got killed easily, they expanded on his origin enough in this game to make him a vital component to the Mishima bloodline's story, which is explaining that Azazel being the reason for Hachijo clan carrying the devil gene.
Plus, Azazel was technically had just been freed from his sealed state moments before Kazuya obliterated and absorbed him into his being. And if I remember correctly, he was literally destroyed by Jin just right after he was freed back in T6 too.

Azazel has never been anything more than fodder. But Ogre's even worse. In this game, we learn that not only did he not kill Jun but Jun was actually the one who beat his ass and forced him to retreat

I can understand Jin causing WW3 better: apparently everyone in this world is a psycho.
Kazuya managed to bring back Azazel WITHOUT killing millions of people like Jin. Ironic. Kazuya is supposed to be the villain and Jin is supposed to be the hero. This makes Jin look even worse.

So to just think about it, Azazel is the origin of the devil gene and all those who carried his gene served him. Kazuya's devil has gotten so strong that he surpassed his progenitor in every way. The same with Jin since he was able to destroy Azazel at full power in T6 with one punch.

Lars and Raven barely delayed Azazel. He just came back completely untouched and needed full power Jin to be beaten and even THAT didnt kill the dude

No one there was powerful enough to defeat Kazuya at the time. Jin was their best chance, and he got completely folded when he fought him in NY.

@@Mask_of_Vice you're taking the cast into granted. Base Jin is already able to defeat True Ogre and Jinpachi in his base form. Azazel too was defeated by Lars. Ofc another Mishima with Devil form's going to be stronger against Azazel.
@klockenberg2299 I'm not taking any of the cast for granted, I'm know they're all strong and most of the cast get stronger with each game. I just wish Azazel got more to do than get summoned and immediately wrecked. Like, this guy is meant to be the origin of the Devil Gene and its power, you'd think he'd get to do more in the game than being a power up.
