  • Here's my short video on changing out the factory UNLIT window switches in my 2021 RAV4 Prime with LIT switches.
The kit I used was purchased from Ali Express: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_9HYOur
But Car Trim Home has them too: cartrimhome.com/Lighted-LED-S...
I think the customer service at Car Trim Home is far better than the AliExpress seller, so it might be worth paying a bit more here.
    Thanks for watching!
I may receive a small commission if something is purchased through the above link.

Thank you for sharing this video. Did you notice any mechanical differences on the underside of the AliExpress assemblies, compared to the original assemblies that you replaced? I ordered an aftermarket driver's-side lit window switches assembly and it was mechanically inferior to the original part. In at least one area, the OEM part was one molded piece, whereas the replacement aftermarket part was made from two separately molded, loosely connected, pieces. They rattled when I shook the assembly. I ended up reinstalling my original, unlit assembly.

I don't recall any such inferior quality in the one I got. Once I screwed it into the bracket it seemed pretty solid.

Fortunately the one that I got directly from Toyota (for the 2022 Camry, I think) works great and is rock-solid in terms of build quality.

Can you please do a tutorial on the backlit door lock/unlock button on the front passenger side? There's no kit for that yet, I bought a backlit door lock button from the Camry and it was a perfect fit. However, it needs a power source in order to light up and I just can't figure out how to wire it to a 12v power source. Can you please do a tutorial on that? THANK YOU!

Hi Gerard, I would need to see the wiring diagram of that new switch, and then I could offer suggestions. Does the new switch have the same connector and work to lock/unlock the door otherwise? If so, if I knew which pins are for the backlight bulb/LED on the new switch I could tell you where you could tap into in the harness for the window switch..

Good the video... have you heard of these lighted window switches somehow affecting the display on the dash in any way?

Hi Joe, No, I have't heard of that problem. It hasn't affected my car in any way.

Do these light up when you open the door with the car off? Both driver door & the other 3 doors?

Hi, sorry this is late - but no, they only light up when the car is on.

Did you try one of the other passenger door switches to see if it's a defective switch?
