    Great video! I was getting pretty annoyed too at this problem. Yes, first world problems but also the car isn’t cheap so I’m very surprised they did that. Thanks for the fix!

    Really appreciate your video's dude. I leased the 2023 RAV 4 Prime SE which I'm sure you are aware doesn't have allot of these features. These are simple things that I wish Toyota would make standard however, it's great to know that it can be easily upgraded thanks to your DIY video's. Keep up the good work!!! 👍👍👍

    Great vid! Might get for my RAV4 Prime…Understatement of the year, “Toyota cheated out.” That’s their middle name…I owned a Toyota back in 1986 (my first car - Corolla 5speed). Since then, owned 25 cars before my Prime, none of them Toyotas, and my last 5 were 2 BMWs, a Porsche, and Audi, and a TESLA. I see why Toyotas are considered reliable…there are no frills…infotainment is a decade behind (thank God for Apple CarPlay), the app blows…no way to see if your car is charging, the state of charge, when it’s finished, or how many Kw it took in…the FOB is about a decade behind (e.g., can’t roll down or up windows). In other words, very few things to develop bugs or break. And I’m fine with that, but just stating facts.

    Cool mod for not very much money. Well worth doing as fumbling for these switches in the dark is annoying. I've also added a dimmer mirror/homelink setup from a Lexus (purchased second hand off ebay) and will soon be tackling installation of the Toyota tow hitch and electrical setup! For Arizona, which is insanely hot, I've bought an iRoad X10 camera setup and will be using your video as a guide. Many, many thanks for sharing your experiences and the work entailed in doing so.

    • @EVDude
      @EVDude  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching 😁 Seems like you're busy with your mods 😄 The XSE in Canada comes with the homelink/autodimming mirror, so got lucky with that. I don't know the iRoadX10, but as long as it has capacitors instead of a battery, it's a good choice for the weather.

    • @davidgapp1457
      @davidgapp1457 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EVDude Unfortunately the markup for the XSE was $10,000 whereas the markup for the SE was only $5,000, so I bought the SE. The only feature I miss is the seat memory. The X10 was primarily chosen for its demonstrated resistance to heat, but I do wish it had cloud features. Maybe a later model :)

    • @EVDude
      @EVDude  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davidgapp1457 It really hits me that dealers in the US are allowed to have markups on these vehicles. It's actually illegal here in Québec, Canada. I've seen crazy markups reported in the RAV4 Prime Facebook group. It's crazy!!

    • @davidgapp1457
      @davidgapp1457 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EVDude It should be illegal here too! However Toyota could, if they chose, clamp down on dealerships charging mark-ups. They don't, so as far as I'm concerned Toyota is complicit. Toyota is not selling the Rav4 Prime in Arizona so I had to fly over to San Francisco, pay cash and drive home to Arizona. The tax credit here is $7,500 which helps of course.
