Simply having a ranged barrier option as mechanist allows alacrity at a range. Useful for siege if nothing else so its a nice bonus.

Same feels like another gimmick weapon, we'll be stuck with. Without weapon swap, it's about how to partner grenades, as they are the only kit that is worth it.

Creative and different, but doesn't really make me want to play it. Have to test it
Honestly that's my impression as well. Engi already has a ton of ranged options. Might end up being handy as a pursuit weapon but I dunno.

WvW weapon? don't bother lol, you have to manually detonate the canister, not to mention the arrow canister landing speed are slow, enemy can just rush in directly to your face b4 able to do anything fancy in time...
also the shortbow scales on expertise and healing power :(
even mortar kit are much more useful then canister arrows
180 radius is trash.
Fussy, hopefully they don't blow up like turrets. Update; I've tried to make this work in competitive and it's just terrible. Too slow, too fiddly and without weapon swap, melee is in your face and beating the crap out of you, while you struggle detonating your arrows for possibly the worse damage, boons and conditions in the game. Needs a serious rework, with the base being Rev or Ranger.
