Every time I hear "buffed too" - WHAT exactly is buffed? How?
Specter balanced? How? - Good working wells? Or targeting, that still can apply for allies while you are trying to squeeze some dps (or the other way around)?

as a main warrior the unique utility i find for the staff is for been a condi/support dueler with condi berserker spec mace/sword staff work pretty well but staff lack generating adrenalin they need to fixed or is mandatory run defense as a passive adrenaline generator, but with tactis /discipline and berserker the lack of adrenaline is notorius

Mind blowing. Sword Necrois being ranged while sword Weaver is still doing melee 😂

The fact mesmer uses a great sword at a range is mind blowing. Even more mind blowing is they got rifle before ranger.

You forgot to mention that they removed bladesworn from wvw and pvp due to extreme nerfing.

Other than the addition of the "new" weapons, how is it the classes aren't balanced after a decade?

it's a MMO. true balance is impossible. even a game of chess can be argued to be slightly biased in favor of who plays first. In an mmo, it's impossible to be completely fair, and, i'd argue, undesirable. if all classes were completely equal, it would be boring, small imbalances are needed in every game, it generates essential tension and challenge, it's only frustrating when that imbalance is too great. examples of the small imbalances of this game: Necromancer is the least mobile class, but it's also one of the tankiest. Mesmers have it all, but they tend to be fragile and their dependance on clones can be problematic. Condi guardians hit hard but are so dependent on burning stacks that condi removal makes them much weaker. You can make such observations about all the professions in this game, and that's a GOOD thing. If everyone was just as mobile, tanky, good at healing etc as anyone else, there would be little class identity left but some flavor spell effects, and then people would ditch the more finicky mechanics, like clones or pet ai, to just play the classes with easier gameplay, if they were all equal, that would happen even more than it already does.

@kevlap017 Yes, but they've been at it 10+ years. At some point, you say it looks good and call it a day. If your team lead said, "Here's a game, balance it as fair as possible. You got 10 years to do it." Then 10 years later asked, "How did you do?" Your reply is not so hot we're still working on it. I'd have no idea how you'd keep your job.

@@FoulPet you don't understand. Every time you add ANYTHING. The balance is affected. Plus, there's more to balance than numbers. Some classes had boring gameplay or clunky mechanics, not necessarily bad numbers and they wanted to change the former, which obviously may affect balance. Why do you think they change so many skills to be "on heal/elite" they are trying hard to make effects less passives and more controlled. Why did they change how scrapper generate quickness? It's not because it was too good or too weak, it was because they didn't like the mechanic of it. It "didn't feel good". As for why it keep changing: over ten years people change their minds... and the members of the team also change over time, with different ideas and views and opinions. Sure I don't like the new version of scrapper quickness, but an attempt was made. They changed unload on thief to be super spammable. It's not good number wise, it's just fun. Balance isn't the only goal. It's actually not a priority at all. It's the game being fun and not *too* imbalanced that people get envious or upset. Guardian always was a great class for example, but that's ok. As long as other classes were not *too* far behind. That's the main goal of balance , just diminishing the imbalance when it reach unfair or unfun levels, not getting rid of it.

@kevlap017 Actually, I do understand. That's the reason I said not to include the new weapons. The beta is for them to observe what's broken. Within a couple of months, they should have nerfed or buffed what is required. If you've done a job for 10 years, you should have a fairly decent grasp of what's required. Even the people that stream give them feedback on what is needed and would help. That's basically employees working for free. I don't recall this level of constant class nerfs ever in any mmo I played. The only thing I recall is patching bugs people found. Personally, I think it's a gimmick to keep players involved and interested. You're either defending incompetence or indecisiveness. If you want to change something as big as dropping a reset from 10 seconds to 5, you playtest on a test server, not release it to the public, then nerf it to 8. That's ridiculous, but it does keep your gamers involved. I guess I'm different in like to know how my class will perform every time I log in rather than needed to relearn it every patch.
