Summary:
1. Citrus Fruit: Leave your lemons on the counter, and you’ll have to buy more sooner. Lemons, limes, and oranges all do best in the fridge because the cooler temperature prevents them from drying out. They'll keep for up to two weeks when chilled and about one week at room temperature.
2. Mushrooms: If you’ve ever brought home a container of mushrooms and left them on the counter for a few days before using them, you might be surprised to learn that they belong in the fridge. Except for morel mushrooms, which you should keep on the counter, unwashed mushrooms belong in the fridge in a paper bag.
3. Dijon Mustard: Once opened, a bottle of Dijon mustard will keep just fine without refrigeration for about a month, due to its high acid content. Store it in the refrigerator, however, and mustard should stay at its peak level of quality for up to a year.
4. Ripe Bananas: Should bananas be refrigerated? That depends on ripeness. A green banana that has yet to fully ripen should be kept out of the fridge, as refrigeration will disrupt the ripening process. Once bananas are ripe, however, you can keep them in the refrigerator for several days. While the skin may darken, the fruit inside will remain just right.

I am Anaphylactic to ALL Citric Acid, especially Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, but NOT Ascorbic Acid.

I like lemon-lime juice with salad, TexMex and chicken and fish. I used to like orange juice but I became allergic to oranges and grapefruit. I will now keep my gallon doy sauce on the fridge. Thanks.
