27:44 If I understand correctly, "Elizabeth Bartley, niece of Dracula" is an invention of localizers. In Japanese version she is who she is obviously supposed to be, Elizabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess, the serial killer noble from Transylvania. She is infamous for bathing in blood of maidens believing that it will prolong her youth... which most people now agree she never did and it was a later invention. To my knowledge there is no traceable blood relation between her and historic Vlad III/Tepes/Dracula, though one of the members of her family did lead a military campaign together with Vlad, but he wasn't Elizabeth's ancestor. In short, she is not Dracula's niece. Kid Dracula wouldn't exactly be too weird. If the story of this hypothetical Castlevania Judgement 2 continues from the previous one, then he actually could be written in fairly organically. The main boss of Judgement, Time Reaper, works for Galamoth who started out as the main villain of Kid Dracula. Yeah. My main argument against Kid Dracula as described is because of the dichotomy of the warriors of Light and Night, and Kid Dracula would TECHNICALLY be a Warrior of Light in this case since he was the hero of that game against Galamoth. I would honestly replace KD WITH Galamoth instead as a Playable Final Boss.

I have a good suggestion for building a fighting game, Dungeons and Dragons. I'd imagine their be a story mode that brings in classic and loved characters across the franchise, like Drizzt Do'Urden, Tasha, Strahd, Minsc and Boo, Raistlin Majere, Lady of Pain, Someone from the Magic setting, Maybe someone from Critical Roll? There are a lot of settings and worlds and characters to draw from, the fun part is finding the right mix of races and classes and franchise representation in the roster. I can also see this having a nice character creation mode. I see this working best as a 3v3 fighter with a forth support character that add a effect like with Persona 5 Area what if.
@@mdalsted Think a lot of old extra DnD media was like that back then, Like I think the Mystara Capcom Beat Ups had original characters and those are considered classics. then there was that animated series, and pretty sure most of the old comics did their own thing as well. Oh and those live action movies.
Castlevania Judgement was based. Probably not technically good, but based. I think Miriam from Bloodstained would make for a fun DLC Cameo character, though she runs the risk of potentially feeling a bit samey when Shanoa is already in the game. Zangetsu would probably feel more unique.
Unfortunately, that likely wouldn't happen. Konami has a very... unique policy when it comes to former employees, i.e. they are dead to them. Koji Igarashi basically made Bloodstained as a big "That that!" to Konami, not just in premise, but also in details--names of dead victims being from past Castlevania games, one optional boss being *very* reminiscent of a Belmont, and another such boss being a literal shot machine. And that's before you remember Zangetsu is voiced by David Hayter, aka Solid Snake back when the Metal Gear games were still under Hideo Kojima's control (and the less said there, the better).
I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be to fight wearing clothing like that... Like look at Simon, he's practically wearing a metal ribcage on the outside, and with all that skin showing...he'll have cuts and bruises all over himself.
I'd have no issue with a third of the roster having access to a whip, just as long as the whip is used in wildly different ways for each character. There's a lot of different styles and moves using a whip that can be spread out to the different belmonts

Build the Roster: Evil Zone 2. The first game came out on the Playstation back in 1999 and was basically different protagonists from what seem to be representing different anime/manga genres and sub-genres coming togethor to fight off an evil presence that brought them all togethor. Horror, martial arts, fantasy, magical girl, tokasatsu, almost had one character per genre. With anime and manga being more popular than ever before and games having more characters selectable than years ago, I think we can add more caricatures and archetypes such as male and female love interest from a romance, knowledge hungry inventor from a steampunk, the hard working prodigy from sports, the isekai human turned into a monster or creature of some kind, you could even somehow add in the parody character or two that are out of Panty and Stocking as an example. Stages would be more detailed and fit with each and every genre and sub genre as well as the music for the stages like fighting in a school yard and class room or the magical girls kingdom. They all had rivals as well, each and every one of them, so it would be funny to see others like how a sports character talks to a horror villain or a steampunk inventor talks to to either the male or female live rival. So while you wouldn't be picking out a character persay, you would be picking out the archetype and caricature to represent the genre and subgenre they come from.
This is gonna be THE anime crossover, no more sticking to Shonen Jump. We could have Lucy from Elfen Lied fight Alucard from Hellsing, if that game gets a sequel I hope we can see that
@@mirzapramudya1580 While that would be awesome, something like that would be a bit more complicated as no one studio has as many familiar characters as Shonen Jump or Tastunoko does. This is why the game has to stick to the caricature and archetype, otherwise it would be a copyright and trademark nightmare to keep the game up online, especially if their from different companies.

As sad as I am as well, I would rather him be off it than get the version we had before. That said, if he was back and had his design from Portrait of Ruin, I would be SUPER down.
Great picks, I wonder what the game would be like if they could go crazy with adding Belmonts? Seeing how many there are, it feels like they could fill up an entire roster with just them 😂

Officially "The creature" and "fleaman" but yeah the basis is pretty obvious. I know I'm um actuallying on a comment 2 years old, but given that those characters are in the public domain it is a conscious choice
...small thing, but no mention of Carmilla's human form in Circle of the Moon? It may not be considered canon, but I'm pretty sure it was the first time she was actually depicted that way (or at least played more of a hand in the story than as just another recurring boss). And her design's a lot better in CotM than it was in Judgment. And speaking of Circle of the Moon, Nathan Graves is 100% the character I'd want to see in a hypothetical Judgment 2 (even if there's almost zero chance of it happening). Sure he fights with a whip, same as the Belmonts, but I think the CotM card-based magic system could be incorporated into his moveset in such a way to make him stand out against the other protagonists.
I was also honestly thinking of Nathan as my more out-there pick. Which of his specific card combos would you put in as his moves? A large part of me wants to see Nathan whip out the gun from one of his combos
Kinda sad to not see Aeon back, considering I think he's a pretty cool character and that he was the one who brought the cast of Judgement 1 together in the first place. I also feel like the Aria of Sorrow has a bit too much representation? Counting your DLC picks, it's got 4 characters, which is a lot of a 16 to 20 character roster. I'd probably cut out Graham, personally. Other then that, I like most of this roster. Good work as always, Thorgi.
I have a request for an episode of either build the roster, or let’s make a sequel (in this case a new game) Mega Man Clash: a platform fighting game based on the mega man franchise, that would act as a crossover between all of the different mega man series!
I loved this idea so much I made my own roster for it: Mega Man Proto Man Bass Duo Roll Elec Man Guts Man X Zero Axl Sigma Aile Mega Man Volnutt Tron Bonne MegaMan.EXE Harp Note
There are so many characters in the franchise that aren’t the “robot master” of that game, that the roster could be absolutely massive. I made a 40 character roster out of just main characters
I would honestly buy this. Also in terms of other characters, maybe Mathias Cronqvist & Sonia Belmont just so we can see the potential Mathias has as well as just bringing back Sonia
It would be awesome but I think the closest we would probably get would be Zephyr from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow with his time stop and knives. Though Aeon could fill the same role. Closest we could probably get for Jonathan would be with guest characters would likely be Django from Boktai, a lesser known Konami property from the GBA who crossed over with Mega Man Battle Network, staring a Vampire Hunter who uses the power of the sun himself with his solar powered gun.
I absolutely love this! Castlevania lore is something I legitimately started learning about last year so hearing an entire video going over many characters especially Soma and Gabriel is amazing to me.
If you wanted to get wacky with the legal issues, then a DLC season of the Bloodstained cast would be pretty slick. Miriam, Zangetsu, Dominique and Alfred would be a solid four.
@@mirzapramudya1580 Exactly. And that's the problem. Konami's policy is that one you stop working at Konami, you are dead to them. There's a reason (actually several reasons) people used the hashtag F*Konami.
For a future instalment of Build the Roster, you should build the roster for a Danganronpa fighting game. Spike Chunsoft has recently been making tons of new stuff for the series and the creator, Kazutaka Kodaka, has said that he was interested in making a fighting game in the future for Danganronpa.
I was always under the impression that Golem was actually Balore but they couldn't keep the trademark on his name for some reason. Side note, I could totally see the final boss of the second game being Galamoth, pulling a "Fine, I'll do it myself" after the defeat of Time Reaper.
Here's an idea I've toyed with time and again: A RWBY fighting game. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle already showed how the main characters and Neo would work. So how could the concept be made into a full game?
Now that Konami has slowly but surely getting back on track with upcoming projects like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and the Silent Hill 2 remakes and putting out quality collections of their games I can see a brand new Castlevania fighting game existing
Shanoa, Charlotte and Soma are so badass! But what about these? Light Nathan Graves Carrie Fernandez Stella Lecarde Night Student Witch Maid Persephone Frozen Shade
Here are two interesting ideas for characters: Shaft from Rondo of Blood with the four classic Castlevania bosses as summons and Pyramid Head from Silent Hill
I really like that base roster, but I'm not so sure about the DLC picks. No offense, of course. Personally, as someone who has never played Castlevania but enjoys the concept: Julius Belmont (I do agree on this one), Grant Danasty, Stella Lecarde, Galamoth
So, if Konami decides to make a good castlevania fighting game and they put in Trevor, what are the chances they give him the same voice as the one from the Netflix series, complete with swears?
For those that saw this earlier,Kid Dracula is from the game of the same name that only appeared in Japan for the Famicom system. You can get a chance to play the game and learn of the character, plus where he fits in the Castlevania timeline,by buying the Castlevania Collection game because Kid Dracula appears in there.
Idea for charlotte She can call Jonathan for some of her moves, maybe like a puppet fighter, that combines some slow spells and pressure with Jonathan (wich can use MORE than just whips, contrary to what the video says, he can use shortswords, greatswords, spears, hammers and can also punch very fast, he can throw daggers, grenades, the bible, axes, can do martial arts, etc)
I was genuinely afraid when you said only 8 Heroes that Soma would fall by the Wayside. I'm glad my fears were unfounded. And I love that you gave Charlotte some thought. I liked using her far more than Jonathan in PoR, even though facets of the game seemed geared to make you focus on him and leave her aside.
The premise of Judgement is great....its execution was ....well it was written in the book the artist is responsible for the art for. Also I think Aeon could be in the base roster as he's technically his own faction
I have two ideas for a Build the Roster episode right here. 1: A sequel to Dissidia NT on the PS5 incorporating guest characters and including the Final Fantasy spinoffs 2: A Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm-like crossover game with a lot of characters from Shonen Jump to the Dengeki Bunko PS3 fighting game... I mainly made this because I mainly wanted to be my best girl of choice (Asuna by the way...) in a 3D arena fighter
Love the Build a Roster videos!! Would love to see how you'd do this for Soul Calibur, Samurai Shodown, Killer Instinct, Bloody Roar/Beastorizer, Jump Force, and Terrordrome: Rise of the Legends (especially since there's so many legendary monsters from around the world and urban legends to pull from!!).
Honestly great list of characters but here me out for a few more DLC character ideas I have like 4 of my own and I think you might like them. Though 2 of them are more of an unlikely surprise that would be welcome. *LIGHT* _Kokoro Belmont_ I know this sounds like a fake Belmont but she's real and from Otomedius Excellent, a spin off of the Gradius series. She would likely be the Kid Dracula of the warriors of light side. I imagine her playstyle being similar to the Belmonts but for the sake of giving her something unique she rides in her modified Stavros Riding Viper and be a high speed zoner. I don't know how to make a ship work in a fighting game but you could do something similar to Tails is Sonic Adventure 2 and turn the ship into a mech with it's beam whip and such. Plus I can imagine a Super where she uses her Platonic Break, "Lightning Sword" a cross-shaped beam that looks to be a modified version of the Grand Cross. _Solar Boy Django_ This one would be a guest character. Being the main protagonist and a different vampire hunter from another Konami series, "Boktai" Django has equipped a few weapons over the course of his adventures but we'll be going with his iconic main weapon and only weapon from the first game, the Gun Del Sol. Being a solar powered gun, it fires ball of solar energy for his main attack, with it's EX changing to a short range wave in front of him that rapidly drains HP from enemies. He will also be given his Solar Sword from Boktai 2 for the sake of close quarters combat. For Special Attacks, he doesn't do much on his own so I think we could have him tap into his other weapons or even use the powers of his Dark Trance if we wanted to. Speaking of Supers he got a few obvious ones such as his Pile Drivers, a device used to purify Immortals, as he summons Master Otenko to use them. A nice touch could be that if used on Warriors of the Night they are greatly weakened for the rest of the battle. Though this Super can only be used once and deals subpar damage to make up for it. He also has another super in the form of his Sol Trance form from the Japan only Boktai 3 by fusing with Master Otenko. With it he temporary becomes much stronger for a short period of time at the cost of draining the Super meter. He also replaces his Dark Trance abilities with the ability to fire off blasts of sunlight and such. Perhaps having unlimited super meter for the duration of the form but can't use any other supers? *NIGHT* _Aeon_ Despite not being a villian, he was on the warriors of the night side in Judgment. But still I'm surprised you didn't bring him up considering he's supposed to be a major player in the events of the first game and arguebly the best part of it. I imagine his moveset being similar but reworked to be better balanced. Perhaps with a few new moves to make him feel a bit more refreshed. He also NEEDS to have new lines for his Super, "Requiem of the 13th Hour" flaunting the power he has over time or providing words of wisdom. And with these faces I can think of a few while changing things up to better fit the reworked returning faces. Such as... Richter: "You may have made your mark in history, but every mark fades in time." Soma: "Despite everything you still continue to defy fate as the dark lord. You have truly earned your era of peace, reincarnation of Dracula." Django: "Even the power of the sun can not complete with the power of time young hero of another world." _Dark Boy Sabata_ Being the rival of Django from the Boktai series if Django was to join, someone from his series has to join the side of the night to balance things out and why not his older twin brother Sabata. While it's also bending the rules considering that even though he is associated with the dark, the Dark Boy isn't really a villain. Even going as far as to save Django's life on numerous occasions. I imagine him fighting similar to the Solar Boy only with an altered moveset to better fit the Dark Boy. Starting with his Gun Del Hell, the dark counterpart to the Gun De Sol it would work as a slower but stronger variation of it firing Dark Matter. For the sake of giving him a close range weapon he could use the Sword of Darkness, while he never uses it in the games his brother Django has and considering it's the dark counterpart to the Solar Sword it would only be fitting. Though while Django doesn't have much good in the way of potential special attacks besides his Gun De Solar outside of either Dark Trance abilities and other weapons. Sabata has some already existing options, like his Dark Warp teleport or Zero Shift to teleport a shirt distance and bypass enemies. He's also got Ice Spear and Fire Ball to summon several icicles and conjures an icy mist and conjure several explosive fireballs respectively. As for his possible Supers, he has Black Sun which allows him to block out the sun, or any other forms of light, for a short period and Black Hole has him use the Gun De Hell to create a black hole capable of sucking in energy projectiles and enemies to trap them. Side note was considering The Count of Groundsoaking Blood, over Sabata but I think the latter is more interesting playstyle wise and the count is too similar to Dracula anyway. While I imagine Django and Sabata would be incredibly unlikely and more of pipe dream guest characters I imagine many would be excited to see them again.
I scrolled down pretty far and didn't see this name, Nathan Graves. Despite being a wielder of the whip, he did NOT feel like a Belmont(Considering he wasnt), and i think his play style with his card abilities would have been awesome. Change up his cards during battle and his moveset would change, and it would be awesome for chain attacks.
If there's one thing I've learned from playing fighting games it's that you can make anything work as a character with enough work & creativity. So I'd say keep Balore this huge monster & work around it. Make it so he can't move, but has a long range unblockable grab to force the opponent in close. And to keep with his hulking monstrosity vibe, he wouldn't have hit stun, but he'd be kinda slow & you could attack either his arms or body to do damage.
I honestly think that instead of Carmilla, one could have Blackmore from OoE instead as he has a more interesting moveset to work with, manipulating his shadows to attack for him like a Puppet Character and zoning with his Dark Fireballs would separate himself from the rest. Though with Carmilla, I do think adding in her partner, Laura in some assists would be more beneficial to her as those two mostly work as a team. Either to drain enemy meter or rush in to deal damage.
I love you for picking Kid Dracula. Also, Simon Belmont from Captain N???? That show had an entire castlevania episode and their version of Alucard was WILD.
This is what I would do for the roster (though your roster was great! This is hypothetical after all!) For the ds games Cornell- werewolf’s are awesome and he is a good n64 rep Soma- good gba rep. and a fan favorite Maria- I guess she can rep. for the tg16 Leon- he is underrated and we need a ps2 rep. (Hector could work too) Warriors of night Dracula- duh Death- duh again Elizabeth- she is also underrated and can rep. For SEGA genesis St. Germain- he is more of an anti hero and death hates him but I feel he would have great interactions with the cast( especially aeon) Issac- he’s a cool character who’s game appearance needs more representation (I love his portrayal in curse of darkness though I like the show version as well) Ortega- yeah completely agree with you on this one Knight armor- iconic enemies for the games with so many different appearances Carmila- she kinda needs to be here, so yeah DLC (I would love to have 3rd parties like Nightmare or demitri but I’ll stick to 1st parties) Eric- I would love too see him appear before he becomes wind Gabrielle- never crossed my mind but I love it Any Belmont/spell caster hero- just, sure Pyramid head or psycho mantis- I feel some other representation would be good and these guys could fit.
Carmilla had a pretty significant role in Symphony of the Night as well, iirc. She was the vampire/succubus who trapped Alucard in a dreamscape to relive the night of his mother's death. She also appeared in a similar form though less narratively important in Lament of Innocence. My point is that they were already developing her as a character well before the original Judgment, or the Lords of Shadow. If you were going to base any character off of their Lords of Shadow incarnation, it should be Death. He's voiced by Patrick Stewart, afterall. I'm getting the feeling that you recorded this video long before you knew you were only doing Thorgiween for a week instead of the whole month of October.
Carmilla is not Succubus. Carmilla is only in Cv2, Rondo, Dracula X, Circle and the animated series. Edit: yeah, idk why I listed Rondo twice, it was supposed to be Circle
@@uandresbrito5685 I didn't mean she was a demoness succubus, but just that she was a vampire who was succubus-like. Sonia as a secret fight; she's bassicly an hybrid of the 3 Belmonts of the base roster but she mostly uses her mystical powers. I also mainly do that for the Trevor's interactions.
I think two extra characters you could add to make the dlc your normal 6 would be Eric Lecarde for the good guys because of how different his spear would be and his obscurity from being in castlevania bloodlines, and axe armor for the bad guys, because they're a reacuring enemy from the franchise and this roster needed at least one normal enemy fighter
Huh , Castlevania had a fighting game Well this would be interesting but I know like nothing about Castlevania outside of Simon , Richter, Alucard Also Dracula beats Ganondorf in Death Battle so there is that
For the last dlc I'd have samus guest star because the original was a Wii title then if a sequel came out it be on the switch and also because fighters now tend to include characters from different franchises and finally to celebrate the two franchises that practically created the metroidvania genre fight each other!
This might be a terrible idea, but what about Sonic the Fighters 2 for a Build the Roster episode? I mean, by this point the Sonic series has so many characters and so little gameplay variety that a fighting game might be the only way to make anyone other than Sonic and "Definitely Not Sonic What Are You Talking About" playable ever again.
Well, Silent Hill is getting a big revival, so anything is possible. And we once again have Resident Evil to thank for the resurrection of Silent Hill.
@@koby_mitchell Yes, I know, but what is the logic behind it? Why is Marvel vs Capcom 4 "Build the Roster" and it's not a "Let's Make a Sequel"? The same for Injustice 3.
Funny thing is, they made a D&D fighting game once, but it didn't have any recognizable characters. Maybe that contributed to its failure...
YES
As a huge DND fan, I approve.
@@mdalsted Think a lot of old extra DnD media was like that back then, Like I think the Mystara Capcom Beat Ups had original characters and those are considered classics. then there was that animated series, and pretty sure most of the old comics did their own thing as well. Oh and those live action movies.
What if some of the characters were MONSTERS? Like a zoner beholder, a trapper mind flayer, and a unga bunga hill giant?
@@fictionfan0 Sad news Judgment was all Koji Igarashi's idea, including motion controls.

@@TrashJack3000 Agreed!
Hell yeah, that would probably be more suited to "let's make a sequel" though.
@@mirzapramudya1580 ... what? No, evil zone is literally the tropes personafide. Don't know where you're getting anime crossover. Also yes I know this comment is 6 months old but that's how long it took for me to watch this and see your reply.
Evil Zone, oh hell yeah. I am ALWAYS surprised when others know that game.
I used to pass this game on to my friends just to let them get good at this, because nobody could beat me in this game.
What we wanted: This, maybe a new game
What we got: NFTS

Ah, so you weren't the only one.
Good news Castlevania is Back, as new content in Dead Cells.

DLC: Pyramid Head, Red Sonja, Vampirella and the "Splatterhouse" hero.

Splatterhouse Protag is Rick Taylor.

I love this roster, I’m just slightly sad that Eric is off it.
Btw, Kid Dracula is legit Alucard. The final boss from Kid Dracula shows up in SotN. It’s hilarious.
As sad as I am as well, I would rather him be off it than get the version we had before. That said, if he was back and had his design from Portrait of Ruin, I would be SUPER down.
Great picks, I wonder what the game would be like if they could go crazy with adding Belmonts? Seeing how many there are, it feels like they could fill up an entire roster with just them 😂
Ngl, it's just gonna be Family Feud HAHAHA

Dracula&Gabriel: *arguing intensifies*
Soma: Can I PLEASE have a bagel!
For Death, his Judgement redesign literally only needed a hood. The redesign was sick.
Instead of Balore, i think Frankenstein & Igor would be better. They would play like Fera and Thor from MK.
see i was thinking Karasuman. the flight mixed with the feather attacks i think could be pretty cool
Officially "The creature" and "fleaman" but yeah the basis is pretty obvious. I know I'm um actuallying on a comment 2 years old, but given that those characters are in the public domain it is a conscious choice
The only thing I know about Castlevania Judgement is that it gave us the greatest remix of Vampire Killer ever (of all time)
...small thing, but no mention of Carmilla's human form in Circle of the Moon?
I wasn't really feeling this list all too much until you put in Kid Dracula. Goated ass pick right there!
I would love to see Aeon back for those reasons you mentioned. He is my best fighter and my favorite out of all of them.
I have a request for an episode of either build the roster, or let’s make a sequel (in this case a new game) Mega Man Clash: a platform fighting game based on the mega man franchise, that would act as a crossover between all of the different mega man series!
Should we have all five main blue bombers . Have 3 out 5. Then have 2 other as dlc.
Unlikely but i would love to see QuakeWoman, MultiMan and HypnoWoman as figthers in that game
I loved this idea so much I made my own roster for it: Mega Man
Proto Man
Bass
Duo
Roll
Elec Man
Guts Man
X
Zero
Axl
Sigma
Aile
Mega Man Volnutt
Tron Bonne
MegaMan.EXE
Harp Note
I really wanted to include a Star Force character but I just couldn’t fit one in
There are so many characters in the franchise that aren’t the “robot master” of that game, that the roster could be absolutely massive. I made a 40 character roster out of just main characters
I would honestly buy this. Also in terms of other characters, maybe Mathias Cronqvist & Sonia Belmont just so we can see the potential Mathias has as well as just bringing back Sonia
I doubt Konami would actually do this, but what if we got Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando (part 1 version) on this roster?
That would been awesome .
@@shadowclaw7210 Good news Castlevania is Back, as new content in Dead Cells.
Two ideas for future episodes:
Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2
A new Shonen Jump crossover fighter
I absolutely love this! Castlevania lore is something I legitimately started learning about last year so hearing an entire video going over many characters especially Soma and Gabriel is amazing to me.
If you wanted to get wacky with the legal issues, then a DLC season of the Bloodstained cast would be pretty slick. Miriam, Zangetsu, Dominique and Alfred would be a solid four.
They could work it out, Bloodstained is made by a former director of Castlevania right?
@@mirzapramudya1580 Exactly. And that's the problem. Konami's policy is that one you stop working at Konami, you are dead to them. There's a reason (actually several reasons) people used the hashtag F*Konami.
Can I just say that the intro for Build the Roster feels simply yet kind of satisfying?
The video no one expected, but the video we needed. Interesting to see where it goes.
Very good use of the bait-and-switch gag at the start there. I thought it was building up to a nonsequitur, but then it made perfect sense :)
For a future instalment of Build the Roster, you should build the roster for a Danganronpa fighting game. Spike Chunsoft has recently been making tons of new stuff for the series and the creator, Kazutaka Kodaka, has said that he was interested in making a fighting game in the future for Danganronpa.
Oh my gosh, that's kind of funny as hell.
I was always under the impression that Golem was actually Balore but they couldn't keep the trademark on his name for some reason.
Side note, I could totally see the final boss of the second game being Galamoth, pulling a "Fine, I'll do it myself" after the defeat of Time Reaper.
Castlevania vs Darkstalkers anyone? 2D Capcom fighting game of course.
It would be funny if Galamoth was the villain of Judgement 2 (he WAS the one who sent Time Reaper) and he faces Kid Dracula.
Here's an idea I've toyed with time and again:
A RWBY fighting game.
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle already showed how the main characters and Neo would work. So how could the concept be made into a full game?
Aeon in this game is my only hope and those puns were beautiful.
Now that Konami has slowly but surely getting back on track with upcoming projects like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and the Silent Hill 2 remakes and putting out quality collections of their games I can see a brand new Castlevania fighting game existing
agreed this video age both poorly and well at the same time.
Shanoa, Charlotte and Soma are so badass! But what about these?

Nathan Graves
Carrie Fernandez
Stella Lecarde

I always assumed (especially with the white hair & fighting monsters) that Kid Dracula, was just Alucard when he was very young.
Why leave out Cornell? Lol didn't even make him dlc? We need a werewolf to balance out all the vampires 😂
Here are two interesting ideas for characters: Shaft from Rondo of Blood with the four classic Castlevania bosses as summons and Pyramid Head from Silent Hill

15:35 im so glad this has now changed.
I really like that base roster, but I'm not so sure about the DLC picks. No offense, of course.
Personally, as someone who has never played Castlevania but enjoys the concept:
Julius Belmont (I do agree on this one), Grant Danasty, Stella Lecarde, Galamoth
Charlotte! Jonathan!, Charlotte! Jonathan!, Charlotte! Jonathan!... (Loop) Yes I've played Portrait of Ruin , how did you know?
So, if Konami decides to make a good castlevania fighting game and they put in Trevor, what are the chances they give him the same voice as the one from the Netflix series, complete with swears?
Even in hypothetical games, Grant gets screwed over.
Idea for charlotte
She can call Jonathan for some of her moves, maybe like a puppet fighter, that combines some slow spells and pressure with Jonathan (wich can use MORE than just whips, contrary to what the video says, he can use shortswords, greatswords, spears, hammers and can also punch very fast, he can throw daggers, grenades, the bible, axes, can do martial arts, etc)
Ngl, if I were to do a Castlevania fighting game, two of the DLC fighters would be Samus and Ridley with a couple Metroid stages.
I hope you keep the Castlevania Judgement 1 redesigns, because those are AWESOME.
cornells is by far my favorite
Cornell and Camilla were the coolest in the game
The premise of Judgement is great....its execution was ....well it was written in the book the artist is responsible for the art for. Also I think Aeon could be in the base roster as he's technically his own faction
I have two ideas for a Build the Roster episode right here.
1: A sequel to Dissidia NT on the PS5 incorporating guest characters and including the Final Fantasy spinoffs
2: A Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm-like crossover game with a lot of characters from Shonen Jump to the Dengeki Bunko PS3 fighting game...
*LIGHT*
_Kokoro Belmont_
I know this sounds like a fake Belmont but she's real and from Otomedius Excellent, a spin off of the Gradius series.
_Solar Boy Django_
This one would be a guest character. Being the main protagonist and a different vampire hunter from another Konami series, "Boktai"
Django has equipped a few weapons over the course of his adventures but we'll be going with his iconic main weapon and only weapon from the first game, the Gun Del Sol.
*NIGHT*
_Aeon_
Despite not being a villian, he was on the warriors of the night side in Judgment.
Such as...
Richter: "You may have made your mark in history, but every mark fades in time."
Soma: "Despite everything you still continue to defy fate as the dark lord. You have truly earned your era of peace, reincarnation of Dracula."
Django: "Even the power of the sun can not complete with the power of time young hero of another world."
_Dark Boy Sabata_
Being the rival of Django from the Boktai series if Django was to join, someone from his series has to join the side of the night to balance things out and why not his older twin brother Sabata.
33:17 I'd say he's too big for any saving. Unlike Ridley.
I'd say the Creature would be a better pick.
My delight when I called Kid Dracula the moment before he was revealed was powerful.
Well, you definitely got the three characters I'd want to see in there in there - Alucard, Death, Kid Dracula...
If we have a rival thing like in the first Castlevania, Soma Cruz and Dracula HAVE to face off! I don't want to see anything else.
I love you for picking Kid Dracula. Also, Simon Belmont from Captain N???? That show had an entire castlevania episode and their version of Alucard was WILD.
This is what I would do for the roster (though your roster was great! This is hypothetical after all!)
Warriors of light
Aeon- he’s like the mascot you can’t leave him out
Simon- duh
Alucard- duh again
Shanoah- great rep. For the ds games
Cornell- werewolf’s are awesome and he is a good n64 rep
Soma- good gba rep. and a fan favorite
Maria- I guess she can rep. for the tg16
Leon- he is underrated and we need a ps2 rep. (Hector could work too)
Warriors of night
Dracula- duh
Death- duh again
Elizabeth- she is also underrated and can rep. For SEGA genesis
St. Germain- he is more of an anti hero and death hates him but I feel he would have great interactions with the cast( especially aeon)
Issac- he’s a cool character who’s game appearance needs more representation (I love his portrayal in curse of darkness though I like the show version as well)
Ortega- yeah completely agree with you on this one
Knight armor- iconic enemies for the games with so many different appearances
Carmila- she kinda needs to be here, so yeah
DLC
(I would love to have 3rd parties like Nightmare or demitri but I’ll stick to 1st parties)
Eric- I would love too see him appear before he becomes wind
Gabrielle- never crossed my mind but I love it
Any Belmont/spell caster hero- just, sure
Pyramid head or psycho mantis- I feel some other representation would be good and these guys could fit.
33:35 You already put three minions. I think that's enough.
Your picks for darkness are almost random and obscure.
Justice for Juste Belmont
The og strongest Belmont and the only Belmont mage

Just finished Order of Ecclesia two days ago. Shanoa was such a masterwork in character design, no wonder she became such a fan-favourite.
Wow, I just bought this game on ebay literally a few days ago since I was feeling nostalgic, and then this video come out. What a perfect coincidence
Wow lots of cuts. I would have kept Cornell, Grant, Eric Lecarde, & Aeon. As for additions I would have included Hector and Isaac because it would be weird having one but not the other. Also Sonia Belmont to make up for Resurrection's cancellation.
Build The Roster, JoJo. C'mon, it kinda works.
I would have put the prisoner from dead cells in there. They crossed over with castlevania so they have a reason.
"if you never played any of the games I'm surprised you got this far thank you for watching" you are welcome. I may not have played any of the games but I did in fact buy them... I just have a very hard time actually playing the games that I buy and I enjoyed the anime and Smash. This definitely is good learning about the characters.
Belnades doesn't need to be another ranger spellcaster. It'd befit her to be on the more aggressive and close range end of the spectrum.
Carmilla should have a masquerade mask with a little handle the references her older design
PLEASE make Issac's super move or EX move be summoning his blue stand, whom I've named NSYNC, from the anime! Because that beast was too cool!
I would have added Albus as well.
a mix between fire arms and hand to hand combat would be an interesting combo for a character
Carmilla predates Dracula (from a literary stand point)
Okay that opening gag really got me, there is nothing more terrifying than Konami
Konami: Do you like pachinko?
Fans: Hell no! Video games or nothing!
Huh , Castlevania had a fighting game
Well this would be interesting but I know like nothing about Castlevania outside of Simon , Richter, Alucard
Also Dracula beats Ganondorf in Death Battle so there is that
For the last dlc I'd have samus guest star because the original was a Wii title then if a sequel came out it be on the switch and also because fighters now tend to include characters from different franchises and finally to celebrate the two franchises that practically created the metroidvania genre fight each other!
