If this were to become official: *Ring, Ring* Robert Englund: Hello? Game producer: Hello? Is this Robert Englund? Robert Englund: Yes, why are you asking? Game producer: We're making a horror video game and we're looking for someone to voice Freddy Kruger. Are you- *Call is hung up* Um... Hello? *Door busts open at Game producer headquarters* Robert Englund: You had me at "voice Freddy".
I was honestly hoping for The Leprachaun tbh, itd be a fun deep cut character that'd be really unique and a nice "No way they got this guy in???" To add to it.
NGL I was totally expecting it to go more like “You like watching scary movies??” “SEVEN DAYS.” “Seven Days? I haven’t heard of that one. That some avant-garde indie crap?”
@@ViApp0Honestly, that leads to an even funnier intro, where you zoom in on Ghostface trying to call Sadako, but he only gets a busy signal because she's simultaneously trying to call him.
Maybe it'd have a little secret where if you enter a code when your about to get a fatality, the shark leaps out and just rips them to shreds as a fun little reference and secret.
Screw it. Also throw in Mushnik's Flower Shop as a stage too and have Audrey 2 be a stage fatality. Yeah it's more of a comedy musical, but Little Shop of *Horrors* still has a lot of those Horror elements. And besides since the stage comes from a *musical* (if you don't count the original 1960's movie) you'd know the stage would have some of the best music in the game.
Ghostface: “Do you like scary movies?” Sadako: “Seven…Days…” Ghostface: “Seven Days? Sounds like a cheap romcom featuring Keith David and Yuri Lowenthal.”
The fact that Carrie wasn't suggested during the Steven King discussion makes me sure that she's one of the DLC fighters. I also expect to see Sam from Trick 'r Treat, love that funky lil dude.
@@369destroyer Honestly didn't realize Disney owned them but it makes sense! I think there's a chance they're DLC as well since getting Disney to play along would be easier and more reasonable after they see the game performing well.
@@369destroyer Could be DLC, but I was wondering if maybe it's because they're more sci fi horror than slasher, possibly not fitting the vibe. Buuuut Gremlins are here and Thorgi did say anything is on the table so why not Aliens and Predators. Maybe my draft pick Audrey 2 will be DLC as well.
The moment he mentioned King and how he couldn't use certain characters, I immediately took pause. Besides It being the most obvious, King could kind of fit a decent chunk of his characters in a roaster alone. Cowboys, demons, shapeshifters, ghosts, werewolves, a telekinetic. He could've even used his idea for Elvira just on King himself. lol
There's also the fact that Candyman's entire goal as a slasher is to get people to believe in him and talk about him, which lets him continue existing after death. So if you were going to include any villain from a more serious horror movie, Candyman is a very good and fitting choice. Knowing how famous a lot of the killers in this game are, both out-of-universe and in-universe, I can see Candyman realizing that if word got out of him kicking Jason Voorhees' ass or killing a Ghostface, his legend would be even more famous, possibly even usurping the villains he would conquer. That sounds like the perfect ending for a Candyman story mode in a horror crossover fighting game, that he's just the undisputed king of urban legends now and everyone's terrified of him, across the nation or world.
For a story mode with a rival system I can definitely see each kind of match-up going something like: The Thing vs The Tall Man: They're both shockingly alike in a way, spreading their influence, absorbing the corpses of their victims into their fold. The Tall Man just works on a macroscopic level compared to The Thing's microscopic. Laurie vs Myers: Enough said. She's ready to end this once and for all. Ghost Face vs Sadako: The duo tried to capitalize on the tapes to make a nearly-foolproof alibi by just slipping the tapes into people's houses after taking part in its myth and finding out it worked. Too bad they didn't keep track of who they were stalking and who they were sending tapes to, and now she's hot on the trail again after one of their targets popped in the tape while they were stalking the mark. And their VHS burner happened to break not long ago. Freddy vs Jason: Jason is still PISSED that Freddy tricked him into going beyond his turf by defacing the memory of his mother. Chucky vs Leatherface: Chucky WANTS to find a new mark to get a new body, but he was abducted when the person delivering his box was taken by the Sawyer family. He'll have to make do somewhere in the dump this family lives in. Pumpkinhead vs Jigsaw: One of Kramer and Amanda's victims managed to find a particular graveyard out in the woods. And the stench of defiled bodies and tormented souls only makes Pumpkinhead stronger and stronger. Ash vs David: David's been causing some disappearances over in Ash's home town. Vampires, Deadites, they bleed all the same. Pinhead vs Pennywise: The Cenobites have long-believed that those who inflict pain must be willing and able to accept it in turn to know true bliss. Pennywise exists in defiance of that order, always giving, never accepting, perverting that balance into something incomprehensible. It is time to It to pay its pound of flesh and learn the true value of pain. Elvira vs Stripe: She's not keen on letting these little green menaces wreck up her theater. Good thing she has some friends who are ready and able to help. Red vs Candyman: They are both beings built upon existing as a reflection of American society, of taking what's hidden behind that mirror and dragging it out into the open for everyone to see. In that way there'd be a strange mutual respect from the two of them I'd think.
Everyone should realize that Elvira should have unique interactions between her and the Gremlins, if we can get the chaos from the intro in this video. Since, you know, she deals with showing off movies.
I love the idea that Elvira’s fighting style is just beating your ass with whatever she can find in the Halloween section of a Home Depot *Please make one of her Supers the 12 ft. Giant Skeleton thank you* Edit: Just realized, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t make a joke about the idea of Elvira and Ghostface being awkwardly chill rivals, where Elvira gets called on her show and just sarcastically aces all of the horror trivia thrown at her since that’s her entire job lol
Secret stage, a spirt Halloween store. Complete with off color walls and faded logos in the back. Maybe statue versions of the fighters like in the original mortal Kombat
Rivals will probably be discussed further in part 2. Now that you bring it up I hope Elvira and Ghostface are rivals. They're both Horror Experts (nerds). Ghostface represents newer horror movies, Elvira the classics. Ghostface deconstructs tropes, Elvira revels in topes.
I could see multiple dlc packs being references to certain horror stuff, like a "Send in the Clowns" Pack with Art, Horney & The Killer Klowns from Outer Space. "It Came From Another World" Pack with The Predator, Xenomorph & Mars Attacks' Martians. "Merrytime Massacre" with Jack Frost, Gingerdead Man & Santa's Slay Santa.
You know how some games have fight commentators? It would be cool if you got the Dead Meat crew or the Cryptkeeper to provide as commentary for the matches Imagine James, Chelsea, or Zoran popping off and going nuts during the match or Cryptkeeper making that laugh whenever any of the characters hit their ultras
At the end of the campaign mode James could come in and do the whole numbers segment, and even award the Dull Machete and Golden Chainsaw to your finishers (also there could be some stuff there like Ghostface being counted for two kills since there's two of them)
If the theme of the game is centered on “fun” horror movies, then perhaps the menu theme can lean into a movie theme. The character select screen could be a film screen. When all the characters are selected, it looks like a movie title with the characters’ names. Much like how UMVC3 was comic book themed with each option being a page in a comic and vanilla’s character teams being comic book covers.
Ooh, I like that! Maybe the font of character titles can be changed and unlocked to different ones, especially with all the movies and overall media many of these characters have starred in.
I just imagine pazuzu as a final boss, his intro would be Regan in her green skin twisting her head and pazuzu leaving her body, so we could also pay tribute to one of horror biggest tropes "The scary creepy child"
@@AwesomeShrekkuOne, that would never work because of size issues and Two, Godzilla isn’t really a “horror series” persay. Gremlins have more credence for that than Zilla would
@@omnii5818to be fair the first Godzilla movie was more horror themed than the newer movies, the whole movie building up Godzilla with the titular monster only appearing in the climax, and the size problem I could see being solved by pulling a galactus from marvel vs capcom where you only fight Godzilla’s top half
the funny thing is despite watching Gremlins but not Leprechaun, my brain went to the latter first because I had somewhat recently read about it after another content creator mentioned it in one of their videos a few months back.
I definitely feel like there needs to be more MONSTERS. Xenomorphs, Death Angels, and the Demogorgon may be inhuman, unspeaking beasts that look similar. But what's horror and Halloween without big, bloodthirsty beasts!!
The moment I heard the Tales from the Crypt theme when "Here Comes A New Challenger" came up, I almost thought the Crypt-Keeper was going to be in this roster... and I don't think anyone would be against him being in this game, at least as a narrator xD
The Killer Klowns from Outer Space would be so much fun in this type of game. They could work like TMNT in injustice 2 so we could have Shorty, Rudy, Slim, and Jumbo
Holy shit is that Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams, the titular main protagonist from the fictional horror TV series produced by Sam Raimi, known as Ash vs Evil Dead, where his task is to kill the opposing zombie-like monstrous opponents known as Deadites?
No,that is Ash from the video game "evil dead: the game" a 2022 asymmetric survival horror game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Boss Team Games
The voice lines would be great to reflect that. For example: To David: Where's a wooden stake when you need one? To Michael Myers: Its an honour. To Ash: Good to see a fellow human. Too bad I have to gut ya like a fish.
I want to give an entire roster of Horror Icons some hot chocolate. EDIT: Okay, using the UMVC3 Ghost Rider theme for Ash in the background is actually perfect.
She's too similar to Sadako, being a girl with psychic powers, but I could see her being a DLC skin. But if Carrie is getting in, we gotta get Roland D. Lebay in too.
You got me with the Gremlin fakeout, lol, lmao even. Also, why not both ideas for the end? Have the rival battles play out like a Soul Calibur game with a cutscene and have their maxed out versions at the start. Then once you beat them, Pazuzu comes out of the body and reveals his true form, then which you have to fight him. Which would also explain why the rival was maxed out in the first place. Really looking forward to part 2!
The reference potential even just with stages for a game like this would be crazy. Doubt there will be any mention of these, but representation for movies like critters, tremors, and eight legged freaks would mean so much to me.
I'd like a stage based on Nope. Imagine the stage finisher: You knock the opponent in the background and Jean Jacket arrives and sucks the defeated opponent into its maw, only for it to spew out a torrent of blood onto the house! That would be amazing!
The sheer amount of stage fatalities is insane as a whole. The wave of blood from The Shining crushes you, One of One-Eye's traps saws you in half, The Truck from Duel flattens you like a pancake, or Christine.
@@bautistagimenezcorti404 Nightmare on Elm street stage where each side of the stage is a different kill from the movies? One could be knocking the opponent onto the blood fountain bed.
@@bautistagimenezcorti404 the Research outpost from The Thing: You knock the opponent into the hole from the end of the 1982 film. A spark lights up a stick of dynamite and, before the opponent realizes what’s happening, you blow the opponent sky high! You could even recreate the shot of the massive boom before the win screen shows. On a side note, The Thing as the random space is a great idea. It works it into the game in a pretty constructive way.
Some character interactions to Ghostface calling/"What's Your favorite" movie. (If the phone is destroyed or hung up, assume theres a cut to Ghostface) 1. @@OtakukunoichiI think a phone call Ghost Face has with the Gremlins would be pretty hilarious. Heck, imagine Ghostface’s phone function stays the same, but instead it’s staged where the Gremlins call him instead of him, just messing around with him through prank calls and just babbling a lot of nonsense, and Ghostface becoming stronger could just be him getting fed up with these little craps and wanting to put an end to them. i love what you did with laurie strode and michael meyers being really good counters to each other she has range , he has armor on some attacks, she can counter he can grab to avoid the counter and if the knockback of the shotgun is strong enough (or other attack) she can push him away to start the song and dance again. friggin storytelling with game mechanics
Literally I went "Oh, Leprechauns, I was thinking for sure Gremlins. Aw wait, fuckin' TH-cam crashing, what the he--- okay actually what the hell is going OH YOU MOTHER F-"
I had a weird idea to give Laurie some Cammy move sets. Have her be possessed by the Book of the Dead. Give her an Evil Dead 2 design. Have her flipping around like the pit fighter from Army of Darkness.
I was watching this in full screen mode on my tv, and the Gremlins fake-out really got me, lol... Also, I think that the Grim Reaper would be an interesting final boss... His motivation being that he's ticked off at the game's roster for constantly making him work overtime shuffling their immortal souls to their final destinations.
53:20 "a little green fellow who hails from the other side of the ocean and just loves to cause mischief" I genuinely thought you were going to say Godzilla and "little" was a misdirect
It’d be so cool if Amanda’s resurrection move would be the pig getting knocked out and you hear Jigsaws voice over say ‘hello Zepp’ before Amanda jumps out from the other side of the screen
wouldn't be cool if whenever you use Amanda there would be and old man lying on the floor, and the resurrection attack is the old man standing up and doing a final attack which if hits he says "game over". I know it doesn't make sense because that's something from the first movie when amanda wasn't jigsaw at that point.
True lol. I'd imagine Dracula would have some great lines against the characters for example (apologies for the crap writing). Ash: You again? (Reference to the Army of Darkness comics where yes Ash fought Dracula) David: Prehaps we can work together? Jason: You would make a fine servant alongside Renfield Ghostface: I prefer novels myself. Michael Myers: You also be pursued by a Hunter? Leatherface: You and your family repulse me. Freddy: I will be your worst nightmare. Pazusu Final Boss: Was it you who spawned this cursed bloodline?

An easy way for rivalries to naturally exist, and a good story for the game that fits with the unique trait of most of these characters being villains, would be that the main villain has made everyone one of these icons target a single girl on the same night, hell, that girl can be Regan and it's Pazuzu trying to lure everyone. Jason is told by "his mother" in a similar way to how he was tricked in Freddy vs Jason, Chucky catches wind and is going to try and swap bodies with her, both Ash and Laurie hear about it and are trying to protect her, the Gremlins just wanna mess with her, and this is perfect fodder for rivalries. Jason and Michael are both stalking outside the house when they see each other and both want to take this target for themselves. Each character's ending is them defeating Pazuzu and claiming the kill for themselves. Now, not every character is the same, as I said Ash and Laurie go by themselves to stop what's happening, so you can write different motivations for everyone, but the idea is that they're all making a nightmarish road trip to this one house on this one night.

it really says something about how incredible you are at making these videos that I, someone with almost no interest in horror due to being incredibly squeamish and easily scared, had an absolute blast watching this. Super excited for part 2! Also man, the rules in the beginning now have me wondering about what a fighting game crossing over horror video game characters would look like
One thing to add for Stripe. The chaos meter is a perfect idea, but we can make him more chaotic. His level 3 super is that spider form from Gremlins 2. If his chaos meter isn't quite full, he just does the super. But, if you fill it up, Gizmo comes in just like the film, shoots Stripe with a flaming arrow, and the ensuing explosion hurts both Stripe, and the opponent. Imagine the sheer amount of pure salt when someone ends a tournament final with that, getting a double K.O. That is the most Stripe thing I can possibly imagine.
The plot wasn't really discussed because to be fair it doesn't really need to, but if you touch on it in part 2, I think it'd be cool if the idea of the arcade story would be that each character is controlled by the crew from cabin in the woods, and each character trying to overthrow the facility in some way
Imagine this All fighters decide to Go "fuck It big temporary truce" and proceed with a scene were they absulitely massacret everyone in the facility with a nine Ice kill cover of ready to die
This is a REALLY solid line-up! I was especially happy to see Sadako and was hoping Red would make the cut as well. Elvira was also a great choice! And I loved the fake out with Leprechaun. I can also already see the potential DLC characters: Carrie (another Stephen King character I could see work in a fighter), Art the Clown, M3GAN, and Shaun (as in Shaun of the Dead, a good way to get a character from the zombie genre and he could be comedic and utilize zombies in attacks).
43:18 On the contrary! Vengeance Meter sounds totally *METAL!!* I am all in! Also, when you brought up the idea of a gameplay mechanic integrating horror characters’ tendency to survive or just straight up come back to life from insane shit, I was a little disappointed you didn’t mention Herbert West at all. I mean, the dude is a literal necromancer! Summoning zombies that could hurt the opponent and him, injecting himself with his own serum, strapping down his opponent on a surgical table to mutilate them and turn them into his experiment, there’s so much you could do with the Re-Animator. Plus, it would be some nice Lovecraft rep. Edit: And wouldn’t you know it, that’s the first guy you brought up as DLC in part 2! Called it!
Dude I’m so stoked!! I immediately thought he was talking Gremlins and I saw the Leprechaun and thought “okay yeah that makes sense wish it were the gremlins” just to be so happy with how he chose to pull them out haha
First off, I’m surprised The American Werewolf in London didn’t get into the roster considering you’ve got a vampire, and everyone knows if you’ve got a vampire, it needs to fight a werewolf! Plus, AWiL was even in the intro for the video, but I digress. That absolutely gnarly transformation scene would be amazing as an install or intro for the character. As for the weird character, I don’t know if he qualifies as a horror character, but I think Betelgeuse fits the role PERFECTLY. His movie is creepy but fun, he’s an absolute riot, and his moveset has nearly infinite potential with how wacky he is. Great video overall tho!
Elvira: "Well, aren't you an adorable little abomination." Spike: "Hehehehaha! My time to shine!" Elvira: "Sorry, but I'm main star. You're just the side character."
David win quotes David: Jason, The Momma's boy? You really thought you could kill me? I wouldn't drink your tanted blood if you were the last thing on this planet. David: Damn Mayers and I thought Jason had issues. You can't even kill a one Baby Sitter or a final girl. @#$& off!

Some ideas for David's Intro lines: To Ash: 1. David: What's this I hear about the Necronomicon? Ash: Jeez another bloodsucker wanting the damn book? (Reference to the Army of Darkness comics where Ash fought Dracula himself). 2. David: I'll suck you dry Chosen One Ash: So you're gonna ignore most of your team got their asses kicked by literal kids? To Ghostface: Ghostface: What's your favourite scary movie, Vampire boy? David: Near Dark is a personal fav of mine. (Another Vampire movie that came out in 1987) To Leatherface: David: You also take pride in family. I can respect that.
Another idea for a Final Girl would be Nancy, from Elm Street. Specifically, could be her from Dream Warriors. She could have a few dream powers to give her an edge, while also being able to set up traps to keep opponents on her toes. Hell, Nancy in Nightmare 1 was basically just Kevin from Home Alone at the end, and that's a kinda trapper I wanna see in fighting games. But we can't just put Kevin in this...can we? Edit: Elvira is a pick I am in love with and you didn't even need to say a word. I grew up watching her and Svengoolie, so seeing a Horror Host make it as more than announcers is amazing. I would love to see DLC packs for her where she can get a new summon. Like Blade from Puppet Master, or a Killer Klown from Outter Space.
The funny thing about this Ultimate Horror Crossover fighting game is that the scariest aspect isn't the roster of freaks and monsters. It's that it's riddled to the brim with comeback mechanics.
I'm one of the huge horror nerds who gets excited whenever people remember Pumpkinhead exists. The first one didn't get much love in its day, but it deserved way more; it's not a perfect movie or anything but it's just absolutely suffused with character and you can really feel the love that was poured into it. The mournful southern gothic fairy tale atmosphere, the incredible practical effects and monster design (even if Pumpkinhead himself is definitely reminiscent of a xenomorph), Lance Henriksen grounding the plot with a characteristically great performance, one of the creepiest witches in any horror media, fantastic cinematography and use of color. As a franchise, it got hit harder by the diminishing returns stick than usual (and I say that as a guy with a very high tolerance for infinite horror sequels), but the first was something special.
I utterly adore Red and didn’t expect her to be the modern pic, and I was doing a thing where I looked away and tried to guess who everyone was from the audio, and hearing the hall of mirrors speech gave me so much joy thank you
I think Red from "Us" is the coolest pick, if only because that level 3 of calling on the dweller version of the opponent sounds dope as hell. Plus Jordan Peele is one of the biggest names in modern horror some of one their movies should have some representation in this hypothetical game.
The way you described Leatherface's hypothetical moveset here reminded me a bit of Bane from Injustice. He can buff himself with his Venom drug up to three times, increasing his damage and giving some of his moves new properties, but after the buff ends he gets a debuff to his speed and damage that lasts longer and is more debilitating based on the level of buff you used.
I have a idea of Elvira breaking the fourth wall by calling the characters by their actors names for example: Freddy: welcome to primetime bitch! Elvira: been there done that Robert Freddy: who the fuck is robert!?
Y'know for The Thing, if you really wanted to add it in as its own character for DLC the way it could be unlocked could be by completing that one arcade mode you mentioned where it transforms into the defeated character after each fight a few times and could play like one of those fighting game characters that copy a bunch of other characters movesets for its own, creating a really unique mish-mash playstyle
Red having tethered counterparts of the other fighters to send out and fight would not only be super cool, but also have so many disturbing implications considering how much messed up stuff these horror characters have physically been through. Like if Red is resentful of her counterpart while they live a relatively normal family life, imagine how much burning hatred these tethers would have for their counterparts putting them through all the beatings from final girls and getting killed and resurrected over and over?!
When the leprechaun bit happened I was actually thinking "Man Stripe would be such a good choice" Then that bit happened I think this might be my favourite TH-cam moment
@@BigBossMan538honestly, I would be down to have the entire Xenomorph species as a fighter Call the fighter the "Xenomorph Queen" or whatever, but have the fighter be a Xenomorph variant It'll be a stance character, being able to switch between being stealthy, to being ruthless killing machines. For the power up mechanic, have the current Xenomorph retreat into a vent system, only for a stronger variant of the Xenomorph to come out from above (think like how Alien appeared in the MKX trailer) In the max level for the power up, Xenomorph's level 3 would have it lay eggs (I recall them being able to do that, idk) and the eggs would hatch into facehuggers who'd lay eggs inside the opponent. This causes the enemy to slowly (like, super slowly) lose health, but when their health gets low, a chest burster will pop out of the opponent, instantly killing them
Just so you know, john uses the pig costume too, and is really strong in the movies, lifting people up and stuff to put them in his traps, so he could still be playable
If comedic horror counts, then I’d love to see Rocky from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Other picks for me would be: -Toxic Avenger -the Repo Man (Repo: The Genetic Opera) -Dren (Spice) -Victor Crowley (Hatchet)

I’d like to think a good announcer for the game could be James A. Janisse from Dead Meat, the guy who does the Kill Counts for all of your favorite horror movies
Speaking of hypothetical games I would love to see you build a roster for Avatar the Last air bender/Korra fighting game. Since Nick is only ever going to make low budget mediocre games with that property.
@@meganpayette5996I'd love to see this channel tackle a potential ATLA fighting game as well. Especially since the franchise is based on real-world marital arts. Whether as a "traditional" 2D fighting game or a more 3D fighting game where the characters bend the environment you play on. I can see the DLC packs being modeled after the Four Nations and follow the Avatar Cycle. Sozin's Comet Ozai is the end of Arcade Boss Fight.
She's the one that scares me the most out of this roster, but screw it, I'll main Sadako. Amazing Job with part.1 Thorgi, the joy and exciment that your voice transmit when talking about horror makes the video even more fun. Looking forward that second video!
This is without a doubt my favorite Build a Roster episode. Also, you gotta have the announcer for the game be The Crypt Keeper. Like maybe after a match he could spout out a pun at the loser’s expense Can’t wait for Part 2!
I’m going to make some bold hope before the video is live but I usually he always has a WTF pick that he usually does in these BTR and if you were asking me, the pick that I would actually be the Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I don’t think they will appear in the roster but I do think that the klowns might have one of the best moveset potentials as they have a lot of unique items that they used in the film to either track or kill their victims. The only problem that I would see be very difficult is actually choosing which klown should be the main one but I’m either leaning towards it either being Slim or Jumbo but who knows. This is just a hope
I think a cool mechanic would be a charm system, at the character select screen you could also select a charm/object which will give you a minor passive ability, this way you can sneak a bunch of references to other horror movies. For example: One charm would be a piece of the blob which would add a tiny amount of damage over time to your physical attacks, another one would be the necronomicon, which would summon a tiny minion or something eveey x amount of seconds, or if you add a creepypasta rep to the DLC, one of the DLC charm's could be a picture of smile dog which would cloud the screen of the opponent and mess with their game audio every so often. IDK, i just think it would be cool.
I would love A creepy pasta charm being called “pirated hedgehog game” which makes your characters slightly faster, which while obviously being a sonic.exe reference it’s also a reference to how most game creepy-pasta’s start with a pirated copy of “x” game
@@If_i_flirt_its_on_accident yes, that would be really cool, other things could be like "weird children drawings" for the trope of creepy children drawings in horror media and it would give you a tiny boost in combo damage
Here's an interesting idea. For the arcade mode, what if there was a bonus stage similar to the car smashing stage from Street Fighter, but you would be fighting against a random human You would get points depending on how gruesome your attacks are.
Yeaaaaaah thats a good idea. The bonus stage is that youre a home invader and you get points for how creative your kills are. But if youre playing as a good guy then maybe you just slash up a bunch of xenomorps idk
I've always thought it could work to put Chucky in a fighting game by having him basically piloting some poor helpless parent who is agreeing to help him to keep him away from their kid. Kinda like Ferra/Tor from MKX
Could you imagine the stage intro for some of these guys? Like for example: A vortex/portal opens at the top of the screen as Ash falls out of it, cocking his shotgun before saying a one-liner. Fog rolls in from one side of the screen and Jason appears once it subsides, putting his mask on before whipping out his machete. Michael lowers himself down from the ceiling andor top of the stage (which would be a nod to that one part in Halloween: H20/Resurrection.) Leatherface slowly walks onto the stage before starting up his chainsaw. Candyman gracefully floats down, saying either "be my victim..." or "I've came for you..." Large flames break out as Freddy materializes from them, either saying a quip to the opponent or simply laughing. The Tall Man steps out of his time machine teleporter thingy, sphere in hand as he says one of his lines (either "I have plans for you" or "the funeral is about to begin!") A large horde of gremlins stampede from one side of the screen to the other, with the only one left behind being Stripe. Pumpkinhead's corpse lays motionless on the stage before suddenly contorting and changing as the demon grows to full size, snarling at the opponent. We see a Good Guy's box sitting on the stage that begins to shake violently before Chucky finally bursts from it, shouting an obsecenity at the opponent. The Lament Configuration sits by itself before Pinhead materializes from lightning and picks the puzzle box up. A large hole opens up on the floor of the stage as Sadako slowly crawls out from it and stands up. A large block of ice sits still on the stage and we can vaguely see something inside of it, which moves slightly before suddenly bursting open; the creature revealing itself to be The Thing as it roars at the opponent.
So here's a Wildcard Fighter idea: Christine (Yes, the car that kills people) It would be ridiculously awesome to see Christine battle like the Daytona car fighter from Fighters Megamix.
Not gonna lie, as soon as you excluded video game monsters you immediately made me want to see what a Build the Roster would look like for video game monsters. We get Boo, Nemesis, Morrgan, Dracula (Castlevania), Pyramidhead, Gengar, Mimmikyu, Weregarurumon... Actually could be a fun fighting game
I would definitely include Sam from Trick 'r Treat, if for no other reason than the sound of his candy bag thumping into someone and hearing the cats yelp.
If you were going to do the rival possibility as the end boss of Arcade Mode, since we have an odd numbered roster, I think the coolest option would be to have one of the characters have multiple options for their rival. What I was thinking was have Elvira cycle through every character in the game, having a different final encounter every time. Plus, if you beat Arcade Mode as Elvira and have faced every character as your rival, you get a special achievement. For another idea for alternate costume fighters, an obvious pick would be Evil Ash from Army of Darkness. Also, as for DLC, definitely down for Art the Clown and Leprechaun coming in, but my biggest wish for that video is Toxie from The Toxic Avenger. He's both the hero and the monster of his franchise, and he's got a HUGE potential for a moveset.
If you ever wanted another hero in the roster as dlc, I think Burt Gummer from Tremors could be cool- he’s a gun/explosive nut, he’s batshit insane, and he could probably have a move where he kicks an opponent into the path of a Graboid! Tremors is a mad underrated series xD
My mind is racing with ideas for the DLC. Captain Spaulding, The Toxic Avenger, Andre Toulon (surprised he didn't make the base roster since he literally screams 'Puppet Character'), Doctor Giggles, The Wishmaster, Ginger (if we've got a vampire, we need a werewolf too), George Nada, Father McGruder, Sil, The Janitor from Wally's Wonderland... I could go on
Shame there are no good werewolf options for David to fight, most don't have much to build a move set from though if I had to pick I'd go with another David, David Kessler from American Werewolf in London. He could be a rush down/grapple character, maybe growing stronger as the moon rises?

@@ViApp0Honestly, that leads to an even funnier intro, where you zoom in on Ghostface trying to call Sadako, but he only gets a busy signal because she's simultaneously trying to call him.
The beach from Jaws has to be a stage with Bruce being a stage fatality
Maybe it'd have a little secret where if you enter a code when your about to get a fatality, the shark leaps out and just rips them to shreds as a fun little reference and secret.
Screw it. Also throw in Mushnik's Flower Shop as a stage too and have Audrey 2 be a stage fatality. Yeah it's more of a comedy musical, but Little Shop of *Horrors* still has a lot of those Horror elements.
And besides since the stage comes from a *musical* (if you don't count the original 1960's movie) you'd know the stage would have some of the best music in the game.
Wait, his name is Bruce? This whole time I've been calling him Jaws.

@@369destroyer Honestly didn't realize Disney owned them but it makes sense! I think there's a chance they're DLC as well since getting Disney to play along would be easier and more reasonable after they see the game performing well.

Let's add a Vincent Price Impersonation too for a classic effect.
A Rod Sterling voice would also be great
Other Horror announcers I'd choose is: King Diamond, Christopher Lee impression, Hannibal Lector and James A Janisse from Dead Meat YT channel
@@pop000690James A. Janisse announcer voice would go so hard.
Ooh, what about Matthew Lillard using his Ghostface voice? In Ghostface's story mode, he could say something like "There his is, my successor."
So Candyman's like Freddy Krueger?
@@ashtongiertz8728Less Freddy, more “say their names”.
I'm just gonna say this, when it comes to the soundtrack, if anyone could make a good score for a horror fighting game, it would be Ice Nine Kills.
Facts.
Honestly
Thats just a fact.
I hope they make an album based of horror games.
I enjoy Ice Nine Kills, but if Freddy is in this game, Dokken needs to help contribute to the score.
I would absolutely no life a horror fighting game with an INK soundtrack
For a story mode with a rival system I can definitely see each kind of match-up going something like:
The Thing vs The Tall Man: They're both shockingly alike in a way, spreading their influence, absorbing the corpses of their victims into their fold.
Those sound like good interesting ideas. my dear good friend.
Elvira is the funniest character idea I have ever heard for a roster like this, pure perfection.
Elvira is a PEAK joke character
Everyone should realize that Elvira should have unique interactions between her and the Gremlins, if we can get the chaos from the intro in this video.

@@jackmafo832 my man, yep. You got that correct.
You know how some games have fight commentators?
It would be cool if you got the Dead Meat crew or the Cryptkeeper to provide as commentary for the matches
Imagine James, Chelsea, or Zoran popping off and going nuts during the match or Cryptkeeper making that laugh whenever any of the characters hit their ultras
You sir would be swimming in money for years.
Both at the same time, perhaps? Maybe that live commentary system in SF6, with James and the Cryptkeeper narrating?
James comes out at the end of a 'fatality' and gives it the Golden Chainsaw!
This game would obviously have something akin to fatalities, so when you complete the story mode, James does his usual shtick of the coolest kill.
Reminds me of Skullgirls with the film noir style.
Ah so like war of the monsters, love it.

"Good job, now in Halloween 2, what song played in the beginning?"
"Mr. Sandman. Love that song."
"Uhh... Okay. In Silence of the Lambs, what word was used to-"
"Monster."

@@opadrip and another ghostface phone interaction
it really says something about how incredible you are at making these videos that I, someone with almost no interest in horror due to being incredibly squeamish and easily scared, had an absolute blast watching this. Super excited for part 2! Also man, the rules in the beginning now have me wondering about what a fighting game crossing over horror video game characters would look like
My thoughts EXACTLY
It’s Divekick’s spooky cousin, Jumpscare :y
Same. Hate the gore and jump scares of horror, but this was a fun watch
The plot wasn't really discussed because to be fair it doesn't really need to, but if you touch on it in part 2, I think it'd be cool if the idea of the arcade story would be that each character is controlled by the crew from cabin in the woods, and each character trying to overthrow the facility in some way
Imagine this
All fighters decide to Go "fuck It big temporary truce" and proceed with a scene were they absulitely massacret everyone in the facility with a nine Ice kill cover of ready to die
Carrie would probably only be a skin for Sadako due to them being too similar.
Carrie’s move set may look similar to the MUGEN version of Lucy from Elfen Lied.
If Gremlin with its looney tunes and comedy fits, I don’t see reason why Beetlejuice can’t.
Elvira: "Well, aren't you an adorable little abomination."
Spike: "Hehehehaha! My time to shine!"
Elvira: "Sorry, but I'm main star. You're just the side character."
David win quotes
David: Jason, The Momma's boy? You really thought you could kill me? I wouldn't drink your tanted blood if you were the last thing on this planet. David: Damn Mayers and I thought Jason had issues. You can't even kill a one Baby Sitter or a final girl. @#$& off!
Sweeney todd to leatherface:a shame i have to put you down by you breath you would have loved miss lovett meat pies
Leatherface to sweeney:*notice a meat pie in his pocket, eat and make his chainsaw dance because he love it*
Some ideas for David's Intro lines:
To Ash:
1.
David: What's this I hear about the Necronomicon?
Ash: Jeez another bloodsucker wanting the damn book? (Reference to the Army of Darkness comics where Ash fought Dracula himself).
2.
David: I'll suck you dry Chosen One
Ash: So you're gonna ignore most of your team got their asses kicked by literal kids?
To Ghostface:
Ghostface: What's your favourite scary movie, Vampire boy?
David: Near Dark is a personal fav of mine. (Another Vampire movie that came out in 1987)
To Leatherface:
David: You also take pride in family.
You got me with that leprechaun fake out
I utterly adore Red and didn’t expect her to be the modern pic, and I was doing a thing where I looked away and tried to guess who everyone was from the audio, and hearing the hall of mirrors speech gave me so much joy thank you
I think Red from "Us" is the coolest pick, if only because that level 3 of calling on the dweller version of the opponent sounds dope as hell. Plus Jordan Peele is one of the biggest names in modern horror some of one their movies should have some representation in this hypothetical game.
And maybe, bring on Horror Anime and Cartoon Heroes and Villains into the mix too? That means people like Bill Cipher and Denji.
@@maxleon61702 Or Shino from Hololive ERROR because I am a gigaweeb (already broke down the idea of her in this in its own comment)
The way you described Leatherface's hypothetical moveset here reminded me a bit of Bane from Injustice. He can buff himself with his Venom drug up to three times, increasing his damage and giving some of his moves new properties, but after the buff ends he gets a debuff to his speed and damage that lasts longer and is more debilitating based on the level of buff you used.
this was a BLAST, one of the more fun and hype BTRs and the extra effort was brilliant to see. Here's hoping Pearl makes the DLC!
I have a idea of Elvira breaking the fourth wall by calling the characters by their actors names for example:
Freddy: welcome to primetime bitch!
Elvira: been there done that Robert
Freddy: who the fuck is robert!?
Y'know for The Thing, if you really wanted to add it in as its own character for DLC the way it could be unlocked could be by completing that one arcade mode you mentioned where it transforms into the defeated character after each fight a few times and could play like one of those fighting game characters that copy a bunch of other characters movesets for its own, creating a really unique mish-mash playstyle
Basically Double from Skullgirls?
@@ashtongiertz8728Or Emerl from Sonic Battle (rip my fave robot boy. Too pure for this world)
Red having tethered counterparts of the other fighters to send out and fight would not only be super cool, but also have so many disturbing implications considering how much messed up stuff these horror characters have physically been through.
Like if Red is resentful of her counterpart while they live a relatively normal family life, imagine how much burning hatred these tethers would have for their counterparts putting them through all the beatings from final girls and getting killed and resurrected over and over?!
Not to mention the fact that the tethered counterparts would be forced to kill other tethereds.
When the leprechaun bit happened I was actually thinking "Man Stripe would be such a good choice"
Then that bit happened
I think this might be my favourite TH-cam moment
Michael Myers mirror match: *standing still for like 30 seconds*
Already one of my favorite BTRs, can’t wait for Part 2! We better see the Xenomorph in the DLC
What if the Alien rep was Ripley? Since the Xenomorph isn’t a character, but a species. Basically a vicious animal
Yeah & Predator!
@@BigBossMan538 If we're getting Ripley as the Alien rep we should also get Dutch as the Predator rep then!
@@BigBossMan538honestly, I would be down to have the entire Xenomorph species as a fighter
Call the fighter the "Xenomorph Queen" or whatever, but have the fighter be a Xenomorph variant
It'll be a stance character, being able to switch between being stealthy, to being ruthless killing machines. For the power up mechanic, have the current Xenomorph retreat into a vent system, only for a stronger variant of the Xenomorph to come out from above (think like how Alien appeared in the MKX trailer)
In the max level for the power up, Xenomorph's level 3 would have it lay eggs (I recall them being able to do that, idk) and the eggs would hatch into facehuggers who'd lay eggs inside the opponent. This causes the enemy to slowly (like, super slowly) lose health, but when their health gets low, a chest burster will pop out of the opponent, instantly killing them
54:00 well done thorgi. Well done. You pyscho mantis'd me. I got eternal darkness'd
Just so you know, john uses the pig costume too, and is really strong in the movies, lifting people up and stuff to put them in his traps, so he could still be playable
Freddy: ready for the rematch
Jason: sigh
Freddy: mute as alway, hockey puck
If comedic horror counts, then I’d love to see Rocky from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Other picks for me would be:
-Toxic Avenger
-the Repo Man (Repo: The Genetic Opera)
-Dren (Spice)
-Victor Crowley (Hatchet)
What about sil from Species
Toxic Avenger would be a great inclusion
@@tyronleung5276 I figured she'd already be on a ton of other lists, so I didn't include her. I did think of mentioning her.
-courage
-pomni (amazing digital circus)
-grim
-creepy Susie
-dead head fred

Yeah and then you can give your 9 hour critique on why it's terrible, and all its missed potential
An Avatar the Last Airbender fighting game would be so sick!
Would love to see a NOPE Star Lasso stage with Jean Jacket stage fatality that shows the character being digested like the scene
Ash: "Groovy~"
As a huge horror and fighting game fan, I absolutely LOVED this! And Elvira as a roster pick is inspired!
She's the one that scares me the most out of this roster, but screw it, I'll main Sadako. Amazing Job with part.1 Thorgi, the joy and exciment that your voice transmit when talking about horror makes the video even more fun. Looking forward that second video!
"you can hit a kid with a standing normal" is the most hilarious thing lol
This is without a doubt my favorite Build a Roster episode.
Also, you gotta have the announcer for the game be The Crypt Keeper. Like maybe after a match he could spout out a pun at the loser’s expense
Can’t wait for Part 2!
A horror fighting game with iconic movie characters would be so much fun
I’m going to make some bold hope before the video is live but I usually he always has a WTF pick that he usually does in these BTR and if you were asking me, the pick that I would actually be the Killer Klowns from Outer Space. I don’t think they will appear in the roster but I do think that the klowns might have one of the best moveset potentials as they have a lot of unique items that they used in the film to either track or kill their victims. The only problem that I would see be very difficult is actually choosing which klown should be the main one but I’m either leaning towards it either being Slim or Jumbo but who knows. This is just a hope
I'm gonna say it, for part 2, patrick bateman as DLC, lots of potential for a moveset in there
they could also just do alt costumes for the different klowns the only issue is see really is the height difference
my WTF pick would be the tomatoes from attack of the killing tomatoes
I think a cool mechanic would be a charm system, at the character select screen you could also select a charm/object which will give you a minor passive ability, this way you can sneak a bunch of references to other horror movies.
For example:
One charm would be a piece of the blob which would add a tiny amount of damage over time to your physical attacks, another one would be the necronomicon, which would summon a tiny minion or something eveey x amount of seconds, or if you add a creepypasta rep to the DLC, one of the DLC charm's could be a picture of smile dog which would cloud the screen of the opponent and mess with their game audio every so often.
@@francozavalamorgan7211you can use Annabelle to mess with the opponent
Here's an interesting idea. For the arcade mode, what if there was a bonus stage similar to the car smashing stage from Street Fighter, but you would be fighting against a random human You would get points depending on how gruesome your attacks are.
Replace the car with a victim and you attack them until you kill them.
Yeaaaaaah thats a good idea. The bonus stage is that youre a home invader and you get points for how creative your kills are. But if youre playing as a good guy then maybe you just slash up a bunch of xenomorps idk
Imagine Laurie or Ash just violently killing an innocent man in their own house lmao
@@mirzapramudya1580 idk change the human to some deadnite or big creature
@@jamesjoe1690ooooh the hero's could be more specific. Like for Ash, you could be slaughtering deadites.
I've always thought it could work to put Chucky in a fighting game by having him basically piloting some poor helpless parent who is agreeing to help him to keep him away from their kid. Kinda like Ferra/Tor from MKX
Could you imagine the stage intro for some of these guys? Like for example:
A vortex/portal opens at the top of the screen as Ash falls out of it, cocking his shotgun before saying a one-liner.
Fog rolls in from one side of the screen and Jason appears once it subsides, putting his mask on before whipping out his machete.
Michael lowers himself down from the ceiling andor top of the stage (which would be a nod to that one part in Halloween: H20/Resurrection.)
Leatherface slowly walks onto the stage before starting up his chainsaw.
Candyman gracefully floats down, saying either "be my victim..." or "I've came for you..."
Large flames break out as Freddy materializes from them, either saying a quip to the opponent or simply laughing.
The Tall Man steps out of his time machine teleporter thingy, sphere in hand as he says one of his lines (either "I have plans for you" or "the funeral is about to begin!")
A large horde of gremlins stampede from one side of the screen to the other, with the only one left behind being Stripe.
Red comes in and stands with her tethered family.
Why a hole? Sadako should crawl out of a TV set.
So here's a Wildcard Fighter idea:
Christine (Yes, the car that kills people)
It would be ridiculously awesome to see Christine battle like the Daytona car fighter from Fighters Megamix.
I could go on
Definitely cultured if you remember the toxic avenger and puppet master
Could also add Art the clown, Psycho Goreman or Pandora, or maybe even the Beldam if you want an animated villain
This is the single best idea I’ve ever seen! AND KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SLACE IS IN IT??!! ITS LITERALLY PERFECT!!!!!
I personally feel like a great name for your horror meter mechanic could be the "Suspense Gauge"
great video!
Shame there are no good werewolf options for David to fight, most don't have much to build a move set from though if I had to pick I'd go with another David, David Kessler from American Werewolf in London.
He could be a rush down/grapple character, maybe growing stronger as the moon rises?
First time watching this channel for the spooky horror crossover content vibes this video gives. Can't wait for PT 2!
Bro scared the shit out of me with that leprechaun transition all the tvs in my house went quiet at the same time
