So I was on TH-cam and was watching, since I never played it, the visual novel (cutscenes) of
Wing Commander II: Vengeance of The Kilrathi
….
Not only has Blair (the player’s character could be named by you at that point) met the prince when he was recovered from his ejection pod, the prince even demanded to be released and be able to kill his cousin who attempted to assassinate. He even had the husk to demand a confederation fighter and offered Blair a chance to fly on his wing…presumably to be let go or maybe duke it out after.
The prince escapes during a power outage and attacks Hobbes-off screen.
So they have met before, but one could argue cannon.

Ich wünschte, sie hätten die Serie damals nicht weiter fortgesetzt. Imho ging es damals ohne die Kilrathi als Feind steil bergab.
Was bleibt ist ein Ende, bei dem man wirklich mal die Heimatwelt der Aliens sprengen durfte. Episch, für die 90iger.
