    I'm a straight hair natural too ! I noticed that when I would wear my hair in its natural state I was washing it more often because I couldn't let the gel and oil from wash and go's sit longer than three days. My hair required more effort, was dried out from the constant washing and cost a small fortune with the buying of products. Now I'm a straight natural and its less effort. I wrap my hair at night and deal with less breakage because I'm not always in it ! My wash days are every three weeks instead of every three days. My products last longer. It's worked for me.

    Great video! I'm a straight hair natural too sis and it saved my hair. I tried to do natural styles (braidouts, twistouts, wash n go's etc.) And my hair would break alot from single strand knots and it was hard to maintain moisture. Once I just started straightening my hair, I was able to grow it down to tailbone length and my hair stays straight even in Texas heat. 🤭

    • @janellnicoleslife9715
      @janellnicoleslife9715  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I agree! Those are some of the reason that I chose to be a straight hair natural & I’m glad it’s working so well for you too. That Texas heat is too much for haha but yess love how your hair is flourishing 👏🏾☺️🤍

      @Trinity M The reason why black women with long natural hair have to clarify if we're natural is for many reasons. A lot (not all) of black women wear fake curly wigs, weaves crochet ect OR straight clip-ins, weave, wigs. It's a lot of black women who do it. Not bashing them. But when us long naturals come out the scene with our long curly or straight hair we get asked by a million people if it's "all ours" or "is it real". So if we do a video, make a post, see someone in person whatever. We have to clarify YES. This is my long natural hair that grows out of my scalp and I have no added fake hair in it. That is typically why.

      MEEEEE!!! I've been a straight natural since the pandemic when I learned to stop using oils in my silk press. My hair has THRIVEDDDD and I save hours of time a week, and use 75% less product than before.

    • @jadesmith7983
      @jadesmith7983 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Givebackthescarf The term natural just means the hair that grows from your scalp that's not chemically processed. So I'm personally not trying to share a title it's just what my hair is. When I wash my hair, it reverts back to its curly state. Straightening it is temporary. Yes, you can say heat is damaging, but so are a lot of things we do to our hair, like over styling, wearing wigs, tight braids, tight updos, too much protein, etc. But you can't compare color processing to a silk press because most color is permanent. My hair personally is a lot to deal with. I have a son, and the least I have to do with it the better. I tried all of the "natural styles" for years and found it was more work and caused a lot of breakage. I didn't receive hair discrimination during this process, although some people were surprised I went natural. Either way, I found that straightening my hair 3x a year was little heat and low maintenance. I was able to see length retention in that time and made sure I kept up the health of my hair with trims and deep conditioning. Being natural isn't about some journey of public scrutiny (although that may be your story). It's about turning away from chemicals that permanently alter our hair and cause more harm than good. You don't have to straighten your hair, but it wouldn't make you any more or less natural since it's temporary.

    When I was a kid my mom pressed my hair every 2 or 3 weeks and it was the healthiest that it’s ever been. As an adult I bought into the “no heat” rule that many naturals live by and for years I struggled with my hair. I started blowing out my hair last year and finally began seeing a lot of growth. I don’t think my hair is strong enough to withstand regular flat-ironing but using the RevAir twice a month has been a game changer for me! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and HEALTHY.

    I recently cut my hair in a bob and will be a straight hair natural going forward with braids in the summer months. It really just takes way too long for me to do anything with my natural hair so I usually just throw it in a bun and it gets matted. Not to mention the fact that I can never thoroughly wash it due to product buildup.I enjoy the ease of just going to my stylist and having her do all of that and I will not be doing my own hair anymore. Periodt.

    loved the video, after 5 years of being natural I've finally decided to straighten my hair and ever since I've been straightening it twice a year. I do feel that once I make my overall hair goal I'd like to wear it straighten a little bit more often maybe 3 or 4 times a year. ☺

    the slow Mo moments be doing it for me lol, but I will definitely be using your method If you can, can you give a video on how you got your hair to grow. I've been having trouble with my hair growing. I think it might be because I use to much oil in my hair. but at the same time, I don't always want to do my hair all the time, so I've been cutting my hair short then letting it grow back.

I feel you on not wanting to do your hair all the time I’m the same way lol! I think cutting your hair short & letting it grow back can be very beneficial! I can definitely make a video about what has worked for me when it comes to growing out my hair & hopefully it can help. Thank you for tuning in ☺️❤️

    Very happy i found ur page! Everything you said i agree with! I also love the simplicity of ur routine. My hair likes different products (brands) but it only likes a few simple routines.
    I wear a silk press that i rollerset (2-3 weeks) and i don’t straighten out my ends, i leave the curl to protect my ends. I wear mini twists when i need a break (one month) and my ends stay curly bc i don’t flat iron them at all, unless professionally trimming.
