    Wayne Rainey (1) and Luca Cadalora (7) bikes. My preferred Riders, my preferred Team and my preferred Era: 500.

    2 strokes ARE the competitions. 2 strokes for the RIDERS, 4 strokes for the girls

    I used to work at a large Yamaha dealer in the UK when I was 16 and we had one of the same 500's in our shop for our 25th aniversary weekend.
    Its a shame they took off a few bits so it was not able to start! Ohh yes they boss wanted to take it down the street! :) The 2 strokes were the golden era of GP racing. Its not the same anymore.

    This no 7 bike made a life impression on me that will never go away. I hope to reproduce it some day on a Yamaha.

    It took 5 cylinder 1000cc 4 strokes with traction control, advanced suspension and computers to beat these litle 500's. There is NO better, more powerful form of kinetic energy than a 2 stroke. Honda had to "buy" the FIM and the AMA to get their way.

    @Saloei You're right, technology isn't always good for everything either. The new bikes are so computer controlled, that you could put a crash-test dummy on it and the factories could control it like a drone airplane. They are dull, boring to watch and the power curve is reminiscent of a lawnmower. The exciting sounds, the thrill and rush of acceleration and exotic smells are gone forever. Replaced by "Tron" bikes. The worse thing is we as fans have NO say, nor do the little 2 stroke companies.

    @Revanche2strokes Exactly and well put.
    You might guess I want real racing to return and 500 strokers from this era brought us the best racing in the history of the sport. For the past several years its been a snore.

    @Bonenreaker, ergo my point. When facing only a 1/2 size disadvantage, the smokers still... well smoked the 4 strokes. Long live the 2 stroke GP bike, the real champion. Honda et al can say and race whatever they want, but they and anyone with any intelligence knows that if given a chance, the smokers would still rule.

    @bringback500's, you sir a voice of wisdom and common sense. 2 strokes should get a chance to race fairly, yet all of this is happening to the stroker under the guise of being green. When the only green is the green dollar. It's not about the environment (see my F1 comment to mr77gg) as the snowmobile & outboard industries 2 strokes are schooling the 4 strokes and yet this technology is not given a chance to shine where ever brand "h" races. It's pathetic and we are forced to sit still for it.

  • @barthoedemaker
    @barthoedemaker 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Revanche2strokes agree. The evironment freaks got their way to 4 stroke. And also 2 stroke tuning needs greater knowledge.

    @bonebreaker27 the 4 strokes were 990cc's !!!! the 500's were well. 500cc !! how about a 990cc two stroke then ??? yeah, game over. The oil burner would waste the diesel

    2 strokes were definately faster, just not as controlable, anybody saying 4 stroke is faster simply dosent know the mechanics of engines

    @Revanche2strokes what you say about honda is taking over the sport, but
    everyone (sponsors and little co's) is leaving and GP racing will be over soon,
    then honda is destroying itself eventually don't you think?
    yes they sell bikes, but racing against themselves is not a race so the fans will stop watching motogp's so what's your problem? and BTW don't get me wrong i love 500's and 1000's and i ain't no green greenpeace freak! for me, put them together and let them race

    @mr77gg You say it's about respect for the riders? Let me tell you something sobering in regards to the riders, in 20 years of 500cc 2 stroke GP racing, one racer died. In 10 years of 4 strokes, 3 have died. If 2 strokes were inferior they should go away, but to be saddled with so many stupid rules that they cannot overcome them, all in the name of being green, when it's only about money is assanine. BTW, an F1 race pollutes more in 1 week than an entire season of 2 stroke racers ever did.

  • @Revanche2strokes
    @Revanche2strokes 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @mr77gg, wow, you've watched racing for 20 years? Big deal, does this make you an expert? I've raced for over 35 years, so what. This has nothing to do with the riders, they race what they are told to race. It's the stupid factories that are under scrutiny. Brand "h" is killing the sport by forcing rules to accomadate their agenda. KTM, GILERA, Aprilia, Derbi and others fought the stupid rules change but honda's millions won out. Attendence is down and GP racing will soon be gone.

  • @Revanche2strokes
    @Revanche2strokes 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    MotoGP will be gone soon. Attendance is way down, sponsorship money is waning, the small factories who raced have been forced out, by you know who & for those who have stood with the 4 stroke agenda, should be ashamed, even if you are a fan of the 4 stroke, racing should be fair. If this was the case, the fans and small co's would come back. But since it's a monopoly, people see thru it & most fans are done with the disparity. Racing, like life should have someone fighting for the injustice's.

    @Revanche2strokes I just want to say that i liked the 500 2-strokes very much but the same for the 4-strokes 800 or 1000. and I to am against what honda is doing to the sport just look at the starting grid 2011 only 17!, but that doesn't mean that 4-strokes is nothing and 2-strokes is everything! what i meant with more respect is for the riders and the technicians and everyone who eventually makes it possible that we the fans can talk all this bullshit to eachother here on youtube

  • @90MinutenLang020Damsko
    @90MinutenLang020Damsko 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @dalla125 I bet you can't handle a 4-stroke 800, let alone a 1000! (gp bike)
    @Revanche2strokes why do people like you always have to talk in this kind of way?
    like you have any nostalgic feelings as if you would like a rick astley to make his comeback!
    in your opinion the 4-stroke motogp's are shit! these heroes don't deserve this kind
    of comments, not from you and not from anyone else! i've been watching motoGP
    and 500's for around 20 years now and all these guys deserve more respect!

    @Revanche2strokes Ooh and this, who said i am a expert? by just saying that i watched
    it for 20 years? (as a fan) for me it's quite an achievement just to release the clutch and to ride in a straight line! you my friend you clearly have something against honda!
    stop it this is a battle you are losing! so hop on your 50cc 2-stroke moped and forget about it
