Just a little tip: You can easily increase reading of any clamp meter by wrapping more turns of wire thru meter clamp. The more the turns, the more the reading, then you just simply divide reading on meter by number of turns.
That 737 chip is true rms converter.
Reason why non-RMS meter is reading less accurate is that even you are using linear power supply with transformer, the current is far from being pure sinusoidal. Once you rectify voltage, even on secondary of conventional transformer, the input current is no longer sinusoidal. I was wondering why there was no fluke episode last week, glad to see new episode today !

Thank you Tony for sharing this video with us. One thing to check before adjusting any clamp meter is that the "jaws" close completely. They form the core of a transformer and a good magnet connection is important. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Regards, David

Nice episode, looking forward to the next one. And indeed, as another viewer already suggested, to measure more reliably low currents on a clamp meter like that just cut up a cheap extension cord and loop one wire ten times. I have the official line splitter you showed in the photo but I also made two myself with different "end" connectors (C7 and C13) for convenience, and both with 10 turn loop.

Hello Tony I enjoyed your video just out of curiosity the fluke 30 what year did that come out. Which fluke current multimeter would you compare it to today .

I have an old Fluke 30 Clamp Meter like to one in your video. It is not reading voltage correctly even with a fresh battery. Apparently there is not fuse for protection. Do you have any suggestions?
About the fuse, i dont remember, maybe it has. did you check the terminal connections?
@@TonyAlbus If you mean where the leads plug in no not yet. My next step is to open it up and see if there is anything obvious wrong. I'm not an electronics tech so there is only so much I can do. I did change the leads with a pair that does work and changed the battery. Continuity works. My next step is to check resistance, and amps against my fluke multi meter.
