Thank you Tony for another interesting Fluke Friday. I would really like to see an ELP replacement video, I have Scopemeter in need of a new backlight. Regards, David
Nice fluke hat and shirt! I must have replaced EL backlights in about 30 meters and musical keyboards so far this last 2 years - They never last, but at least you get the chance to change the backlight colour whilst you are at it :) Nice Fluke series, very enjoyable!
Tony, I've got a 91 series 2 and the four function keys 1-4 have stopped functioning. I took it apart and examined the keypad membrane for damage, couldn't find any, I also reseated the ribbon connector and it didn't fix the problem. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi, i did not have that problem yes, check the traces with a microscope, or maybe the keypad lost its connectivitie on the pads. some times people try to fix that last thing with a soft graphite pencil
@@TonyAlbus Hi, I bought my Fluke 97 25 years ago, I pay Us$1800 dollars used. 99b maybe 20 years ago, I am an old man. Having that was always a dream for me Best Regards

Thank you David! when i replace it, i will video it in this series.
There's a guy on ebay selling pcb replacements for the membrane keyboard. Recently replaced mine on a 105 series II. Drop in fit, works perfectly now.
Thanks, i will have a look!
Do you have a link to him by any chance?
You should also check those surface-mount electrolytic capacitors. They leak, eat traces, and make the backlight very dim.
Thanks! yes i sa a video about that, thank for the reminder.. will do.

For that price they should supply pants too.
Yes parts are expensive and the meters them self too, even this old and second hand, but it is very well made.
