    I did the same thing, bought 2 pairs of cheap Sony speakers from Walmart.
    The factory front speakers have the metal frame and used a dremel to cut away.
    Great job.

    I tried this last night on 4x6 sony Xplods. It is an awsome idea and worked alot easier than i had expected. An angle grinder cuts it like butter and is the way to go (dremel might work if you have hours of time..). Thx a million for the idea. I can send you a pic of mine if you'd like to see it

    Thanks for the video. Cut mine and installed these Pioneers today.
    Left one stock and one new Pioneer in to test, took more volume for the Pioneer side to start distorting.

    I am thinking about getting new ones for my 01 jeep wrangler they are 250w would i need an amp for them??

      Electric Adaped. No you don't need a amp, unless your car deck is very bad. The 250w rating on the speaker is the maximum amount that they can handle before they blow.

      Well I can't give you a link because I purchased the speakers the old fashion way. Walked into Walmart and saw them reduced in the car audio section but I'm sure they are available on amazon for a decent price
