I enjoyed it very much,i grew up with A.B.B.A (Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad) Btw im from Denmark.. :-) L ya
Whenever I listen to ABBA I'm sure they'll be one of these artists who are going to be forever... If the humanity still exists in 100 years or more, they'll know their songs. they're timeless.
Welcome to Abba...! In no particular order you should listen to: Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Take a Chance on Me", "Mamma Mia", "Lay All Your Love on Me", "Super Trouper", "The Winner Takes It All" or any of their other hits, which made up the soundtrack of my early youth. This band ruled the scene during the 70's and early 80's with songs ranging from run-of-the-mill lovesongs to tearjerking break-up songs. Each and every one of them a hit, nonetheless, and instant classics.
The piano and string hits in this are outstanding. These instruments are rarely used like percussion but here they are. It's what makes this song very unique in arrangement. Elton John and Lindsay Stirling use their piano and violin this way too and when they do harmony it is lovely like this also.
Nice reaction! I've loved Abba from 1974. They made wonderful music videos with fantastic costumes that were very “of their time” when few other musicians were doing it. Four good-looking, seemingly kindhearted Swedes - what’s not to love? And no scandals, no addiction, no drama, no one’s secretly a terrible person. Their relationships ran their courses, yet they remained consummate professionals and friends. I think that’s extraordinarily difficult to pull off, which to me is quite a testament to their characters.
As a man of that generation enjoyed that music when it came out it always hits me when I listen to Abba. Never fails. They where great. Every song of Ulvaeus/Andersson who wrote the music for their group is a piece of highly elaborated popular music as an artform. And it is also very enjoyable to watch your emotional reactions. You´re young, vibrant, highly likable and so beautiful therefore I make the educated guess that everybody in your surroundings has to be a lucky human beeing.
Music we had dance to back in the 70s was absolutely fantastic. All the different styles of music to choose from was an absolute blessing. From Folk to funk, Motown to disco, Southern rock to hard rock, The British invasion to bands from Canada it was unbelievable.
This song is such a rush of good feelings, so I'm glad you were able to enjoy it as much as you did (minus the frustration of all the blocking! I've heard ABBA is VERY protective of their music.) Anyway, I recommend if you want to see a modern dancing queen from that part of the world, check out Robyn---I think her song "Dancing on My Own" is probably her best tune, but I am impartial to "Dancehall Queen," it's so lively and infectious.
This was ABBA apex of the singing has a group, the disco era was coming to its peak and ABBA was on their way down, While on the Australia Tour a crack had formed, even low it never got any bigger until after this song, it was there and started to show in the lyrics of the songs and that crack started to grow the song "Winner Takes It All" says it all. Still not bad for a group that was only formed to do the one off song for the Eurovision Song Contest and winning it with a song called "Waterloo" I was around 7000 miles away in the Atlantic when I heard this song, BBC Worldwide Service covered the Eurovision Song Contest, way back in 1974

Cool reaction to such an amazing song! You are a stunning beauty with a warm heart and an open mind! Lovely reaction! ABBA has PLENTY great pop songs, best pop band ever, after The Beatles.
ABBA in the 70's and early 80's were possibly the biggest band on Earth, along with Led Zepplin. Their 11 year catalog of songs, all written by Benny and Bjorn is almost faultless. ABBA stands for their names - Agneta, Benny, Bjorn and Anna-Frid (usually called Frida). Mamma Mia, Waterloo, One of Us, Money Money Money, Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie, Thank You For the Music, SOS, Summer Night City, ..............................

There is one word to describe this song and that is "Joyous".
they sound like angels descending from the clouds with a love bomb
