  • For Omari John, a refugee living in Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp, keeping the lights on at his barbershop means more business. This has been possible with the expansion of Renewvia Energy’s solar powered mini-grid in the Kalobeyei area. With funding from IFC’s Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund (KKCF), Renewvia Energy has been able to expand its solar mini-grid to bring electricity access to over 436 businesses and 2,300 households in the area. This includes helping to keep the lights on at Omari’s Public Kinyozi Class Haircuts barbershop.
