  • Hi, I’m Jack and I’m back. 😊
In this video I detail the steps we I took to create our carbon fiber vents.
The vent slats and cross braces are made from black craft foam board sandwiched between a single layer of carbon fiber on each side. That was then cut to shape for each vent.
Several attempts at the cross braces were made from cardboard before the rough shape and vent angles were determined. Then those cross braces were cut from the sandwiched carbon fiber panels.
Of course we didn’t like the results so the cross braces were remade to increase the vent angles.
The exposed foam edges were undercut with a hot knife foam cutter. Then that was filled with custom lightweight black tinted epoxy filler.
The rims around the vents are duplicates of the vent openings cut down and epoxied back together to drop down in the openings.
The rims are being glued in place with the custom lightweight black tinted epoxy filler.
Next step will be to glue the vents and cross braces together with the same filler.
Then everything will be coated with clear gloss for UV protection.

And now you can even give me stars, whatever the heck that is. 😊
    And remember…
If you don’t like what we’re doing, you don’t know Jack!
