$8000-9000 of cost to you over 4 years (about $180 per month plus insurance, gas and any oil changes) is pretty excellent. Well done.

We sold our Boxster to Caravana. Similar story...car was paid off and in excellent condition, so they matched their initial quote and it was very painless. We had them come to us as we don't have a "vending machine" anywhere close by. I'm sure I could have gotten even more selling it ourselves, but I still got more than I paid for it and, man...there's genuine value in being so easy.

I sold a car through Carvana. They came to my house. Gave a quick check of the vehicle. They had a check ready for me. Good Price. I had two keys and the Title paper. Very pleased how the process went.

How long before you are able to use the check they give you like do you have to wait for the check to clear or can you use that on a down payment on a new car immediately?

I sold my 2022 Venza to Carvana and they gave me what I paid a year ago. It was easy and I’d do it again. They offered $4k more than CarMax offered.
I would sell to Carvana but not buy. Their prices are high

I really wish more people sold their cars private party. I've had nothing but good experiences and made more than if I were to trade them in. I will however say that the Carvana experience is one of the best because you don't have to deal with some A-Hole at a dealership continuing to find flaws and reduce the prices.

No one wants strangers coming to their home, talking down about they own and acting like experts. People just want money for what they own and not a 45 mins conversation with a tire kicker…

Traded my 2021 Prius Prime in for a Kona EV last summer, they gave me significantly more than I paid for the Prius new despite having nearly 40K miles on it (the Kona was definitely overpriced so it balanced out). They hardly even looked at my car before I drove the Kona away, overall a pretty smooth process. Second car I've purchased from Carvana (first was a Volt in 2018), it's not bad as long as you avoid their financing and understand the cars are overpriced for the convenience factor much like Carmax.

Keep us posted on whether the check bounces...
All joking aside, that's a surprising result after 4 years to retain so much value. That shows that the used market, despite seeing some recent decreases, is still very robust.

I've heard a lot of bad press about them lately. I still heavily sus their practices, but as long as that check clears the bank, then take the money to a more trusted source for your next purchase.

I sold my 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer (w/28,000 miles on the odometer) to Carvana in April of 2023. KBB offered me $5,000 as did my local Mitsubishi dealership. I thought that was the best I was going to do on a 10-year-old Plain Jane car. I gave Carvana a shot and they came back with an offer of $10.746!! I was shocked to say the least but of course I decided to go with that offer. I was "long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" nervous right up to the point where the rep who drove the Carvana truck to pick up the car (yes, they really DO show up with the Carvana truck) took me to the bank to deposit the check. I watched a video on TH-cam warning that the check was going to "bounce", so it wasn't until the following morning when I checked my bank account and lo and behold, the account was $10,546 fatter! They charged $200.00 for the cost to haul it away but I couldn't have been happier! Carvan is the way to go!! 110% of the time!

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Same situation for my 2013 Nissan Rogue. KBB was laughable but I see now bc it was a dealer trade in price and it appears Carvana gives a private value.

I bought my used Prius from Carvana in 2020 when I moved back to the USA. It was great for me because I was able to use a VPN to do most of the work buying the car before I even flew back here. My car was exactly as it was described. I got my license plates about 2 weeks after purchase. I had no problems. I was blown away with how easy it was. The best experience buying a car in my life. Now it is about 2.5 years later, and I still love my Prius. I did have to replace the 12V battery and the tires, but no other problems. After all the other bad stories about Carvana, I feel fortunate.

    All depending on your budget

  • @onakl

Carvana sent my plate to the wrong address, I spend couple days calling FedEx and Carvana customer care after my temp tag expired just to find out my plate was sitting in my neighbor’s mailbox for a month. They also registered my car in the wrong county. I even corrected them while picking up my car that the county wasn’t correct, they still made the mistake.

3 experiences all good no issues now keep in mind the mileage of cars bought and sold were low so no extensive work needed to be done. Recently purchased and lc 500 1 owner. Couldn’t be happier that said I did put aside 3k for paint work etc

Seems like people have had good selling experiences through them in the comments section. I was trying to buy a car in 2021 and they, hands down, had the most ridiculously high prices out there. And a no haggle policy. Needless to say I bought a used car elsewhere.

I enjoyed my first purchased. Dec 2019 ford cmax 2017. Today I am getting my new vehicle from them. Price seem good car only has less that 43000 miles on it and it's 2014 Cadillac XTS. Will let ya know how things ok. I did buy a warranty with a third party instead of the one offered just in case it may be useless.😢 fingers crossed all goes well.

Had an '18 Subaru Impreza Premium lease end in 2021. Clean title and minor exterior scratch.
Carvana valued the car $5,000 over what I owed on it if I chose to buy it from the dealer. So, they came to my address in IL, free at the time, locked the car and gave me a check for $5,000. A few hours later the car was towed by Carvana and my check cleared. They handled the dealership purchase and all that other stuff on their own.
Similar story in 2022 with a '22 Forester (leased in '21) but dropped it off at Carmax. Essentially, got paid $3,500 to drive the car for 6 months - I was scouting dealerships and haggling for a while before getting this car though.
