    I just bought a Kia Sorento from Carvana. I was VERY skeptical but my wife talked me into giving them a try. They gave me over $4000 more for my trade than the local dealers or Carmax. I got the new car from Carvana and took it to a mechanic while still under the 7 day money back guarantee. I couldn't get to the dealer so paid for a local garage to look it over. A factory trained Toyota mechanic went through it top to bottom. Could not find any issues. All fluids were new, good brakes, new tires. Aside from the few chips in the paint that were noted prior to purchase and a couple scuffs on the interior that weren't it is a good car.

    Scotty,
    This video raises an interesting question an/or idea in my head, maybe talk to this guy, and other contacts, to find which extended warranty companies, and even which type warranty that they offer, actually are worth the cost, if you do what the owner of this Jeep has done, and make a video of what you’ve found to pass along that information, as from my own experiences, few of these repairs, if any, would likely be covered by most used car warranties, original or extended

      I know Carvana uses silver rock as the warranty. when i bought my car they offered two types of coverage. A 3 year or 5 year up to 100,000 miles. if the car was close to 100,000 miles i believe they wont offer that extended warranty but im not 100 percent on that last part since mine had 41000 on the odometer when i bought it.

  • @xadam2dudex
    @xadam2dudex 2 ปีที่แล้ว +78

    I highly doubt if half of those repairs were even needed the dealership just saw a sucker and just did everything they could think of .. You can imagine how much they charged for the tires about double what you would pay in a retail tire shop .. Carvana wished they never sold him that Jeep .. He really lucked out when Carvana paid that repair bill .. That really surprises me since most of these warranties aren't worth the pepper they are written on

    • @trvman1
      @trvman1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yep, they will find ways to deny the repair request. Just SAVE the money and have it when you need a repair. I have 2 vehicles and have $2,500 saved for repairs. It would cost me 10 times that for those scam warranties because if you don't have problems, you are just throwing your money away and most likely unless it is something not too costly, they will deny the repair.

      @@joepierson3859 I was thinking the exact same thing. Even a new car warranty isn't going to cover brakes unless they had maybe less then 5,000 miles and no one covers tires. Plus, I think they would have said bring it back and then taken it to another repair place for a 2nd opinion.

You have to do this in 7 days so you can swap it or return it. Just got my 3rd Carvana car yesterday. Passed the inspection with flying colors and had brand new tires. The very 1st car I got from them was rusted out on the bottom so I swapped. The next 3 have been cherry.

I was thinking of buying a mazda 5 mpv minivan and would probably do the same as the guy in the video becuase spending around 15k-20k for a 2014-17 vehicle is scary and i couldnt afford out of pocket repairs right after purchase. When buying any 'extended warranty', always read the fine, fine print in the agreement. Sometimes just doing the required maintenance will avoid things breaking down. But doing that DIY instead of taking the vehicle to an "approved" shop on their list will void the warranty. Often the maintenance costs over time at an "approved" shop will cost several times the price of the 'extended' warranty. Buyer beware. [Wink.] JMO.

    Not gonna lie, that is actually a pretty good warranty, even though you're obviously on your own if anything goes wrong after it expires. Getting most companies to actually honor warranties can be a hassle too. Carvana never really has any vehicles that interest though, and they do seem to sell way above a vehicles actual book value, or basically like Scotty says. It's a tough sell for me considering how fast a vehicle's value quickly depreciates normally. Maybe the free initial repair work kind of makes up for it, but I really don't know. 🤔

    Have to tip my hat to Toyota look at how the fuel economy jumped on the latest Camry I drove one and got 49.6 in 8th gear 70mph cruise. On Ohio’s and West Virginia’s and Kentucky’s hills.

    I bought a 2015 Toyota Highlander from Carvana. Took it to a Toyota dealership and they said that the typical timing chain cover was leaking and it would take 9 days to complete (they were backlogged with cars) and $2300 to fix. I called Carvana the next day and told them to take the car back and they set up an appointment for their tow truck to take it away without question. This was the 3rd time I purchased from them and the first time I didn't end up buying the vehicle. They really do stand by their warranty and if you take it to your own shop they only charge $50 deductible (vs free at a Pep Boys). Definitely worth $50 deductible to have Toyota replace parts after the warranty was over within that 100 days.

    It used to be the Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep dealers were separate dealerships, but after the 2009 bankruptcy, they merged the brands into one dealership. So, Chrysler left the Nissan dealer and Jeep dealer across the street from Honda dealer all merged together at the Dodge dealer to become the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram dealer. That building was originally the Saturn dealer

    I've bought 2 vehicles from carvana, I check the carfax. Look for 1 owner cars that have a good maintenance record, last one went to the dealership every 5k miles for oil changes and all recommended maintenance. Car was near mint condition only a tiny paint chip on hood.

    I too am one of those guys that like Chrysler products, Jeeps in particular. I always buy the Chrysler Gold Plan Warranty that I can use at any dealership in the United States and Canada. I have got more out of the warranty than I have put in and in the meantime, got new parts in my vehicle.
