Rod&Rifle Short Film Competition Finalist 2019 - A Chase and Gather in the Kaimanawas

I take a couple of mates in to the Kaimanawas (Kaipo catchment) to chase some Sika and Rainbow trout. Neither have shot a Sika before after many years of trying. With no recent rain and warm dry winds the cornflakes underfoot were like walking around on crunchy bars all day. With the fly rods packed we also had a crack at the wily rainbows and also managed to nab another tasty treat from the river. With beautiful clear conditions we all shared some great yarns and stories around the campfire each night with a dram or two of port to enhance the story telling and tales.
