Their consistency is insane
See, Converge is a perfect example of a band that evolved their sound without selling out. Their newer stuff is a sonic departure from the Jane Doe sound that made them famous, it's more atmospheric. But they still sound fuckin amazing. Their sound developed without sounding trite or like a shell of their past albums.

I really wish to see these guys someday. Incredible combination of talent, energy, aggression. So many emotions while listeting and watching them. Long live Converge - one of the best bands ever.

He sounds great on their records. I wish he'd pronounce words live. Also, I suppose he skips on most lines because his voice would give out. A shame.
Man I think you hipsters need to stop over-analyzing this band. Cool that you guys like this music but they're not the Ariel Pink (Or whatever) of Hardcore. While they've been highly influential in the scene; they're not even unique in the sense that a lot of bands have take inspiration from their sound. Listen to The Chariot or Every Time I Die for instance.

Wasn't really trying, or trolling. You're commenting negatively on a Converge video, why waste your time? If you don't like the band, so be it, but why put your opinion out there? Take your shitty taste and attitude somewhere else.
They're an acquired taste. They even state in themselves. Converge is actually one of the most looked up to band in hardcore. You don't see a lot of bands that are doing what they are doing, for as long as they have been. There will come a time when you get tired of listening to break downs and two steps and you want something more mature. That's when you pick up a Converge album.
Jonathan Mierisch I can completely understand and respect that. At 33, I barely listen to hardcore anymore, and I can respect the hell out of Converge's staying power. But even in my heyday in the 90's, I just couldn't get into them, and still don't see the attraction. That's me though. To each their own!
