I saw Majical Cloudz open in support of Grizzly Bear in Florida last week, and they put on a truly captivating show. The pure earnestness from both performers was endearing and the frontman's voice was surprisingly powerful. I'm interested to see how their recorded music sounds in comparison to their live show.

Its refreshing to see performers that are more connected with their audience than their gear/guitars.

Saw them in January opening for The Soft Moon and they were the first one on my list for a coworker who went to SXSW asking for tips. He enjoyed them but disagreed with me saying they are intense live. Sure, by looking at the headcount and instruments, it is more like minimal and he had his point arguing it is a bit boring. But emotionally, they are the most intense band I've seen in a while.

I agree, Saw the same show in DC with Soft Moon. These guys blew me away, I was emotionally drained, Didn't really care for Soft Moon at all by the time they came on. These guys were unforgettable!

I Thumb-Up'ed your insightful comment to hopefully counteract the Thumb's Down on this video.

Fucking awesome sound. Their act reminds me of a mixture between Daughn Gibson and John Maus.

i would definitely agree. my friend and i were talking the other day about the progression into minimalism for the new sound that music will bring in the coming years. culminating with dubstep, the electronic music age has just blown its top, its gotten to be too much. the logical progression would be something still based on new technologies, but stepping away from this stupid fascination with electronic music where you just go apeshit and add as much as you can to it, just because you can.
