I'm looking at a 2018 explorer sport, I got to test drive it and man o man do I want it so bad, pulling onto the highway i didn't realize I was doing 85 😊
Picked up an 18 Explorer Sport with 401A pkg. Thing is a blast of a daily driver! Highly recommend getting one. Like some others said both the sport and the Platinum come with 3.5 Ecoboost paired to AWD drivetrain.
A couple of my family members just bought one of these Sport models and have had a few issues with it since new. They just recently discovered that the rubber moulding is smashed in on one side, the daytime running lights don't shut off despite given the option to disable them, the front camera doesn't work, and the radio has had issues as well. Shouldn't have this many issues to worry about right out the door especially given the price of the vehicle.
Your right you should not have that many issue's from the get go. that really seems kind of odd. I've been filming these Explorers for over 10 years now and most of them are in pretty good shape. I personally like the 2018 Explorer. Its a great vehicle for a family, but again that's alot of issues you mentioned.
It's a nice vehicle no doubt! I heard that a designer from Land Rover had a heavy influence on this generation of the Explorer and you can definitely tell just by looking at it. The air conditioned and heated seats are very comfortable, the ride and handling are great, along with the sound quality and the Sync 3 system is much better when compared to My Ford Touch. In any case, the vehicle will be going back to the dealer to have these issues looked at. I'm sure they'll be able to fix whatever is going on. At this point, I'm going to assume that the issues are possibly electrically related in nature, but I'm not quite sure.
@@joshm.9308 out of curiosity is your issues with the molding on the driver side back? Also, the light thing is something that I have noticed in those as well. I messed with one quite a bit to turn off those lights and had no luck. They really mess you up at a drive-in movie.
It's sold and being delivered? I'd be pissed if I knew the vehicle I bought was being used like that after I purchased it. That dealership is severely lacking in morals. This is why actual mileage is documented on the bill of sale. A part from a PDI there should be mileage put on a vehicle after it has been purchased.
Drove a Sport once.... I would never say something has too much power, but between this and the old Volvo C70 with high pressure Turbo.... Those were two cars that had Supreme Power.
I have a fully loaded 2015 sport and the power is surprising. Not taking it above 60 😄? If you're the only one on the road and a professional driver you profess to be, you will not wreck it. This vehicle is so stable at all speeds that you'd be alright. I have the same motor with the TT's and same horsepower but the manual, the dealership and gas door markings all say REGULAR unleaded and not premium gas. Also my front grill is much more attractive/aggressive looking than the 2018. One big complaint is the small tachometer style and lack of a boost gage. I could add these on but think Ford should have put more into the style of the dash to represent what a beast and stable vehicle this is. 🐼
This car does not need premium gas it take regular but twin turbo means more maintenance cost later something to keep in mind love the car the best all around SUV in America
Watched a video of a Ford Raptor, which basically has the same engine, just tuned differently, get a dyno test with Reg gas compared to Premium and it gained 20 hp plus a quicker 0-60 time.
My guess is that this guy is the porter at the dealership. He was told to clean up the car for delivery and decided to go for a joy ride. At the end he pulls into the wash bay. Plus he doesn’t know a lot about cars.
Thanks Robert! Please hit that Subscribe button! I have some really fun videos coming out soon. Been filming a new video series that we're sampling for a small tv series.
Man!!! I just got me the new Traverse Rs, 2.0LT 4-cylinder, single Turbo, granted I paid 44,000(financing included). Its bigger inside, and what not but i should have gone with the explorer even at 47,0000. &$@%*** my self. Better yet I should have waited for 2020 sports.
Well maybe next time you can switch up to the Ford Explorer. I hope you enjoy your Chevy Traverse while you own it! The Traverse is still a great looking and nice car tho.
What a disappointing review he knows so little about the car, shows very little about the feature. (Spending more time talking about the shiny plastic and led light) also agree that once a car is sold it shouldnt be driven. (How do you not know the platinum has the same motor)

This truck really shines when you put it in Sport mode, get the RPM's up and use the manual shifter. Pretty impressive for a SUV!!!!
I've had my 2014 sport for three years now. You have to do a 40 to 100 pull. That's where it shines.
You're absolutely right.
Has it been reliable?

Platinum comes with the 3.5L Twin Turbo as well
Tony331 I thought that was a pretty glaring mistake.
I was thinking that...as well....

Totally agree- the dealership sucks for letting this take place.
