      @@markbehr88not overpriced these days. From what you were saying it has rust in one of the usual spots. XFs these days aren’t the cheap Falcons they used to be. Repair the rust, get it roadworthy and register it and it’d be a $12,000 ute easily. It looks like it wouldn’t need much work put into it to get there either. The days of XF utes in that nick being $2000 are long gone, unfortunately. I had an XG that was written off in 2015 (Camry driver who decided to reverse without looking backed into the side of it) which I paid $4000 for in 2011. Would be $15,000 all day now. In between COVID lockdowns while I was still living in Ballarat I went and looked at a base model XF with 200 and three on the tree with no rego, worse overall nick than the one in the video but no real rust. Asking price for that was $3500, which at the time wasn’t worth it, but would get it easily now. Here in WA most of the ones going for under $5000 are only good for spares. In 2009 I bought a mint VH Commodore Vacationer wagon for $1300. Value of that would be $20,000 now with some light mechanical work done to it. Anything Aussie made these days, especially once they’re over 25 years old (or have a HSV, Tickford or FPV badge) and in reasonably good nick, command a premium.

      @@markbehr88 when you come across a lot of Roos if you drive at night a lot, definitely. Only a fairly light alloy bar, but means you don’t need to stiffen up the front end to accommodate it. Mine weighed about the same as the original bumper including brackets. Mine had a black sticker on the driver’s side of the bar with the details of the engineering company that made it. Going on the numberplate, that XF ute looks like it's either on gas from new or has had a gas conversion done on it. Looks a pretty clean vehicle. Good luck with the F250.

      @ayrproductions 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      1994-on numberplate, and that one’s pre-1992 going by the lack of side indicators in the guards. Probably put on gas before it received those plates though since it was using the old stickers and not the badges that are required now. Betting the black “LP Gas” lettering on them has worn off now though. They always did.

    • @markbehr88

      Thanks. The mechanical aspect is almost there. I have new 16.5” tyres (weird old size) on their way. Then I will take it from Ray and start the cosmetics. Rust repairs etc. Luckily there are many reproduction sheet metal parts available. I don’t want a full resto. More a sympathetic one. The engine has all been done, suspension, drive shaft etc. I also have new bed strips on their way and will have to cut new wood for the tray. Still plenty more to go in amongst all my other projects. Variety is the spice of life they say 😀👍
