- adding the eachine 5.8ghz transmitter to the x8g quad with the g2d gimbal and the xiaomi yi cam.
it is the limit of this quad as all three components were powered with the same stock battery.

Nice place to fly those drones there.... all jungle, bushes, trenches and trees here.
Anyway, flew the HG, WiFi off on the YiCam, it just couldn't sustain flight and came down hard landing.
I just flew, played around with 5C after that. Superb fun little quad that one.

Nope, thank God, it didn't break. Good thing it is as durable as the little fun X5C.
Anyway, I flew again today. New place. Using its original HD cam. It flew just fine... as agile as the X5C.
You are probably right on YiCam's WiFi messing up with the controller transmission signal. And also probably it could not handle much weight to hold altitude.
Its cam is only 59g while the YiCam I used with the extender is 161g.
I didn't bring the YiCam to that new flying place... perhaps another day will try again with the YiCam.

I was looking for this setup FPV + Gimbal on X8c. And it seems too heavy. Bad news... So i decided to buy only FPV transmitter with extra battery. And use AniJello grab for Xiaomi. Thanks

The limits have been reached on this quad with the stock battery and perhaps a stronger battery may help but those motors......
Great video, thank you. I do have a question if anyone can answer it. Looking at the way this is wired I see the camera is wired for FPV, but can it shoot video or takes pics at the same time as you are flying FPV?
also maybe a smaller battery to power the gimbal alone?
I did try it but adds too much weight for this quad.

yes, the g2d gimbal has a cut out just to do that :)
If you hid the video transmitter and got a better battery this would be very practical as an arial filming drone

Nice Mod, Question: Will it works If we take out and soldered Video out signal cable from yicam to stock x8 board to have video fpv stream from syma app (instead of soldering them to 5.8g FPV transmitter ) ?
the x8 board does not have a built in transmitter.

Waow! i just bought a syma X8G and looking to get a long range fpv kit with a cheap separate camera as i'd like to use syma video footage. what would you recommend? I'm modding the transmitter antenna for 300 to 400 meters. Thanks
well it does have terrific range but it does not have a fail safe system where if it goes out of range, it will travel for a distance before coming down. This quad is best to get footage close by like 200 meters to be safe.

Welcome :) you may want to practice what you can with this quad and dont fly over water for too long of a time either. one of my motors went bad with the gimbal and camera attached and came down in a hurry. was lucky to save it and the gimbal and cam. every now and then, one of the motors will go bad. it will also come down in a hurry if the battery power starts to get weak. check my other video with the transmitter for this quad. you can go a little further in the beginning of your session like the first three minutes or so but keep it above grass after that and keep it close.
one of the better options after this quad is the cheerson cx20. it has fail safe return gps and altitude hold and such.
May i know if my syma x8g's controller is broken, can i just purchase any similar syma controller which is compatible to control the drone in the description? Will i need to do anything about it or it can simply connects to the drone. Would really appreciate it if you let me know. Thank you

beautiful video great flying, I have a few x8 quad's 2 x8c's and 2 x8g's with no camera's. but i started out cutting off all the banana connector's and swapping them out with jst battery connectors (male for the battery and female for the quad's) in and attempt to make all my power source's more compatible with other 7 volt quad's like the x6 tarantula, but now I have a problem with LOW VOLTAGE Warnings very early in most of my flights, do they make any jst adapter's with a thicker gauge wire so I wont loose juice so fast? or is it my replacement battery's could be sub-standard and just not holding the charge? also I seam to have range issues with my x8c controller, I soldered on an 5db antenna that I took off of my first x8c controller that got damaged, but it seams it is not doing as well on the second controller as it did on the first.. I have a never before used x8c controller that I am temped to try to mod all over again from scratch because I am sure I am getting pre-mature signal loss. It seams my x8's also have this way of blinking it's lights when ever I start to go out of range (80-90) meter's and then the lights go back to solid once I bring it in closer. I am wondering is that my imagination or is that a characteristic that syma has built in by default?
oh wow. maybe the caliber of the wires have something to do with it. also, I think the transmitters are not all the same between the models of the x8
agreed, I think the early line of x8c controller was known for getting close to 300 meters without any mods or antenna upgrades, l finally found antenna wire and and connectors that are thick enough for me to splice and work with, I also found antenna wire that comes pre sliced and tinned on the end so there is no fumbling trying to separate the outer ground shield from the center antenna mass, so I owe to myself to try another controller that came with my orange x8c...

Hi RC Escape.. For FPV You do not use the Camera's Wi-Fi but the transmitter connected to Micro USB port of the camera.. Right..? Thanks

What stock fpv kit? I use this setup on many different quads since it is mounted with a velcro strap it is even easier.

This gimbal self calibrates itself :)

this set up is incapable...
you can put a piece of foam or equivalent to physically tilt the camera so the props dont show as much.

I believe that the jst plug that comes with the g2d is a female, so a male should work :)
Dude when you added jst to flight battery was it fully charged or was itbflat i need todo the same any advise please
You know....I do not recall that if it was fully charged or not but I am pretty sure it was fully charged.

Is your action cam an FPV camera?
I have it connected to a transmitter via video out cable :)
But is your action camera made for the FPV?
All of these action camera has a video out via a micro usb connector and you can use it for the fpv camera source by connecting it to a transmitter :) It is not made for FPV but can be used as one.
