    Thank you, Tara. I've been sober and clean since September of 2018, one month before my 60th birthday, after 45 years of alcoholism, enough of it "functional", that I am able to collect social security, but with constant misery for the entire time.
    Starting with AA, then turning to Zen Buddhism for my spiritual health, I'm much less well off financially, and the happiest I have ever been.
    Between the videos of Thich Nhat Hahn, Pema Chodrun...and you....I am able to live my elder days with;Peace Love Kindness Respect, the more you give the more you get. Start with yourself because you deserve it 🙏💖🙏😉

      What a blessing that you have found this emotional serenity. I feel grateful that I was driven to find a way to begin healing after a lifetime of trauma, OCOA damage and all of the stuff that life throws our way. The practice of mindfulness and meditation just makes my recovery process whole. Namaste, dear one.

    As I involve in this meditation there is a young man with his faithful and protective dog camping/homeless in the woods a mere 1000-+ feet from my window and it is 8 degrees tonight....and there are many second and third homes sitting vacant~~~Yes, my heart breaks with sorrow and depression~ 😔🙏🏼

      I grieve to read your comment. I now care for the dog of the homeless woman that died 1000 feet from my window. The second homes and the governor's wineries not 1000 more feet from my front door. We are a broken world.

      Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!

    So grateful that this addresses how complex depression is, that social inequality contributes to it so much, and that it needs a multi-faceted approach, while giving us practical examples of how we can help ourselves. Thank you Tara.

    I really like the Freudian approach to depression: the disconnection with the present and the desperate will to go back to previous state/situation or an imaginary/idealized one. Your book "Radical Acceptance" is the book I always tell my patients to read. :)

    Psilocybe cyanescens, collectible during our current rainy season, changed my mind to a positive outlook whereby I enjoy and appreciate every day. BTW when I inquired with my therapist about participating in entheogenic trips, she replied “I’m completely against taking short cuts to therapy.” Fortunately I dumped her real fast.

    I was hopeful listening until you said ungrieved loss causes depression. That's BS. I've been crying and lying in bed for a year over my daughter's death. I've tried all day every day to meditate. The meditatative state never comes

      Get a support group for your loss do not expect her to heal grief peace.

    • @taylorkurz-kirtangopal3249
      @taylorkurz-kirtangopal3249 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am sorry for your loss. What she said isn’t BS-you are in the middle of the grief process, and grief takes as long as it needs to and changes form and creeps up in different ways. I wouldn’t expect you to heal this grief over her death in only a year, be patient with yourself. Sometimes, lying in bed with depression for a year IS one of the many ways we attempt to move through grief. I know you made this comment months ago, and you may never see this comment, but I hold your process in my heart and I can relate to your experience. I haven’t been the same since my loved one passed 4 years ago. God bless your healing process.

      I see people talk about this so much but no one EVER mentions where they source them. Like I would love to try it for my depression but with every single person gatekeeping it seems impossible to get ahold of them.
