- We found this yard recently and thought for sure no one lives there by the looks of it. Turns out after a conversation with the guys who mows next store there is a man who actually lives here. The guy next store almost didn't believe us when we said we mow for free and when the owner came to the door he kept asking us “are you sure there is no charge” and was just as shocked as the other guy to find out that we don’t charge. Anyway, we are going to start today by cleaning up the trash that has been thrown into the yard, we will then get these edges trimmed nicely and work our way to the bushes and the lawn. This one really turned out great so make sure you stick to the end to see the before and after pictures. Our whole block takes care of our resident "lonely old lady." She always has someone to help her with mowing, plowing snow, small repairs. It is really uplifting to see.
I will be 69 next month and my mom is 95 I try to do the upkeep of mine and her yards. It is difficult because I am not in the best health but I do it. Thank you to this man and sons for helping people that need it.
Your "resident lonely old lady" is VERY lucky!! I'm a "Long-COVID" survivor, nearing 80, who lives alone. I KNOW how valuable your gift is!! I have a neighbor who lives one street away, but helps me get groceries every few weeks. Another, who lives next door, gripes incessantly about my yard, porch &/or car. The latter hounds me about not washing my car often enough to suit her, but she's detached my hose from the spigot & moved it to the far side of my property (beyond my scope of mobility). She also gripes that I have a box on my porch w/a rotation of canned goods as an extended pantry & maybe 2-4 bottles of Coke alongside it because so many trips into my house after grocery shopping wear me out. I simply have to concentrate on getting refrigerated items inside & put away. When I'm able to pick up fallen tree limbs or branches & drag them to the curb for pickup, I find she moves them back from the roadway, often up into the middle of my yard, too far from the curb for the City to pick up, & she moves my trash can 10-15 feet further away from my limit of walking or puts it directly behind my car, so I can't come or go!!
The 1st neighbor has NO IDEA, but I've put her in my WILL; the 2nd neighbor, I trust GOD will reward accordingly!!

I am a senior. I struggle so much with my lawn, but get it done. Sometimes, it takes me 3+ days. It's sad to get old. May the Lord bless this father -son team.

I can't get a neighbor to drive me 2 blocks up the hill to the little store (can't walk it anymore) without them expecting something in return...even if they were headed that way already. I’m so happy to see someone doing for free a job worth $100+ just to help someone out who it would take days to do. The lawn guy is certainly putting a smile on the homeowner’s face! It's nice to see but they are clearly doing it for content and publicity. I guess its a win win though. They make money and gain publicity while some one in need gets something for free. "kindness content" is getting annoying though.

I am a woman soon to be 75 and not in the best health. It's so hard to find anyone to mow my lawn. The cheapest I found is $50 a wk so I just have him mow twice a month. I feel fortunate to get that help. You're doing a spectacular thing helping people in need. The best to you and your family.

I commend you dad for being an example to your sons of loving your neighbor. I was so touched because I’m 62 years young and I was in a 5 bedroom corner house with a big front and backyard and I had to do it alone or pay someone when I could afford to. It’s not an easy job. As I was watching I’m waiting and asking myself is anyone going to bring them something to drink. If I was the neighbor next door, down the street I would stop and ask…that’s just me, but good neighbors are few and far between. You and your sons be blessed a hundredfold

I questioned my husband when he watched this. He was a lawn worker thru college n answered me..."It' amazing how God works in so many ways. Look at that huge property. His kids are helping too. LOOK!!" I sat down w him on the couch n realized how magnificent this is - for everybody involved. @peterpiper487 •Yes my Mum did she died same age 2021 she was doing the massive garden on a river the day before my Dad was older and really unwell we muddled through for another year now I am resident (On crutches broken back Pelvis that’s had a fixation I am lucky yes I know to be resident but sadly you inherit something beautiful,it’s a house the people we love are not in it also we still have zero probate -I got trapped nerves in my back and neck I think from doing the lawn last year although it costs I am paying I can’t bare to look out and see the Garden my Mum’s pride and joy especially as a river runs along the side but I am downsizing I need something far smaller far nearer to my family a place that’s a home not a house that’s to large..I am 47 Years old and unfortunately a bad accident has taken my ability to keep everything spotless

I’m 50 yrs old and I’m from Arizona and have never mowed a lawn in my life, my husband passed away and I had no one to mow my lawn and didn’t have the money to do it, we live on SSI ($783/mo). I had to give something that valued over $500 to my nephew to get him to mow it just for a month. You guys are awesome. Keep it up!

It was good to see that parents are teaching their children to be active members of their community, and in such a way that they also are learning a "trade". My girls were volunteers at the local hospital and at a facility for abused/neglected children back in the 60s. Keep up the good work!

yeah. They got consent to work on the lawn with a verbal agreement that it is all free. All the extra work likely seemed too good to be true. They went far beyond merely cutting his lawn. It likely looked more like a scam than something genuinely gratis. If they let him know that they also record it for youtube and get a little income through that, he'd likely be less skeptical. I'm sure the millions of views on this video translated to far more than the $100 or so they could get from 1 customer for this type of job.

Even though the gentleman didn't respond to your knocks after the transformation, I am sure that he is grateful in his own way.
I just assume that a sick or somewhat feeble old man, he likely was asleep and had no idea they knocked. But for sure, when he discovered the incredible transformation and attention to detail, he must have been blown away at the work. And even moreso at the incredible kindness of these fine men. (Because those boys are for real already fine Men!)

These are Men after my own heart. I've always been the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off my back and my last dollar if you needed it. I have tried to instill that compassion in my children and grandchildren, but this world makes the draw their "antenna" in and keep themselves safe. This would be such a beautiful place to live if more people had this kind of love in their hearts and compassion for their fellow man in their Souls

All my son ever wanted was a father like you. To teach, lead, help those in need and how to be a man. He wasn’t blessed with that and went down a bad road and died of fentanyl poisoning from taking a street Percocet 3 years ago. I tried to be a dad too but apparently failed. Thank you for teaching your sons right. It warms my heart.

I’m with you about cell phones. I stopped in at a fast food restaurant one day last year. There were a family of 5 sitting at a table with each person on their phones??? Have we forgotten how to communicate these days??? Cheers. Chris, Western Australia 🇦🇺.

You’re good people. That is “old school.” When I was a boy (now 65), my dad would tell me to cut and trim the neighbor’s yard because they were 70+. The old woman would pay me with home-made cookies. God, I loved them. I was happy to help. We don’t have that behavior anymore. You’re a great dad👍
Yes That is the way I was brought up too. As a young woman I cleaned houses for a living. But I always had my little old ladies, I would take care of on my way home. I came to dearly love these ladies, they felt like family to me. Now I am the little old lady. I cant tell you how this blessed me I sure wish I could get out and do this kind of work, all day. The rewards in heaven for this, I know you dont do it for the reason; but they are there, This is the kind of thing Jesus said to do. Serve God bless you boys!
It's true here in Africa we grew up as family. As kids your neighbours were also your parents and guardians. They had the right to rebuked you. Now peoplenjust walk around and ignore things even if it's not right 🙏
