      Yes the pre filter can be taken apart a step further too, to get it extra clean. There are small clips at the top of filter that separate the plastic top from the clothe portion (just press the clips in). Hope you can keep your Dyson running and cleaning great!

  • @RicardoRodriguez-nf2iy

    When the unit has not been cleaned/maintained in a long time, I suggest not to wash the fabric triangular/funnel shape filter as explained in the video. The reason for that is because the dirt is collected/trapped inside that filter; which is actually mentioned through the video. If the filter is washed without properly been clean from the inside, then there is a high risk of the dirt clogging in the filter. I suggest to first remove the filter's tap/lid/cover, then to vacuum the dirt inside the filter, and to use a brush to loose the dirt trapped inside. Only after that, the filter can be washed as shown in the video. Never to run water inside the filter as that will push the dirt further inside the filter causing a clogged filter.

    So far so good with this vacuum. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

    You can actually separate the pre-motor filter fabric filter from the plastic frame which helps with cleaning and drying.

    • @BobPagano
      @BobPagano 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How? Thanks!

    • @justinfielding
      @justinfielding 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BobPagano if you look at the plastic rim at the top of the filter, under the rubber seal - there are three tabs. You can gently work these with a thin flat tool and pop the pieces apart which allows you to pull out the internal frame which is attached to the top section with the rubber seals. This makes it much easier to give the filter a throrugh clean and wring it out so that it dries more quickly. The plastic is quite thin/weak so I'm not sure how many cycles of removal it will survive. Warming it up may make the plastic less brittle. Worst case if the tabs break you could glue it back together with a small dab of hot glue.
      Now if you can work out how to remove the front grey section from the dust bin without breaking anything I would be very greatful to know. There is one screw accessible through the back side of the main entry hole. It looks like there is anohter screw hidden behind the electrical socket but I have yet to work out how to pull that scoket out and revel the screw without potentially breaking something.

  • @jacquelinew1331
    @jacquelinew1331 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The pre motor filter will have a bad smell if you just clean it as shown in the video. The top of the filter has 2 plastic tab one in and one out. You pop those tabs and the cloth layer slides completely off. Then it’s 2 pieces and there will be a lot of dust inside including pet hair. That is why this filter smells of you clean it with water.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flap door should freely open and close when you move the vacuum around. During use, the suction of the machine holds it open. It's designed to close when the vacuum is on the wall charger, so it doesn't let any dust back out.

When I first used the canned air inside the cyclone pack, quite a bit of dust blew out, and I was encouraged, thinking that might be the problem, but it didn't fix it. Hello, do you know of any way to clean the clear plastic top cover of the main roller head on this? Mine really needs to be washed or at least be able to get to it to clean it. The gray thing that goes into the roller head is in the way.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah the clear plastic is not easy to clean, because the motor for the brushroll is housed inside that area. I find the easiest way is to gently push a wash clothe through, around the motor, but it's tricky. You have to be careful doing so, because you can damage the motor if you force it out of place trying to get around it. You can also take the entire head apart to remove the motor, but that's also an endeavor. It's just cosmetic, so at the very least just make sure the clear parts are clean of extra debris. The plastic being dirty-looking won't make a performance difference if the air path inside the head is clear.

    Cone filter comes apart you know

      I know. I learned that after filming this. I take the filter apart in a Dyson V6 teardown vid I recorded after. It’s actually an important part to check, as the filter will build up with hair/crud on the inside over time.

    WAY too many adds, and what about if you don't have another vacuum cleaner to clean your Dyson?

      Compressed air would work too! I have a vacuum at my work bench, and it's very handy for projects/repairs.
      Just looked, and TH-cam did put in several ad breaks. I took several of them out. Thanks for the heads up!
