*Works great and is lightweight **MyBest.Tools** Comes apart for cleaning/fits back together easily. It replaced my carpet shampooer. Great on hardwood as well.*

Thank you for this video however I spoke to Dyson team and they advised me not to use any detergent when cleaning the filter as it can damage it- we should only be using cold water!
If the smell of the filter is a problem, Zoflora do a antibacterial spray in a can which is a very fine mist and in different scents. That way you aren’t washing it in the detergent
I love this vacuum so much and I totally forgot where I placed my manual on how to clean it, so thank you so so so much for this. It is disassembled in front of me right now and it's naaaaaaasty.

this video reminds me that i need to clean my dyson. i have been putting it off because the directions make it confusing but you made it look so easy
Craziest thing that you make it look easy and I cannot for the life of me remove the battery from the main piece. 20 minutes, will not pull apart. you do it so quickly, i've rewound this 100x.
When you clean a vacuum cleaner, you become the vacuum cleaner. Great vid. Thank you.

I am on my second V8 animal and luckily I kept the old one. It comes in handy when I wash the filters as I use the old ones and can allow a lot of time for drying without having my vacuum out of order whilst I wait for it to dry.
Thank you so much for the demonstration of how to putting the Dyson back together🙏 I almost thought I accidentally broke my parent’s Dyson when I was trying to take the dust out🥲
The middle purple part also comes apart. So once pulling out the long cylinder part there are three little notches. Push each one with a blunt knife and the actually purple mesh comes away from the frame

When cleaning the long filter flip the end off and remove Centre to take out the Gung in the middle which causes the " pulsing problem"
I just cleaned the center blue filter (the long one), which I have not done so far thinking "oh... but it still looks clean" and couldn't believe the amount of dust that accumulated there. This tip alone may be fixing the constant pulsing problem we were having... We'll know tomorrow when everything dries out and we re-assemble. Thanks!

you can use a coin instead of knife to disassemble the bottom part, much easier :)

Apparently the canister latch was fixed in v10. Call Dyson to replace your canister so you don’t get dirt and dust spilled all over you. Good luck
TBONETIA this happens everytime I clean mine too. It seem impossible to get the dust out of that thing

I have the Dyson V8 animal cordless vacume just slightly different from yours and I love it so much I've had it for many years. I'm embarrassed to admit that in all that time I've never properly cleaned my vacune throughly. I only removed my hair from roller. I saw many other videos in how to clean it, but none compared to you they just dust it off and don't wash the parts. Thank you so much for showing up how to property clean it. Mine was so disgusting It took me so much time to clean the brush cover with the microfiber cloth.

With the long filter soak it in warm water and squeeze, you will see much dirt coming out. Get rid of water and repeat these steps until the water is left clean in the bowl. Was told to me by a dyson service man lol and really works and oh always try not get metal components wet x

Hi Emily, great video. I have a dyson animal corded and clean it regularly. The only downside it's 10 yrs old and still going strong. Waiting for it to breakdown so I can buy a cordless one, maybe I should stop cleaning it haha. Have a fab week 😊

great video but I need help I have a dyson not that model but a dyson all the same anyway I wanted to know is it safe to clean the clear bin with washing up liquid that you would use for washing your dishes just my dyson is starting to smell

I've got the V6 animal: I take the filter tube apart to clean inside - amazed at the amount of junk in there! Don't you need to do that with the later models? This model looks a LOT easier to take apart than the V6.
I use a seam ripper which are ridiculously cheap to cut that hair and carpet vomit off the beater bar.
