  • Tools Used:
    sockets: 10mm, 12mm, 19mm
    10mm hex socket
    rubber mallet
    Large flathead screwdriver
    3/8 electric impact gun
    clip pliers
o ring pick, or small flathead screw driver.
This pump is similar to the Honda ridgeline, some Accords, Odyssey, Acura MDX.
This pump had three 12mm bolts holding it down to the engine. I did need to remove the actuator on the intake to get the pump out. I used a honda specific belt removal tool to get the drive belt off. The tensioner uses a 17mm head to release tension from the drive belt tensioner. It may be best to remove the Drive belt all the way off the engine to reduce the chances of getting power steering fluid on the belt. Fluid on the belt could cause the belt to squeal. I used a rag under the pump and suction hose to catch some of the fluid when removing the hose. I also found a plug to put in the hose to avoid a large still of the fluid. The pressure line with the 10mm bolts doesnt lose to much fluid.
My method used in this video isnt the proper way of resealing a power steering pump, but it works for me.

I know this is an old video, but it is the only video that shows the reeds inside the pump because mine fell apart when taking it apart. Thank you so much for this video, it saved by bacon today!

Just make sure the reeds have the dark side facing outward. (Sharp side towards the center.) how the top and bottom face doesn’t matter

I’m digging the tinted split screen for the text. Very polished looking. 👏

This is the same pump for a 2012-2017 Honda Odyssey.
