@TheDarkbluerock When Barkley came into the league, he was hovering at 300lbs. Luckily, Moses Malone took him under his wing and basically told him that he was a good player, but he'd be a great player if he lost weight and got into shape, which he did. Charles tried to mentor Oliver Miller the same way Moses tried to mentor him, but Miller thought that Barkley was bullying him and didn't listen. Several years later, Miller ate himself out of the league.
Honorable mention: John"Hot Plate"Williams, who played for LSU & the Washington Bullets in the mid to late 80's. He had a lot of talent, but couldn't put the fork down, hence his nickname. I might be wrong, but he may have been the first NBA player to have a weight clause put in his contract. Then there's Stanley Robert's, another LSU big man who played with Shaq. He spent most of his career with the LA Clippers, but couldn't leave the buffet alone and ate himself out of the league.
@@rodprops There were two John Williams. Of course my Bullets had to have the fat one, who within the limits of his avoirdupois could actually play a bit.
what's crazy about Traylor passing away in 2011 was that it happened in May... a month later, the guy he was traded for on draft night, won a championship and Finals MVP. Definitely the most lopsided trade in NBA history.
I see Oliver Miller at my local grocery store all the time. And no---he's not buying a lot of cakes and pies. lol He's a lot slimmer now. And his arms are ridiculous to look at. That wingspan and standing reach is INSANE.
I kinda feel bad when guys are still young and eat their way to obesity, and even though it’s technically their own fault, I’ve realized over time that bad eating habits are usually the result of parents that never set limits on what their kid can eat. It’s easier to just keep giving in and feeding the kid everytime they say they’re hungry, and since obesity is so popular in America, people are too afraid to call out parents when they see their kids getting obese. So generally if partners overfeed their kids, and the parents don’t see a problem with the weight gain, the kid usually doesn’t either, and that’s how you end up with kids that are only 16-25 and already weigh 300+ lbs smh I know this because I watched how my younger brother became obese and by 18 he was already 350+ lbs. but it all started when were kids, we would go to McDonald’s and my brother would ask for 5 cheeseburgers instead of the 2 we usually got and despite me protesting, they would give it to him anyhow, there was no limits on how much soda/snacks he we could eat, we were just expected to diet on our own terms, and that worked for me because I didn’t wanna be obese but my brother was obese before he even reached 10 which got him bullied in school and obviously he couldn’t find any girlfriends, it led to a lower quality of life smh Obesity is too normalized in America and changing it starts with parents doing better
You have to know that many of these listed weights are under listed for PR reasons. There's no way that kind of chunk at that stature can be sub 400lbs.
Don't forget about Jokic and Luka. They were eating their way out of the NBA until they became fathers. Dallas and nuggets fans should cheer their wives more.
Oliver Miller had come to play basketball in Greece after the NBA and specifically in Crete, in Greece we have... a religious observance on Saint John's Day, we light bonfires and jump them few times , guess what, Miller saw this and jumped the fire repetitively and burned his feet so badly that he was expelled from the team...
Not excusing laziness, bc I know most of those situations are probably on them, but I feel bad for the few that just have those bad genetics and can’t keep the weight off. I’ve seen it once before and they were doing everything they could
damn, i can't relate to the struggle of being famous and millionaire. though on a lower scale(meaning earning nicely) i'm still lean and not eating my way out to sickness.
Those bad Knicks contracts,Spencer Elmore got alot bigger after he left UNLV. Priest Lauderdale when I saw him with the Nuggets,he was about the worst NBA player I saw, couldn't habdle ball, barely could dunk,no blocks,no defense. Sean May,also on Bobcats was overweight and probably contributed to injuries and short career!
It is crazy that Robert "Tractor" Traylor was traded for Dirk on draft night....and he played 7 years in the NBA, was out of the NBA for 7 years, and had been dead already for 7 years.....all by the time Dirk retired from basketball himself 😂. That's crazy.

Hey man, you forgot about Raymond Felton.
whos jersey is that at 3:38 number 30?
@@nittilaflare8209 I dunno man, maybe that's Heat Check's own jersey. Looks unfamiliar to me
Having your own mascot fat-shaming you it's DIABOLICAL 😂😂😂
It's Phoenix's mascot actually -The Gorilla 😉
Nobody but the devil 😂😂😂
Nah, when even Barkley says you're eating too much, you gotta reflect on your life for a moment...
😂😂

Lol @ The Kings mascot dumping popcorn all over his face. Savage! Two words “I’m full” 😂
That was the Suns mascot.
Big baby Glen was a force to be reckoned with. Absolutely diabolical
He was actually a decent player.
In Shawn Kemp's defense, that cocaine helped keep him skinny and jumping out the roof.
Jerome James played with Eddie Curry and probably got hungry everytime he looked at the back of his jersey😂
10:28 bro shoved that poor kid 😂
😂😂
I darted to the comments after seeing that lol!
Surprised Raymond Felton didn't make the list..
All these knicks players....
Yeah,I saw him early with the Bobcats but as the years went by he bounced around the league and looked bigger every year!
He was still cold with the Mavs.
@@chaowu5139lmaoo ikr
He’s 6’1 and played in the NBA until he was 33. He didn’t eat his way out of the league, he just aged out

I thought his nickname was "Hot Rod"? 🤔

I liked watching Stanley Roberts on the Clippers. For a big dude he was quite agile for a while.

Extremely sad.

Make it 8 because Zion is coming…
He’s got next
No he not he kept his weight in check for that check & he more healthy now
Either that or he’s dieting his way back into the league
He was #8 for sometime before but now he has kept his weight in check.
@@gloryroad7452 where he at then? He was injured when it mattered most, his size doesn't help
Watched a lot of nba channels and im happy to see someone post something new & fresh
Shaq is lucky that he’s gift physically gifted. If not, he would be on this list
Jared Sullinger showed his class in Korea few years ago. Won 10 straight game at the playoff and won a champioship. 🏆🔥

He played for Ohio State@@rodprops

this was a video personally made for Zion Williamson
Can we mention DJ Burns getting in great shape from how he was in college and wish him good luck?

At that weight, Oliver Miller's bench press and deadlift must've been insane, though.
Dude had be to be strong as hell
@@yankees29 Especially when you take his height into account, as well. Bro had to have been benching at least 500lbs easy.

John Williams of the Washington Bullets should have made the list.

Caleb Swanigan should be added here.

More often than not this is a mental health issue. Sometimes It's not that easy to just "stop eating" when you're using food as self medication.
The Knicks’s Isaiah Thomas was the only team that thought it was a good idea to overpay Jerome James.
Kemp might have ate his way out of the Hall of Fame 👀
Trading away Dirk is crazy. I wonder how things would have went had they kept him
