I watched the raid videos twice or so before, and I thought they were great, but I didn't think much of them. I just looked at them as another movie, dissasosiated ffrom the rest of the world. But Damn man maybe its just because Im high or something, idk, but this litteraly changed how I look at tarkov. Sounds all cringe and edgy or whatever, but no shit its ust different. Rewatched Raid after this with a new perspecive, and damn man I teared up. Its fucked up, everyones just fighting whoever pays them, they go in assuming its gonna be a quick in and out mission, and they end up getting stranded while their freinds are slowly killed off one by one. Its so deppresing and sureal. Finaly, everyone goes in fighting, knowing they arn't going to all come out, just leaving nearly everyone on both sides dead. And it finaly looks like a few of the PMCs are gonna make it out, only to be tarkoved by stupid luck. All that work, all that death, all for nothing. No one will know what happened to them, and hardly anyone will even care anyways. Their loved ones will have to live on without them, all because of a fucked up situation. I sometimes listen to some of geneburn's songs, and even the upbeat happy ones just leave me feeling... empty? I don't know exactly what. Its deppresing
I totally get you guys. I just recently started playing tarkov last week, but i was fascinated by the game the first time i saw it way back. I actually played Contract wars on Facebook as a kid, so I was interested in the story of (what i now know is called) Russia 2028, because the game isn't really mainstream and the lore is pretty puzzling. But as a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan, i was immediately interested in the whole history of Tarkov. How it was before. And i was fascinated by how well the empty the landscapes were. When I started considering learning about the game for the time i eventually buy it, the raid series also came out. I was thrilled. As a military and firearms enthusiast (im still 18 and don't own any guns but i love learning about it) i was hooked on the incredibly realistic CQB action and real effects of the Raid series. Plus, the series made more sense because i chose to dive deep sleep into tarkov lore and basically kinda immersed myself into the game before even playing it. I'm currently playing it and am thoroughly enjoying it. I don't mind the grind and difficultly. Man, what a universe.
Having been looking up this type of aesthetic and reading up on topics I found interesting, I get exactly what you mean. - the lives of mercenaries from both USEC and BEAR are very fickle. Really hits different now when my operator dies on a merc run.
Hi I'm a irl contractor and we all do that for the death and violence, we (speakin for my group) don't give a damn about our family, our friends and even money, its deep inside us, something makes us unable to lives without fighting, when i'm at home, i'm killing myself with drugs because I just can't stay on my couch watching ytb or shit. So to answer the "their loved ones" we don't have no loved ones, only the armorer of my team have a loved one and its his dog, no more, we don't have gf, we don't have family contacts, social contacts or whatever, we out of the society and we love that, its not sad at all, I was depressed as fuck until I became a contractor, we love our life, else we won't goes to foreign country etc, but yeah, we gettin paid a huge amount of money (400 to 800 per day in general, depends on the mission)

There's something so relatable with russian war music and stories. Afghanistan, Chechnya, all of it. The pain and the suffer that the war brings out in every normal human being. When I hear all the gunshots and the dying along with russian cursing and calls for help I just feel like I'm the spectator that is the one chosen to suffer because I can't help them. I'm just looking down on them, observing, having no affect. Watching them disappear in front of me, watching them loose their loved ones for a conflict that a company started, a company that shows complete and utter disregard for human life. And in Tarkov, the thing that makes the whole thing even more sad, is that both sides die slowly until almost no one is left, and those who are left are to, yet again, live or die in the cruel world they are deployed in. And stupid luck affects their ultimate faith, which perfectly transalates in game. Every raid is another attempt of survival, survival after nothing and no one of ours is left. All of this for what? What a sad world we live in. And shit like this happens all the time in real life, Tarkov and the Norvinsk region is just a way of perfectly describing modern conflict. I've been into Tarkov lore for a while, the lore is not even fully written and everything is thought out so carefully. It's ingenious, It somehow affects me, me who is a no one, has served no army, has seen no combat. How could that be? That only shows how greatly everything is done.
Youre not no one man and war affects everyone in society. I agree with pretty much everything you have said but id add that we should use our interest in war games and media to pay our respects to those who have fought. Ive recently been learning a lot about my countries wars these past two decades so that I can better understand the soldiers that come back from these conflicts. Veterans need us, and they deserve an understanding and welcomong society that helps them continue on in life
But russian is a combat language. Same as Chinese and German. Thats why it always sounds like they're violently angry😂 but in essence their languages are very malleable when understand them.

Just got out of a scav raid on customs like this. Three PMC's surrounded me at gas station when I had nothing but a double barrel shotgun. I held my own for as long as I could, killed two, but my wounds got to me right outside of extract at Administration Gate.

Log number: 26. Date: [unintelligible] Time: 2:57 AM, EST. Dimtri and Jameson got obliterated a few hours ago. We were walking around some abandoned apartment buildings and had found a good amount of canned food. After a few more hours of taking whatever we could find, we left the building and as soon as we stepped out, an RPG or something hit the wall right behind Dimtri, where Jameson was keeping watch. Dimtri got sent flying and the wall behind him collasped. I found Dimtri's body and there was no chance of survival. The amount of blood... Jameson was crushed by the floor above AND the wall as the wall seemed to be supporting a good amount of the floor above. No chance he's still even a person anymore. Right now, I'm huddeled up in the basement of the building and I got my AK74 aimed at the door, but I hear footsteps upstairs. Just in case, here's my memoir. I shouldn't have joined USEC, or the military for that matter. I shouldn't have let myself be so gullible and get recruited by that guy at the School Cafeteria 10 years ago. If your reading this, either your gonna learn from it or my brains are splattered on it and you killed me. Either wa Note: the rest of the note was not readable due to it being covered in blood.
Started the raid in woods with a buddy. We got into a couple of fights with scavs here and there and just as we went for the extract we got ambushed by a sniper who shot my friend right infront of me. I managed to evade sniper fire but ran head first into a group of scavs who shot me up real good.I somehow managed to escape that too but the fight left me severaly wounded with a fucked up leg. Walked all the way to the fucking factory gates evading all kinds of danger only to get infront of the gates and realise that I can't escape from there alone. Sat there for 5 minutes literaly on the brink of death. When out of nowhere a group of 3 guys show up all decked out in black gear. Instead of shooting me in the head and ending my suffering they helped me to extract. I left Tarkov that day but those 3 guys will never leave my heart. Goodspeed to you lads.
I miss my first few hours on Tarkov. I had no idea how the maps were laid out, no idea what weapons/mods were good, and, most importantly, I was completely dumbfounded by the sheer beauty of Tarkov's lore and scenery. Now, I have a vivid map in my head of every location. I skip through quest dialogue, completing the objectives without ever checking the assignment. I only run the same, utilitarian loadout from mid to late wipe. Scavs don't scare me anymore; I don't see them as the desperate, ex-civilian the lore wants me to see them as, but rather as simple AI intended to cause a hurdle in my path and waste my ammunition. The magic isn't gone, and I don't think it will be for a long time, but it is fading. Videos like this remind me of how I felt during my first few matches, and I can't thank you enough for reviving this overwhelming nostalgia.
Your channel will blow up with stuff like this. Several recent spiritual awakenings have brought me to the realization that war is futile, and I feel quite disconnected from many of the ideas of violence, righteous or otherwise, that I used to be so tied to. I will always train, but the fantasies must come to an end. Better to be a warrior in a garden.. This content is deep if you're in the right headspace. Keep up the great work brother, instant sub.

All we had to do to stop this violence is to wiggle and move along but greed and fear keeps pushing us closer to hell. Just to complete task, I've killed my friends many times. Just to keep me sane, I've killed my friends just for fun. We killed each other for laughs, we shoot each other to just get a reaction. Our morales twisted, killing is the only thing we find joy in. Suffering, sadness, death. And when the wipe comes, we repeat the process again. Even with VOIP, people are just prey.

Ah. I remember my time in Tarkov. I entered the zone by myself, with only my service pistol on me. I came across a dead patrol, who I relieved of their supplies and gear. I even took a very nice hat off of their Captain. Anyways, on my way towards a building, I came across a man who was in a tight spot. So, I helped him out of tight spot. Then, I shared my things with him, and we traveled together towards the closest extraction point. However, it closed before we could get there, thanks to a suprise party the Scavs set up for us. After that, we doubled back towards another extraction point till we got pinned down by snipers. I told him this: 'Well, Dimitri, this must be where we part. I'll cover you so you can get out of here, my friend. But I cannot go with you.' I gave him the evidence of what happened here, in this dark place we call home, and on my go- I covered him. And...I became a martyr. Such is life in Tarkov...
Description doesn't make much sense given that he has an AK. The Russains (BEAR PMCs) are fighting to investigate and expose Terragroup for how evil it is. In fact Terragroup in lore wants the rest of the world to end up like Tarkov except their rich people cribs. From what I can remember.
"[for] Terragroup?" Still makes sense, as "for" is not always used as "on behalf of." In this case it would be like "for the Terragroup issue?" Like a Russian soldier might think today (translated): "why die for Ukraine?" Not even the entirety of Ukraine is being fought over (atm), just a few bits of it, but our minds abbreviate like that. Anyway, I do think that "[over] Terragroup" would be more accurate, but the brevity of just "Terragroup?" Is great for the train of thought he was trying to convey. I'm not sure why I wrote so much about this.

I remember my friend got a labs key, I thought about dropping him right then and there, but then he said he'd never gone. I made it my mission to get the brother to extract, we killed a couple solos, my chest was black, and I was holding us up to get to extract. Then comes the fucking PMCs around the building corner full squad of 5-6 dudes, my buddy and I let our AKs rip dropping one on the spot, and then took cover. What ensued was the most intense gunfight of my life. I was dropping mag after mag into the enemy to suppress them so my friend could flank around, he got one, but the enemy heard I was coughing up a storm and decided to push me. I told my friend that I'd toss a couple nades out, and go out the back to link up with him at extract....I was lying. He threw a nade where he thought the enemies were, and started to make his escape he took a couple rounds but was fine. I tossed my nades in an attempt to slow their advance enough for me to rotate to cover, I succeeded. My shit talk on local chat engaged them, I was running my fucking mouth. I realized that I was on my last mag, it was half full. I had to make a final stand. I set up near a doorway, turned off my flashlight and waited. I heard footsteps, and the safety of a firearm switch. The first man hit the door, two to the chest one to the head, he was dead on the spot. The second man threw a grenade and missed me by a large margin. We traded gunfire until I was empty, and he had to reload we're both potatoes. I pull my secondary before he can get another mag into his rifle, I magdump him he's wounded mortally, but alive. His friend pops his head around the doorway, and mag dumps me. I told my friend that I got taken out, and he made it to extract safely. I then revealed that I sacrificed one of my best kits in order to get him out, he offered to repay me, but I declined. At least he escaped Tarkov.
Tarkov, once it's finished, is going to be the same environment that this video, and the Raid films, are attempting to represent. Oh it'll be one glorious hellhole, and i'll enjoy every second playing and fighting in it with my friends and going loud or running solo to put the fear in the hearts on my enemies.

I just read the description and it somewhat made me feel sad for the story behind Tarkov, maybe it's because I like my friends and I do not want my friends to go bye-bye, and fighting a war that doesn't really even benefit that much is just, awful.

Tarkov isnt just a game, its a whole story about the greed of people just trying to make money and survive, trying to leave the hell that tarkov is, but they always find themselves coming back to it. One by one they all die, it doesnt matter how much armor they're wearing, how much food theyve got, they think they will live forever but deep down they know they will eventually be staring down the barrel of a gun.

There's something so relatable with russian war music and stories. Afghanistan, Chechnya, all of it. The pain and the suffer that the war brings out in every normal human being. When I hear all the gunshots and the dying along with russian cursing and calls for help I just feel like I'm the spectator that is the one chosen to suffer because I can't help them. I'm just looking down on them, observing, having no affect. Watching them disappear in front of me, watching them loose their loved ones for a conflict that a company started, a company that shows complete and utter disregard for human life. And in Tarkov, the thing that makes the whole thing even more sad, is that both sides die slowly until almost no one is left, and those who are left are to, yet again, live or die in the cruel world they are deployed in. And stupid luck affects their ultimate faith, which perfectly transalates in game. Every raid is another attempt of survival, survival after nothing and no one of ours is left. All of this for what? What a sad world we live in. And shit like this happens all the time in real life, Tarkov and the Norvinsk region is just a way of perfectly describing modern conflict. I've been into Tarkov lore for a while, the lore is not even fully written and everything is thought out so carefully. It's ingenious, It somehow affects me, me who is a no one, has served no army, has seen no combat. How could that be? That only shows how greatly everything is done.
Youre not no one man and war affects everyone in society. I agree with pretty much everything you have said but id add that we should use our interest in war games and media to pay our respects to those who have fought. Ive recently been learning a lot about my countries wars these past two decades so that I can better understand the soldiers that come back from these conflicts. Veterans need us, and they deserve an understanding and welcomong society that helps them continue on in life

Just got out of a scav raid on customs like this. Three PMC's surrounded me at gas station when I had nothing but a double barrel shotgun. I held my own for as long as I could, killed two, but my wounds got to me right outside of extract at Administration Gate.

Started the raid in woods with a buddy.
We got into a couple of fights with scavs here and there and just as we went for the extract we got ambushed by a sniper who shot my friend right infront of me. I managed to evade sniper fire but ran head first into a group of scavs who shot me up real good.I somehow managed to escape that too but the fight left me severaly wounded with a fucked up leg. Walked all the way to the fucking factory gates evading all kinds of danger only to get infront of the gates and realise that I can't escape from there alone. Sat there for 5 minutes literaly on the brink of death. When out of nowhere a group of 3 guys show up all decked out in black gear. Instead of shooting me in the head and ending my suffering they helped me to extract. I left Tarkov that day but those 3 guys will never leave my heart. Goodspeed to you lads.

Escape from Kharkov
I miss my first few hours on Tarkov. I had no idea how the maps were laid out, no idea what weapons/mods were good, and, most importantly, I was completely dumbfounded by the sheer beauty of Tarkov's lore and scenery.
Now, I have a vivid map in my head of every location. I skip through quest dialogue, completing the objectives without ever checking the assignment. I only run the same, utilitarian loadout from mid to late wipe. Scavs don't scare me anymore; I don't see them as the desperate, ex-civilian the lore wants me to see them as, but rather as simple AI intended to cause a hurdle in my path and waste my ammunition.
The magic isn't gone, and I don't think it will be for a long time, but it is fading. Videos like this remind me of how I felt during my first few matches, and I can't thank you enough for reviving this overwhelming nostalgia.

I remember my time in Tarkov.
I entered the zone by myself, with only my service pistol on me.
I came across a dead patrol, who I relieved of their supplies and gear. I even took a very nice hat off of their Captain.
Anyways, on my way towards a building, I came across a man who was in a tight spot.
So, I helped him out of tight spot.
Then, I shared my things with him, and we traveled together towards the closest extraction point.
However, it closed before we could get there, thanks to a suprise party the Scavs set up for us.
After that, we doubled back towards another extraction point till we got pinned down by snipers.
I told him this:
'Well, Dimitri, this must be where we part. I'll cover you so you can get out of here, my friend. But I cannot go with you.'
I gave him the evidence of what happened here, in this dark place we call home, and on my go-
I covered him.
And...I became a martyr.
Such is life in Tarkov...

Like a Russian soldier might think today (translated): "why die for Ukraine?" Not even the entirety of Ukraine is being fought over (atm), just a few bits of it, but our minds abbreviate like that. Anyway, I do think that "[over] Terragroup" would be more accurate, but the brevity of just "Terragroup?" Is great for the train of thought he was trying to convey.

I didn't know I needed this song to be dubbed over the raid series but God it fits so good
I remember my friend got a labs key, I thought about dropping him right then and there, but then he said he'd never gone. I made it my mission to get the brother to extract, we killed a couple solos, my chest was black, and I was holding us up to get to extract. Then comes the fucking PMCs around the building corner full squad of 5-6 dudes, my buddy and I let our AKs rip dropping one on the spot, and then took cover. What ensued was the most intense gunfight of my life.
I was dropping mag after mag into the enemy to suppress them so my friend could flank around, he got one, but the enemy heard I was coughing up a storm and decided to push me. I told my friend that I'd toss a couple nades out, and go out the back to link up with him at extract....I was lying. He threw a nade where he thought the enemies were, and started to make his escape he took a couple rounds but was fine.
I tossed my nades in an attempt to slow their advance enough for me to rotate to cover, I succeeded. My shit talk on local chat engaged them, I was running my fucking mouth. I realized that I was on my last mag, it was half full. I had to make a final stand. I set up near a doorway, turned off my flashlight and waited. I heard footsteps, and the safety of a firearm switch. The first man hit the door, two to the chest one to the head, he was dead on the spot. The second man threw a grenade and missed me by a large margin. We traded gunfire until I was empty, and he had to reload we're both potatoes. I pull my secondary before he can get another mag into his rifle, I magdump him he's wounded mortally, but alive. His friend pops his head around the doorway, and mag dumps me.
I told my friend that I got taken out, and he made it to extract safely. I then revealed that I sacrificed one of my best kits in order to get him out, he offered to repay me, but I declined. At least he escaped Tarkov.

Tarkov isnt just a game, its a whole story about the greed of people just trying to make money and survive, trying to leave the hell that tarkov is, but they always find themselves coming back to it.
