I think the moment, that I realized what we saw with the flash backs was cloud remembering and seeing everything he missed while Zack was protecting him. I start fuckin bawling tears.
Out of hype for FF16 a few months ago I got FF7CC reunion and platinumed the game, it was my first type experiencing crisis core and the game destroyed me, I loved it so much and zack was so amazing, the ending had me sobbing like a baby

To be honest I still have my PSP version of Crisis Core, but I am happy they re-released it for the current game gens with the newer voice actors for the series moving on for Remake, Rebirth and whatever the call the 3rd game in the trio.

Crisis Core adds SO MUCH to the FFVII lore....Remake and Rebirth add like a complete +2 in emotional involvement just because Zack story is revisited there. Zack is an awesome charachter, he has real personality and is really likeable, like he is not a made up character that ticks the boxes for you to like him,he just is human and likable and his tragic story and end resonates really hard with players. WHen I played it on my PSP knowing he was going to die from the start it was terrible, each playing hour I liked him more and at the same time I knew each playing hour got closer to him dying trying to get to Midgard to see Aerith.
Fun Fact: According to an interview published in Gamaga during October 2007, Nomura wanted to create something that deeply moved people despite the end being known. Thay is why the staff ended up redoing the final sequence of Crisis Core around 20 times. But Nomura was extremely detailed in his feedback, and eventually his vision was achieved.
I always loved how Sephirtoh even with all his strenght and god complex he wasn't defeated by a soldier or an army just instead he was defeated by a regular person and that's why he hates Cloud

Makes you realise how much of a fantastic decision square enix made to create an alternative timeline where Zack survives in remake. Personally I hope 🙏 Zack & Cloud somehow team up to save Aerith but I feel one may have to make the ultimate sacrifice 🥲
This game breaks everyone. When I first finished this game, that was the first time in probably 10 to 12 years that I hadn't cried, I was starting to think nothing would make me. The original FF7 didn't pull that off, even with what happens, no other FF pulled that off, nothing at the time pulled that off, I was stuck. Crisis Core did. It breaks everyone. 10 years after CC I had to be broken again by something else. Now I think I have relatively normal emotional reactions. I still ugly cry every time nowadays when seeing this ending. I can't. Not today, screw this.
I hate the total replacement of voice actors :( On a better note, i love how Angeal pretty much TROLLS Zack 😅 who else thinks they should make a game where you play as Angeal, he deserves a backstory game, plus he's such a heartfelt character

I really do like this game a lot, the story telling, the animations (sometimes), and even the combat is super fun. The only problem I have with this remake is the horrible voice acting. I'm not saying the voice actors are bad, but the voice direction on this game is just so horrible. Every character sound so emotionless and it completely ruins the energy the PSP version had. I can't take this game seriously when the voice acting is laughably dull. Also, there's parts where some of the in-game animations look so lame. I wish they did a bit more with some of the in-game cutscenes besides just using their stock animations.
It is the best FF game in the series. Tying in all the little details and how much Zack goes through. The transfer of honor to Cloud. Him having to take out his mentor and more. It makes sense why Sephiroth and Genesis lost it. To realize what you are and to be created in such a way to be a monster. I wouldn't blame them. Heck, Zack was just a baby. Now a grown man having to go against the company and go out like that. To never see Aerith again and even her backstory is messed up. The game does a great job in making you feel for all these characters. Cloud having amnesia problems and going through the trauma of losing his home and experimented on is wild. I would be stoic and sassy too. He was a kid as well. Big Daddy Sephiroth finds out he is not even human is what gets me. All of them are technically not human anymore but Sephiroth wasn't even a human like that if I remember. Finding out your mother is a space rock makes you think doesn't it? Played this game years ago but the remake is looking great and all i could hope for
It’s a prequel to FF7 but it’s the first in the FF7 timeline so you don’t need anything else to understand it. So yes you can dive in. Then I would play ff7 remake which is a sequel to this game. All the mainline numbered FFs are different and have nothing to do with each other. Except instances like this, where there are spin offs of the numbered titles like 7 crisis core, or direct sequels like FF10-2 and FF13-2. Basically you can go in blind if you want.

On top of it all, he has his own immaculate and loving experiences with Aerith. Despite her warnings and devotion to her heritage and the planet, she loves him, and he grows to love her. He has feelings for Tifa as well, nd that is its own seperate parallel story, but that is how it goes sometimes. People love, they lose, they remember, but they can love again, and they can be conflicted. Cloud grows into himself and mends the damage and mental trauma done to him, so he has a different identity and experience with Aerith than Zack does, but...Cloud is Zack living on, in a way, much like Zack carries on Angeal's legacy.

It's not that this never happened it's simply sephiroth breaking through timelines through the life stream. The canon is still canon.
