My high school principal Raycraft is on that 5014. He also played a small part in the movie where they got off the bus at Henkel field house. His name was Raycraft.

Cool video! Im from Missouri too (suburban St Louis). Been living in Minnesota for a decade now. My wife and i love to visit small towns amd send postcards to friends and family.
Just re-watched Hoosiers last night and its still a great film. Would love to pass through New Richmond some day amd drop off some postcards at that post office. :)

Thank you! New Richmond was a neat little town! That would be a good postmark!

    Love those old towns.
I will have to watch the movie now, the wife and her family are all basketballers.

It’s a great movie! Very inspirational and will make this video make a lot more sense 😂

You know what might be fun? This is movie related but not sports movie related so I guess I'm stretching this a bit but there is a small town in Kansas called Piqua. Buster Keaton, the silent movie comedian and actor, was born there. There is a small museum in Piqua devoted to him. Might be a fun visit.

I’ve definitely heard of Piqua, but didn’t know the Buster Keaton trivia. It’s always fun to find a small town that has a famous person. Like my Missouri video where Mark Twain was from the tiny town of Florida, MO - population 5!

@@TravelwithaWiseguy Yeah, small towns always have the coolest stuff to me. I have no interest in places like LA or NYC. Why in the world would I want to deal with that traffic, the crowds, the parking problems, the high costs, all of it when I can go to these little places and see such great, often overlooked, sights?

The movie "Hoosiers" was made in 1985 and almost 40 years later they still have the movie props in that basketball court which looks pristine and the sign looks brand new too. Have they replaced the sign occasionally? The one that says "Hickory" hanging in the arena background? Also, how many time's did it take you to make the shot? lol In that picture, you are in the top row third from the left? #44?

Good question about the sign. Looked like it did in the movie! Basketball was my main sport for a long time so it didn’t take very many 😉

Not sure. I don’t live in the area, but that day there were bus tours I believe.
