Delbert is the name of the LaChoy dragon. Unfortunately, Delbert is the clumsiest sales character in the history of advertising on television, and by the 1970s, he was retired.
I think the Claussen's Bread version of "Just Kidding" went something like this: Mack: "I love these Claussen's Bread commercials, don't you?" Kermit: "I'm tired of them." (Multiple gunshots) Kermit: "Just kidding, Mr. Claussen!"
These are shockingly effective. I find myself wondering if the supermarket stocks La Choy despite having a Chinese take-out joint literally next door...
They were a novelty gag item you could buy back in the 50s and 60s. Maybe even today. Pretty smutty for their era too. Possibly the origin of the rule about your fortune only counting if you can add "...in bed" to it and still have it make sense.
2:24:I’ve seen the clip of the Claussen’s bread version of “House Is No Home”. The whole commercial would probably go like this, You Have Any Claussen’s Bread in your house? No! Mack puts a bomb in the house No house is no home without Claussen’s Bread. Boom! The house explodes.
Give that Mr. La Choy Dragon a really good spanking for physically abusing, bullying, cursing, cussing, harming, harassing, heckling, hurting, injuring, punishing, pushing, taunting, teasing, torturing and traumatizing Rowlf the dog!!! I can't take it anymore!!!
His sense of humor was ahead of its time, man.
Also, Frank?
R.I.P. Jim Henson (1936-1990)
"Howdy." "WILL YOU STOP THAT?!" LOL
Pay him more and he'll say more.

That Dragon can sell anything!
2:40 “Looks like a bunch of sickos if you ask me.”
LMAO
I love the footage of Jim's office and the workshop!
This whole video is criminally underseen.
"Will you cut that out?" XD

It's actually steam, but what kind of campaign would that be?
2:08 kermit makes a cameo
That's sam and friends
2:16 looks like the inspiration for one of the scenes from the you are my sunshine aliens on muppet show
*NEVER SERVE LA CHOY CHOW MEIN WITHOUT THE NOODLES!*
Proceed to break the table
When Delbert lists commercials with explosions, some of them are lost media.
Having a sudden craving for La Choy chicken chow mein. Headed to the store now!
These are shockingly effective. I find myself wondering if the supermarket stocks La Choy despite having a Chinese take-out joint literally next door...
"Actually we use steam, but what kind of campaign does that make?"
Love the explosion montage starting at 2:22
If only a handful of these commercials were found somewhere...

Take a drink if you couldn't get away with something in this commercial today.

2:53 Howdy!
Taken from Captain Tugg
Did a building actually burn down when they were filming one of the commercials?
Probably not. I think Jim Henson was exaggerating for effect.
Playboy????!!!!!!! The
